- One day woodworking projects MagSafe charging stand for iPhone
I used walnut and linden wood, tung oil + carnauba wax finish. The insides are a wireless charging module and small neodymium magnets 1.5 mm thick, but it seemed to me that it would be better to take magnets 2 mm thick. I messed up a little at the beginning of the video with the polarity of the magnets, then I had to redo it - peel off the magnets and turn them over and take them out to a larger radius, since at the first location of the magnets the phone did not charge and the board and the coil got very hot. In general, the story is this, I wanted to buy a good and beautiful stand with MagSafe charging for my iPhone and I didn’t find something I liked on the Internet, then I looked for ideas on Pinterest, but I didn’t find anything interesting there, and it happened this is a stand. Just 2 tips about electronics: hot glue is great for fixing boards in place and it doesn't hurt the circuits. (Some CA glue unfortunately do.) And second, fix the covers with screws! This way, if they go bad, you can replace them. 😊
