  • I forgot a couple things at the store and had to go back. Afterwards, I decided to check back at that new business to see if their alarm was still going off two hours later. Lo and behold, it was. Unbelievable.
This video features some better footage than the first one.

At my school we have 23 outdoor appliances that only sound for water flow. That’s probably what the commander is for.

Years ago, I was sitting in a McDonald’s in Minneapolis when the same exact kind of alarm went off for like three seconds before it shut off. It hurt my ears, for sure!

If it's going off for an extended time you should try to get in touch for the building owner/manager to let them know.

Crazy stuff here. The most I’ve ever seen like this is a sprinkler alarm strobe flash with no horn/bell.

  • @captainchris2016

If it's outside of business hours, the staff aren't there to silence the system until the manger arrives on the moring or the next business day or they come to check on the system or the fire department or another authority checks on the bulding by opening it with the key in the knoxbox. The commander is being used for another reason other then fire since it's blue. Fire Alarm notification appliances are usually Red/White. Oh yeah I almost forgot the panel may have auto silence programmed. I know for sure firelite panels have this.

The Commander wasn't blue. It was red, that's just the way the weatherproof housing shows up on camera. The business wasn't even open to the public yet. I wouldn't have been surprised if it were still going off overnight, but I passed by the next day and it stopped. It could've been auto-silenced, as you said.

My school has system sensor L series fire alarms but unlike the horn strobes I see in this video the ones at my school are white and they are speaker strobes. I got to film them going off last week!

00:33 That one sounded kinda different due to the wall changing the harmonics of the sound wave as it's a fast frequency sweep broadband tone making it sound more buzzing and cripsy than screeching like in the first clips

For the first 30 seconds, they sound almost like Wheelock AS or MT horn/strobes. I know the L-series horn/strobes are a little less harsh-sounding than its' predecessor the SpectrAlert Advance, but really?
