Why do we have to say the same thing every single time we make a build video? These are not the highest DPS builds. Highest DPS is optimal for speedruns. But speedrunners abandon the quest when they get hit once or one shotted since they only go offensive and risky which if fine if you are doing speedruns for RUclips. But highest DPS builds are worth nothing if you get one shotted because no Health Boost. We will always recommend builds that can be played comfortably and this will never change on our channel. Many of our viewers understand that 100% but some still don't. For those that don't here once again. Highest damage numbers in the training area on the pole are nice. But the pole doesn't attack you. Monsters do. So we go a few % lower dmg but are safe and this is what comes out on top most of the time. For everyone that wants to farm the training pole, this video might not be for you. Speaking of DPS, how much would ~2 effective element really effect per arrow damage in the end? I messed about with Honey's builder to make these builds more in line with my own preferences and found a Velkhanamielle set which loses to the TCE set I would personally run by about ~2 EFE while gaining Divine Blessing 3, Stamina Surge 3 and Heat Guard. Personally I think this would be a worthy trade off since I'm not a speedrunner and this would be way comfier to play with. Although both these sets do require pretty godly decos to run.
@@dombombed They are better if you don't have a lot of high tier decorations. Problem is, getting the Kjar bows you want is just as bad if not worse than trying to get the decorations.
@@bluhmer1990 Kjarr are so easy to drop wtf are you saying ? Safi is just easier but remember that kjarr weapons has built in critical element, and overall is better for elemental builds.
That blast build looks on point, and a sincere thank you for taking the time to create/show these pre-end game builds! I can't tell you how many searches, videos, and guides that only provide speed runs or strictly pre-safi builds. This was and is a much needed video.

I don't have quite that many rare decorations, I did get a lucky attack level 4 though. Having these tiers will def help players instead of seeing em cry from the lack of decorations. I find affinity very confusing. If I'm not wrong, it increases your chance of getting 25% more damage in your attack. For bows, works in a arrow basis. So if you hit a monster with a bow, each arrow has a chance of getting 25% more damage. Confusing af
These builds are great though they lack some of the newer things that have come out since the video was made. I Updated the build for 2024, if anyone is interested it is All Safi elemental bows speced in the same way as the video with the elemental awakens, Silver Rathalos Essence, and Augments. Silver Rathalos B Helmet, Chest and Arms. Fatalis A Waist. Raging Brachydios B Legs. For the decorations you will need the Expert Jewel+ 4 and the elemental attack up Jewel in the bow. Helmet needs another Expert Jewel+ 4 and a Spread Jewel. Chest needs a Shaver Jewel. Arms will need a Critical/Vitality Jewel and Mighty Bow Jewel. Waist is Fortitude/Physique Jewel, Forceshot Jewel, and Spread Jewel. Legs needs a Physique Jewel+ 4 and two Vitality Jewels. Charm will be the maxed out elemental charm that goes with your bow. If you don't have the second Expert Jewel+ 4 for the helmet, just slot in any Expert jewel you have. You won't have 100% affinity but you'll have 95% affinity which shouldn't be a big deal since this updated set had Crit boost 3 and shaver for good up time of soften parts which should make up for not having max Affinity. If you are missing some of the rarer decorations, I recommend doing the Mew are Number One Event quest since you can get some of the decorations required for this set. I would definitely say that this would be considered a Pro+ Build since you need to have beaten Fatalis and Raging Brachydios and have some very rare decorations. Though if you can build it it is fairly comfortable. Good Luck and happy hunting!
Am I understanding the wiki correctly that the Mighty Bow decoration only has a 0.273% chance to be in a worn, or 0.682% chance to be in a warped feystone? What the heck?

Ok so my question is why did he drop crit boost almost entirely? And I know that crit boost only increases the raw multiplier but with the safi bows having really good raw wouldn't still be good?
To be fair Normal Shot and Power/Spread Shot also only affects Raw damage, so it was either that or the Critical Boost. I guess he could have had Power/Spread Shot 1 and Critical Boost 3 for better damage without sacrificing anything.

