I have been listening to the series of testimonies and really commend Village Church for choosing people unafraid to share their truth. Unafraid to share how Jesus has transformed their lives, and unafraid to proclaim His love and goodness. This is how we win souls, when we make ourselves relatable. Thank you. I too bear the shame and heavyweight in my heart for having an abortion. I was in a marriage, 2 beautiful kids already, but my husband (non Christian) didn't want a 3rd as we couldn't afford a house if we had another child. I had no reason to have an abortion and didn't want one, but he drove me there and I was under duress. They scanned me and said that there was no heartbeat, and when I asked to see the screen they said that it was not able to be seen as it was so far back. I truly believe if I had seen that baby would have been born. I went ahead as I didn't know what else to do. I didn't understand why my husband was wanting it as we were married and had kids so it should have been OK! 2 weeks afterwards my husband got a mortgage person to come around and say if we could get the loan for the house... we couldn't. My husband was in and out of work and had not got a stable job to have a loan with. That night I felt the weight of what had truly happened. We had murdered our baby for a house. My husband didn't care. 6mths later I was accidentally pregnant again. This time I booked myself in. I was a murderer anyway so who cares now! The morning of the appointment my husband said that it didn't need to be, and that he'd look after us.. so I didn't go ahead. We had a beautiful baby girl. She was 7mths old when my husband left us. 3 kids, no job and a no way of working with bub. God looked after us, HE never left me and my kids. God gave me strength and it was not an easy road, but it was a God centred road we have travelled on. My regrets.. don't marry a non believer, don't ignore the red flags God puts up, don't do things that you know and feel are against God, don't disregard that small soft voice. Thank you for letting me speak. One day I pray I'll meet my baby again, God Willing.
