Willeke and I like the white cupboards and ceiling in Ocean Melody a lot because first of all it brings more light in the ship and secondly it offers a more spacey feeling. We also noticed that Melissa’s teeth are looking beautiful now so we think the braces for her teeth should have been done much sooner. We love to see how Olli is growing and he’s such a cute boy.

Hi guys. I myself am a wood lover. But wood creates a dark space. Spesialy in a small space. I understand why you paint white. White also makes the room feel bigger. Leaving a bit of wood creates mood. Great job. ❤❤

We’re working flat out now. Determined to be ready to go as soon as possible
We have some nice window sills here that someone painted White, I tried to sand them back and found as you said, the paint had soaked in so had to re paint 😞Luckily they put Hardboard over the nice panelled doors which one we took it off, had them dipped and re glued they came out great.
Yes getting paint out of wood grain is a difficult or impossible task

I don't know what it is, but something has changed - and if you have a new camera, it isn't what I mean! Maybe you are carrying out some New Years Resolutions or something ... or is it me? No matter: everyone in this episode (and that is the whole family) including Ocean Melody look nicer to me than in any previous videos! Whatever it is, keep it up!

Andy, just a little heads up on polycarbonate glazing. Wise choice not going for corner tabs immediately in the corners. Too much stress there causing splitting due to both X & Y forces. On the other tabs, keep the holes as far away from the glazing edge as possible. Back the polycarb on the tabs with 'cushion' medium density sponge. Use Nylok nuts with the fixings so they are not overtightened, which is another problem that causes cracks. Be prepared on the voyages for some splitting also.

Just thought you should definitely take your welding gear with you with all the welding you've done on both Melodies, im sure you could use your abilities while traveling the world to make extra income! Not a silly adventure / you are doing a great adventure / and taking us all on it / you’re doing something we would all love todo but not brave enough but you and you’re family are / we follow you because you are doing what we can’t , and we love the hard work and so much effort all of you put in , it truly is fantastic totally admire what you are doing and you’re work ethic , it’s like being a juggler in the circus but works for you lol , and of course your choice but the white just gives it so much modern touch ie. Brighter we are not all uncle Albert’s lol ❤

I'm sure the boat purists will have a fit with you painting the wood in the cabin, but just the small amount of video you showed, the cabin already does look brighter and not so dark and dreary.

Actually, quite a lot done on this video. Very well done and yea the white does look really good. Just the little bit off white you have now showed the interior lightened up a bit. when you put the ceiling tiles back I was surprised you did not put insulation up there as well. Yes, will be nice watching twice weekly! if you can make happen. Cheers Andy catch you next video

what kind of paint are you using on the wood/teak laminate paneling? will you do the whole boat? thinking of doing the same makes he space feel much bigger with lighting in shadow gaps like the new boats.. did you sand and prime?
We’re experimenting with different paints. On that cupboard we used Rustoleum Antique White Furniture paint

Large expanses of varnish on boats, especially boats that are lived aboard 24/7/365 is greatly overrated. It really gives you the huge irits after a while.