I would love to see a video about the other heavy bowgun from safi since I'm a huge heavy bowgun fan and at the moment dont know what to do with the other hbgs. The spread one which u covered in a video already is getting used a lot by me (sadly just the budget build :( ). Keep up the amazing work and ty for everything so far!
In my experience, the hard part is getting the silver rathalos essence to show up. I have 50 stored potential but still no silver rathalos essence. Feels like impossible to get one in a single bow but there are 5 bows in total. I have all the decos and can build the pro easily but the only problem is the essence.
I've done it and you just have to spend a lot of time and quit if it goes south since it doesn't save as long as you are still with the smithy. What I can suggest you is to roll it for first: get your weapon of choice and slam in a defense 1 or other lv 1 awakening that you won't need in order to keep the awakened level low thus requiring less points for the next awakening skill, roll it when it's low level so you will have more rolls for your tries and yes, that's the best way I've found out. I still need to grind for the water bow though..
Loved every second of this video. Thanks for this. I farmed safi jiva to death. The bow and hunting horn are the one weapons I have yet to master and now that safi is gone I’m preparing myself to start playing with them. This video helped a lot. Also the budget pro etc builds are great ideas. Loved it. Most players don’t have time to farm decos. I’m sure those builds help them a lot but for players like myself it gives me an idea of what to shoot for on my builds. I chose a blast bow, thinking it was the right choice given how much damage blast does but it seems that I may have made a mistake in my bow choice. I was sad to see only one blast build in this video. I still would give the video a 5 star rating though. Thank you guys for your time! Please keep up the good work!

Love the comfy bow builds! Great that the pro build has 3con, gives you the option of running 1 with stamina surge instead etc. Wondering if running Golden Helm for Weakness Exploit could be good as well (guess it depends on Critical eye)
Thank you for this great video! I'll go for the medium build, as I don't have any xxx/vitality deco. Just a suggestion for medium elemental set: by switching Silver Solcoil and Garuga legs for Namielle waist alpha and Silver Solgraves beta, we gain one extra slot for Spread/Power Shots lv 2 and 1 point of Stamina Surge and loose only that single Crit Boost point ;)
I have around 350 hours in the game, still no bow charge or minds eye jewels but i do have a good amount of tenderizer, attack, and crit jewels. If only i could trade them
I carry the bows but with another set of skills I have it tested. I have the silver rathalos set but after much testing I found a better build. it is 3 pieces of zafijiva that gives us dracovena and 2 pieces of velkana the 2 pieces of velkana gives us a critical element added to points of latent power is unstoppable. latent power is activated quickly as zafi's ability takes life from us

Personal preference for me, but feel free to either ignore this or try it out. Drop a resentment deco and the tenderizer/vitality. Put a Phoenix/something else in the free lvl 4 and move the tenderizer to the free lvl 2. Blight resist lvl 2 makes coalescence proc easier, and since all the things you can use the blast bow set against apply a blight this works out better for more damage.
The medium builds are perfect for me as I want to have Bow as my true secondary weapon so the medium builds will help me get right into it. Thank you so much for making this.

If you are going to utilize silver rath essence for an awakened ability, why not use two piece Namielle with 4 piece TCE? Are there no decos you can farm to make that perform better? Nami has a host of built ins that help bow, is it just not possible to guarantee 100% crit with it? And separately, do you think the loss of the 60 element from one Element up V as opposed to silver rath essence is worth the trade for the better utility? I personally like the utility, I'm just wondering *edited for clarification
Nickky G Its person preference, but when comparing damage from TCE to Namielle 4 set, or 2 set w/ Velkhanna 2 set; TCE is better, but for normal players it may matter less.
Well i mean the builds aren't meant to be set in stone just some ideas, like for me personally I made a anjanath dominance and tCE set for comfortability, and better stamina management and you lose literally nothing to run it.
Iirc you get more damage when using a regular element attack V then using the namielle set bonus. Plus the element attack V is always active unlike the Namielle set bonus which is only active sometimes
Appreciate the inclusion of budget builds here, want to add though for fully optimized DPS people should refer to Phemeto's recent videos on gunner builds.
Can try to get lucky with melding tickets from Steam works or farm+++, Lavasioth deco event has a better chance than jagras event if both are out at the same time, Otherwise one or the other. However, farming these will limit your deco drops to HR only.
id say farm to get the silver melding ticket from the steamworks (so guidimg lands) the amount of rare decos is insane it makes my 100+ tempered lavasioth farming in base game useless.
I got my 1st might bow from tempered Silver Rath, and my 2nd one from a great girros (both in the GL). There is also the melding tickets from steamworks, or plain old tempered investigations. Should be easier to obtain now than it was in base game. Best of luck farming it 👍
So don't know how much this will help , but i got a BUNCH of mighty bow decos , my first ones too , and i don't play bow either , from arch tempered lavasioth. Got like 4 of them from him , not really grinding my ass of either
Just wanted to let you guys know that, in my quest to manifest Silver Rathalos Essence on my SafiBolt, I've discovered that the stored potential number caps out at 99. The skills you can manifest cap out ability-wise much sooner. I have one bow with Silver Rath because it literally came with the bow. I do not use that bow right now anyway because Alatreon's bow took its place. The coatings are nice. I may or may not be passing out at my desk at 3AM to discover this.

