God's walls around things like relationships & marriage & sex are not prison bars locking us away from joys, but instead are castle walls protecting us from the brokenness in the world around these things. True joy in relationship can only be found inside those protective hedges, for that is where God's heart resides...and we all know, that He's where the TRUE joy is!
Thank you for this. I love love love this perspective. I pray that my husband would see our marriage as joy and not a prison. Thank you again. I so appreciate your comment. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Our Creator had us in mind when He invented physical pleasure for His glory and our joy. He isn't only concerned about our spiritual pleasure but every aspect of our lives. This sure blessed me, thanks TLC ❤
Thank you for helping us “plow through” so many of the unusual things in the Bible. Our biggest blessing this year has been doing this plan as a family, including pre-teen grandchildren. We are grateful for the opportunity it affords to speak our “God-shot” into their lives! We also reward them every 50 days as a Jubilee milestone.
I am on my 3rd time doing Bible Recap. The first time was in 2021 when i lost my husband of 58 years, I was so sad and lost without him and this gave me something that I promised myself i would do every morning. As I listen to Tara - Leigh Cobble then read the scripture then pray. I feel closer to God and it gives me direction and peace. Thank you.
Aloha and good morning BR family. Thank you, TLC, for everyday giving me a better understanding of God's words. Without this plan, I would not have followed through with daily reading his words. Praise and honor to God for his blessings favors. He is where the JOY is!!!🙏
Even though this is a romantic love story between a man and a woman, the bride and the groom, this book reminds me of God's great love for His children. As the church, we are called the bride, while Jesus Christ is called our bridegroom. God loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son so that anyone who believes can be saved (John 3: 16). Marriage is a beautiful covenant that God created. It is a reflection of Jesus Christ and the church. God's love is greater than anything else we could ever experience. It is greater than fine wine (Song of Solomon 1: 2). Let my heart always long for my true first love, the Lord Jesus. Thank you, Tara-Leigh, for the reminder that God is the creator of all things, including sex.
I had a few 😳 moments in this book of the Bible! 😂 But, my God shot came from her insecurities of her appearance and how gently the man reaffirmed her beauty in his eyes. It reveals to me how God sees me. Chapter 7 verse 6 got me! "How beautiful and pleasant you are, O loved one, with all your delights!" It was as if God spoke right to my heart! I delight in Him and He delights in me! O love of my life! My God! My heart is Yours! ❤ 🥰
This segment was so much more sensual than I could have imagined! As a retired English teacher, I know and appreciate the language of love in poetry and in song. Quite beautiful! So grateful that we are reminded that God has a plan for ALL aspects of our lives - spiritual, emotional, and physical.
Want to invigorate your marriage? One of the best experiences that my wife and I had was reading this book, along with other married couples, as if it were play. Each of us would take up one part in the unfolding dialogue. It’s a true testimony that there were tears among us. Amen
I am so glad I found you. I am caught up right now and look forward to reading my Bible every morning. Praise God. The Bible recap is helping me to understand God’s word.
I just want to again say thank you for taking the time to walk us through the bible in a way we can read, absorb and retain which has always been a struggle for me. I have also been able to have 3 other people in my circle that have started the plan as well!! Thanks for your obedience in walking us through the greatest story of all time!!
love love reading the Bible with TBR and these summaries and insights from Tara-Leigh are so valuable for me, in growing closer to God and learning about God. Today, 2 June, in 2019 I was baptised and my perspective in whom I believe changed, reading the Bible has changed me personally and I am grateful to God and the TBR team 🌸
My teenage granddaughter is doing recap also. Occasionally we get to talk about our readings. What a blessing to share with the next generation! I wonder what discussions she and her mom will have today.😮
How old is your granddaughter? I tried to have my 11 year old son read along with me this year, but he couldn't keep up. My sweet best friend's daughter is 12 and she's been trying to keep up with me. It's fascinating. I love that you're doing that for your granddaughter. How blessed is she!
I am so grateful how my husband feels about me.. Whenever we r in public, he tells me I did it again!! Which means I am the most beautiful to him in the room!!
How poetic and beautiful The Song of Songs. It is so different from other books in the Bible. A love story with no mention of God. It amazes me God included it in His word.
