The parts sheet is a great idea , at least Slot It & NSR do have catalogues with not only what cars are coming out throughout the year but also spare parts , spare parts for hobby level slot car's is so important , thankyou Dave & keep up the great work 👍👏
Dig that 510 T-Shirt Dave these companies don't have the overhead capital budget to work with like Revo-Slot does! I think Revo is Chinese owned and have access to patent rights way easier than other countries because the Chinese manufacturing & production is all inhouse same country!
100% agreed Dave . I love my stickers . My main slot car supplier got stickers made ,because he sent me some to see what i though, but I've never actually received one in an order since then .And we put the things on our real cars .on our tracks ,on our windows ...man its free advertising for companies why the hell dont they send them ...and dont start me about paper catalogues 😤.....I miss them so much 😭
Dave, You are absolutely right. I was slotting in the 1960's then went decades before I got back into it in 2009. There is much that I don't know...So pictures and part numbers are so very helpful for me. It would not be that expensive for EVERY BRAND to insert that card in the box...considering prices these days. I Always enjoy your color commentary, Opinions, and advice on all things SLOT. SLOT CAR NEWS is the Best. Thanks, Dave.
I could have written the exact same comment. Started with Strombecker in early sixties. . Now I just collect because there is no slot racing where I live now.
I love stickers, whether the slot company or a dealer! I use them as "advertising" on the track walls I make. Every manufacturer should, like you said!
I agree, Dave I think all the Slot Car companies should give you a parts list for replacements, thanks for sharing, buddy👍🤠🏎️oh and stickers are nice to get,lol
Stickers are autocollants in France and Aufklebers in Germany. Discovered that about 15 years ago when collecting Marlboro F1 race stickers from 1972 to 1978 series .
I did stickers for a time..... Lots of time cutting them up so I stopped - but that's the way I roll..... I'm headed back out to print them up again.... Thanks Dave!
Revoslot is a serious company. Their packaging is the best. The way the car is presented. part sheet and the cherry on the ice cream is the sticker. . All manufacturers should take notice.
Agree Dave, We tend to throw stickers into our orders and now this year adding an A4 printed sheets of suggested products (Cant quite afford a cool NSR Catalogue but were aiming for it)
@SlotCarNewsOfficial Then if you agree, rant that carrera ought to re-release more cars. It seems the F1s re-released have sold well. I'd love to get some other cars they sold in the past, including other NASCAR cars, 917Ks, and other F1s, but not at the prices folks ask for them on ebay, etc. Maybe Carrera could ask for our input on the cars to re-release...
I guess I’ll be the contrarian with regards to stickers. They either stay in the box or go in the bin at my place. Completely agree on the included parts sheet. That said, I would appreciate a QR code or short url on the sheet that takes you to the latest version on their web site.
Amen to the parts sheet! Also, how about a standard for pinions and crown gears so that I don't accidentally buy an AW pinion and a SW crown gear and destroy both? AAAAARGH!! Trying to figure this stuff out from the dealership websites is almost impossible!!
Revo got the majority of my $$ this past season. All the little touches with every product, and nothing wasted on a display case that I trash as soon as the car is on track.
Your point regarding parts is well taken, but it doesn't go nearly far enough. Here's what else needs to be said. First, it should apply to manufacturers of basic slot cars, as well as the more advanced ones. People who race "toy" slot cars also need to know what replacement parts fit their cars. not only because they will need, sooner or later, to replace a worn-out, broken, or failed part but also because they might like to purchase parts for kitbashes or just to put some different parts on a car to change its looks a bit or replace some part or other to go with a repaint to make an accurate model. Yes, even relative beginners do these things even before they move up to the cars made for advanced hobbyists. But the bigger issue is this: the parts have to be available. You're undoubtedly aware that Hornby stopped packaging Scalextric parts some years ago, and it now looks very much like Carrera has done the same. When my family and I had our own shop we carried the largest selection of parts we could. That brought in a lot of business, both online and through the door, including many first-time customers, and parts, even for the more basic slot cars, were a very profitable category. Recently, I spent quite a lot of time searching for certain parts I use frequently in my car builds. Not only did I not find the specific parts I was looking for, but I also discovered that the general availability of parts, both basic and advanced, appears to be nowhere near what it was when we were in the business. This hurts the hobby. How many beginners buy a race set and before long find that they have no way to replace the part that just broke on one of the cars when one of their kids flipped it off the table at full throttle and bounced it off the wall? The effect of parts unavailability causes who knows how many race sets to be put away while they are still nearly new, only to end up in the back of a thrift store, their original purchasers having abandoned slot cars.
Hi Dave K, Absolutely agree with your rant 100 %. But, who is listening that will actually take notice in the slot car companies and change to what Revoslot do? My guess is not a single one which makes me wonder…..
Hey Mr Kennedy could you please send me details and where I can purchase that 50s Parnelli Jones Indy car you showed a couple weeks ago you got my email I'd really appreciate it watch all your videos really like them thanks for your contribution once again really interested in that car or anything like it

Moral of the story: Revo Slot rocks. And my spending last year backs that up! Indeed, manufacturer of the Year.
I just bought another car from their parent company BRM. The very best quality product for sure
Dig that 510 T-Shirt

Thanks for your help and hard work keeping us all informed Dave 🤠 Wish you and yours all the best in the new year ✌️💙
Dave, Greetings from down under you hit nail right on head. I use the stickers on my track for advertising as well. Agree parts lists are a must.
I don’t have Dave’s knowledge of the industry. Having a part list is the absolute ticket!
We collected automotive stickers as kids. Oh to have that collection back.
Yes to stickers and parts sheets. Easy peasy for anyone wanting to repair or upgrade a car. Stickers adorn my slot box.
Right on, me too Van.
100% agreed Dave . I love my stickers . AGREED 1000%..

Man alive the parts list is the thing ! Great idea!
I agree, Dave I think all the Slot Car companies should give you a parts list for replacements, thanks for sharing, buddy👍🤠🏎️oh and stickers are nice to get,lol
I totally agree right on brother
Part sheet is an awesome idea! I need a new headlight for a Carrera car....case in point! Stickers would be nice! We could add it to the diorama.
Stickers are autocollants in France and Aufklebers in Germany.
Discovered that about 15 years ago when collecting Marlboro F1 race stickers from 1972 to 1978 series .
More power to you Dave, I couldn't agree more.
I did stickers for a time..... Lots of time cutting them up so I stopped - but that's the way I roll..... I'm headed back out to print them up again.... Thanks Dave!
I agree completely!
Revoslot is a serious company. Their packaging is the best. The way the car is presented. part sheet and the cherry on the ice cream is the sticker. . All manufacturers should take notice.

You were definitely in rant mode. We consumers aren't who need to be listening though. 🙂
Trust me you’re not the only ones here ;)

The best rant of the year. I do love a good rant especially when it's worth ranting about.
Go REVOSLOT!

Parts sheet for dummies!
Well said sir
We want the sticker!
How's about a sticker of a part sheet?
Hi Dave K,
Absolutely agree with your rant 100 %. But, who is listening that will actually take notice in the slot car companies and change to what Revoslot do? My guess is not a single one which makes me wonder…..
they are watching trust me. i've gotten feedback on a number of my editorials over the last few month.