@@vxsios Yeah, you don't really need all those stamina skills though, as long as you have dash juice I think 3 cons and 1 surge should be fine. I'd recommend vitality jewels if you haven't slotted them already

Does anyone know how to unlock the guild palace weapons? i know the bow's name is Royal North Wing but i literally can't find one piece of info on how to unlock any of them. I've only seen a few people using them in game. First i thought you unlocked the weapons the same way you unlock the Guild Palace armor so i ran the arenas again, but no look. Anyone have any idea?
@@drzlink yeah i don't think its just from arenas. I already have full guild palace armor and A's in all the arenas. even did the challenges and still no weapons.
It’s a couple damage less per arrow, but is ways easier to optimize than 5 ele awakens while being more comfy. None of theses builds are max damage builds, besides maybe the blast build. Haven’t awakened that bow yet. Fire bow build gets way better with the silver rath alpha gear too. If you’re interested in the max damage builds and have the decos for it, check out Phemetos video. I’d personally recommend sre for casual runs though.
Joshua Couch Yea i can’t seem to be able to run max health boost with the usual Silv Rath 4 pieces and garuga. I’m not aiming for Full dmg tho, i’m more a comfy guy btw is critical boost irrevelant ? he chose to leave it at lv1, i guess it’s a couple of damage difference per arrow again right ?
The silver rathalos set, if you separate it from its skill set, is very bad, so removing the imposition of one of its pieces gives space to greater versatility when equipping the character. The same goes for master touch that gives you room to remove the belt and use something else if you choose to use a weapon without nitro.
brago90 yes but you forget that you lose an awakened ability slot, which is huge. The question now is, is that ability slot worth the piece you exchange for ? i tried to use SRE on weap and swapped silver head beta for rajang beta and it could be better, but man the loss of Elem V is a big deal
Update for anyone interested, got true crit element and it's big numbers for sure. Especially with the Safi bows I recently got! Now I'm currently running the full Safi blast build for guiding lands and its pretty epic so far.

@Mkdggy it's pretty great so far, I'm still earlier into leveling them up. It does lose a bit to elemental bows but not enough for me to notice. Just a heads up that fatalis bow and armor is the better all-purpose bow build, if you have it.
ya know, the only thing they can do to make Safi weps absolutely perfect? Add a 7th slot that only fits aesthetic attachments to the wep, so you can tag a monsters look on it.
For people who are aiming for this build. You don't need Kirin jacket and crit eye 7 (4 is enough) . Just use 4p/sliver and save awakening slot for something better.

Isn't Stamina Surge better than Constitution? You can proxy Constitution with Dash Juice + Felyne Black Belt, but there is no substitute for Stamina Surge

for the blast bow if you don't have a tenderizer/vitality jewel 4 just use a furor/vitality jewel 4 and in the spot that has the first jewel 2 put a tenderizer jewel 2
Now we need sword & shield builds, i cant find any ideas for one as ive never touched it but willing to start on it!! Make a sns chris your builds are amazing.
Try head rathalos B+,chest Kirin+ a+, braces rathalos B+, coil Rathalos B+, greaves rathalos B+ and fitness charm IV. Put health bonus on mantles (inmunity and flying mantles that have 30 sec. between them). You dont need to sacrifice anything in order to have the offensive skills and health boost this way. It uses normal shot and spread lv1, critical boost lv1(3 with flying mantle; vitality/critical jewel x2). Also has full slinger capacity, critical eye lv7, elemental attack boost lv6, weaknesd exploit lv3, mighty bow, and constitution lv5/4 to have health boost lv3/2 at will, changing a single lv4 jewel, the one health/tenderizer or vitality/tenderizer, and using mantles. There is no need for temporal mantle or rocksteady mantle with bows. It is just waste of time and resources. Using mantles for health boost in bows as may not seem, is truly comfortable since inmunity mantle and flying mantle recovery time are short with a long effect durability.

I think that normal 2 would be better as it's a 20 percent increase vs 15 percent from spread 2. No?

In my experience, the hard part is getting the silver rathalos essence to show up. I have 50 stored potential but still no silver rathalos essence. Feels like impossible to get one in a single bow but there are 5 bows in total. I have all the decos and can build the pro easily but the only problem is the essence.
I've done it and you just have to spend a lot of time and quit if it goes south since it doesn't save as long as you are still with the smithy. What I can suggest you is to roll it for first: get your weapon of choice and slam in a defense 1 or other lv 1 awakening that you won't need in order to keep the awakened level low thus requiring less points for the next awakening skill, roll it when it's low level so you will have more rolls for your tries and yes, that's the best way I've found out. I still need to grind for the water bow though..
I've had it pop up quite a number of times and I always feel bad passing it up. Feels bad man.

Loved every second of this video. Thanks for this. I farmed safi jiva to death. The bow and hunting horn are the one weapons I have yet to master and now that safi is gone I’m preparing myself to start playing with them. This video helped a lot.
Also the budget pro etc builds are great ideas. Loved it. Most players don’t have time to farm decos. I’m sure those builds help them a lot but for players like myself it gives me an idea of what to shoot for on my builds.
I chose a blast bow, thinking it was the right choice given how much damage blast does but it seems that I may have made a mistake in my bow choice. I was sad to see only one blast build in this video. I still would give the video a 5 star rating though.

Love the comfy bow builds! Great that the pro build has 3con, gives you the option of running 1 with stamina surge instead etc. Wondering if running Golden Helm for Weakness Exploit could be good as well (guess it depends on Critical eye)
Thank you for this great video! I'll go for the medium build, as I don't have any xxx/vitality deco. Just a suggestion for medium elemental set: by switching Silver Solcoil and Garuga legs for Namielle waist alpha and Silver Solgraves beta, we gain one extra slot for Spread/Power Shots lv 2 and 1 point of Stamina Surge and loose only that single Crit Boost point ;)
For that Tenderizer/Vitality gem, I assume you need to farm threat 3 tempered monsters?

You can also wait a few weeks and get another special ticket item during the Year two celebration at the steamworks

I have the silver rathalos set but after much testing I found a better build.
it is 3 pieces of zafijiva that gives us dracovena and 2 pieces of velkana the 2 pieces of velkana gives us a critical element added to points of latent power is unstoppable.
latent power is activated quickly as zafi's ability takes life from us

Personal preference for me, but feel free to either ignore this or try it out. Drop a resentment deco and the tenderizer/vitality. Put a Phoenix/something else in the free lvl 4 and move the tenderizer to the free lvl 2. Blight resist lvl 2 makes coalescence proc easier, and since all the things you can use the blast bow set against apply a blight this works out better for more damage.

If you are going to utilize silver rath essence for an awakened ability, why not use two piece Namielle with 4 piece TCE? Are there no decos you can farm to make that perform better? Nami has a host of built ins that help bow, is it just not possible to guarantee 100% crit with it? And separately, do you think the loss of the 60 element from one Element up V as opposed to silver rath essence is worth the trade for the better utility? I personally like the utility, I'm just wondering

Nickky G Its person preference, but when comparing damage from TCE to Namielle 4 set, or 2 set w/ Velkhanna 2 set; TCE is better, but for normal players it may matter less.
Well i mean the builds aren't meant to be set in stone just some ideas, like for me personally I made a anjanath dominance and tCE set for comfortability, and better stamina management and you lose literally nothing to run it.

Iirc you get more damage when using a regular element attack V then using the namielle set bonus. Plus the element attack V is always active unlike the Namielle set bonus which is only active sometimes

Can try to get lucky with melding tickets from Steam works or farm+++, Lavasioth deco event has a better chance than jagras event if both are out at the same time, Otherwise one or the other. However, farming these will limit your deco drops to HR only.
id say farm to get the silver melding ticket from the steamworks (so guidimg lands) the amount of rare decos is insane it makes my 100+ tempered lavasioth farming in base game useless.
I got my 1st might bow from tempered Silver Rath, and my 2nd one from a great girros (both in the GL). There is also the melding tickets from steamworks, or plain old tempered investigations. Should be easier to obtain now than it was in base game. Best of luck farming it 👍

Just wanted to let you guys know that, in my quest to manifest Silver Rathalos Essence on my SafiBolt, I've discovered that the stored potential number caps out at 99.
The skills you can manifest cap out ability-wise much sooner.
I have one bow with Silver Rath because it literally came with the bow.
I do not use that bow right now anyway because Alatreon's bow took its place. The coatings are nice.
I may or may not be passing out at my desk at 3AM to discover this.

Crit boost 3 doesn't affect elemental damage, where most of your dps will be coming from. For that you want "crit element" and "true crit element"

@@vxsios Yeah, you don't really need all those stamina skills though, as long as you have dash juice I think 3 cons and 1 surge should be fine. I'd recommend vitality jewels if you haven't slotted them already

Does anyone know how to unlock the guild palace weapons? i know the bow's name is Royal North Wing but i literally can't find one piece of info on how to unlock any of them. I've only seen a few people using them in game. First i thought you unlocked the weapons the same way you unlock the Guild Palace armor so i ran the arenas again, but no look. Anyone have any idea?

It’s a couple damage less per arrow, but is ways easier to optimize than 5 ele awakens while being more comfy. None of theses builds are max damage builds, besides maybe the blast build. Haven’t awakened that bow yet. Fire bow build gets way better with the silver rath alpha gear too. If you’re interested in the max damage builds and have the decos for it, check out Phemetos video. I’d personally recommend sre for casual runs though.

The silver rathalos set, if you separate it from its skill set, is very bad, so removing the imposition of one of its pieces gives space to greater versatility when equipping the character.
The same goes for master touch that gives you room to remove the belt and use something else if you choose to use a weapon without nitro.

The question now is, is that ability slot worth the piece you exchange for ?
i tried to use SRE on weap and swapped silver head beta for rajang beta and it could be better, but man the loss of Elem V is a big deal

Update for anyone interested, got true crit element and it's big numbers for sure. Especially with the Safi bows I recently got! Now I'm currently running the full Safi blast build for guiding lands and its pretty epic so far.

@Mkdggy it's pretty great so far, I'm still earlier into leveling them up. It does lose a bit to elemental bows but not enough for me to notice. Just a heads up that fatalis bow and armor is the better all-purpose bow build, if you have it.
ya know, the only thing they can do to make Safi weps absolutely perfect?
Add a 7th slot that only fits aesthetic attachments to the wep, so you can tag a monsters look on it.

Isn't Stamina Surge better than Constitution? You can proxy Constitution with Dash Juice + Felyne Black Belt, but there is no substitute for Stamina Surge

for the blast bow if you don't have a tenderizer/vitality jewel 4 just use a furor/vitality jewel 4 and in the spot that has the first jewel 2 put a tenderizer jewel 2

Make a sns chris your builds are amazing.
Try head rathalos B+,chest Kirin+ a+, braces rathalos B+, coil Rathalos B+, greaves rathalos B+ and fitness charm IV. Put health bonus on mantles (inmunity and flying mantles that have 30 sec. between them). You dont need to sacrifice anything in order to have the offensive skills and health boost this way. It uses normal shot and spread lv1, critical boost lv1(3 with flying mantle; vitality/critical jewel x2). Also has full slinger capacity, critical eye lv7, elemental attack boost lv6, weaknesd exploit lv3, mighty bow, and constitution lv5/4 to have health boost lv3/2 at will, changing a single lv4 jewel, the one health/tenderizer or vitality/tenderizer, and using mantles. There is no need for temporal mantle or rocksteady mantle with bows. It is just waste of time and resources. Using mantles for health boost in bows as may not seem, is truly comfortable since inmunity mantle and flying mantle recovery time are short with a long effect durability.