I'm so blessed. I read this using my CSB study bible for women. It has a very thorough commentary that helped me understand more from this book than ever before. Thanks Tara for your take on this amazing book.
Hello fellow Bible readers! Mandie from Idaho here saying good morning and thank you for being my community and learning/reading along with me! I know He is where the joy is but you all also bring joy to my heart when we speak of Him and His awesomeness! ❤
Dear Tara, I love your humor & wisdom! And thank you, for the insight & clarification you added to this book, it’s been odd to me till now. I sooo much appreciate your ministry 🙌🏻
Tara-Leigh, your recap didn't disappoint. This book has been largely ignored and misunderstood by Christians and Bible readers, in my opinion. Your "catfish" comment made me chuckle. Anyways, I just wanted to give you props on your explanation of this very beautiful book. ❤️🙏🏻
The beauty of the bride and the Groom. The Christ and his church. The longing for something and the void filled by Him. The spiritual and physical described in these chapters, fulfilled in the One True Love, Jesus. My physical body will be restored just as my spiritual life will be too. He wants a personal relationship with us. Look to Him.
As someone who's not that into poetry, this book isn't one of my favorites. I even wondered why it was included in the Bible. I really appreciated your God shot today. It helped me value this book, which I would not have done otherwise. Thanks, Tara-Leigh! This is my second time through the Bible with you, and I appreciate the background information, historical context, and commentary you provide in each episode.
This is my 2nd year through the Bible ❤ I love it more each day & look forward to starting my day with God’s scriptures. Thank you for these videos after each segment to help us understand even more how much God loves us! And Thank You for showing me that “He’s where the joy is❣️”
I believe in the allegory theory more so, as well as the romantic one as well. God’s love for His people and a man/woman relationship ordained by God is shown as beautiful.
Good morning Family ❤️❤️ Wow what a sensual book it reminds us of the beautiful gift God has given us within marriage ❤❤ Have a blessed day in His Presence ❤️💯
What a powerful book. I suggest reading it in the Passion Translation (TPT), Including the notes. I was totally wrecked by the depth of love God has for us, and how He delights in us loving Him.
Not her being catfished I love it Tara. I’m so enjoying going through the whole Bible with you. Marriage is sacred. As a married woman I understand and hold on to this.
God’s love, the love He plants and grows in us, recreates and restores the Garden of Eden in our lives. In Him, our love has no shame even as we are utterly vulnerable (Gen 2:25). Ravi Zacharias argues that of the world’s great religions, only JudeoChristianity is built on love and has a God of love. God loves us being in love and longing for love. I believe that even my daughter, who died after a mostly loveless marriage, is now fulfilled in her love in God’s presence. I believe that the single, godly women who are our sisters in Christ have a completely fulfilled and everlasting life of love awaiting them in the Garden of the New Heaven and New Earth (1 Cor 13:12). Praise God for His loving intimacy, for the various ways He makes His love known to us.
Love is a beautiful thing created by God Himself. In a world where love has been abused and sex outside marriage seems to be normal. An understanding of what the original design is meant to be is very important
Good morning friends! I just want you to know I have enjoyed learning from The Bible Recap so much. Things I never understood before come to light. It's amazing to finally understand more. Thank you guys for all you do! Cindy from Georgia.
Keep going, TLC! Im on my 3rd trip through the bible, second time with you. The first time I did it on my own, and I definitely prefer reading it “with” you. Your recap vidoes and tools have been vital to my priority time. I recommend your videos to anyone interested in reading the bible. Thank you for the work you are allowing God to do through you!
Amen!!! Such a great word, Tara! Can’t wait to see you in October! You have helped my walk with the Lord greatly by devoting your time to explain the word to us! I can’t thank you enough
Well, here's what I wrote: Well, this was a lesson with blushing from one verse to the next. Felt like I should say, "get a room!" But it shows me that God has made us to be attractive to each other. He didn't just make us to exist, but to find physical pleasure, just as we should find emotional and spiritual pleasure with each other.
Song of Songs 6:1 (MSG) "The Chorus: So where has this love of yours gone, fair one? Where on earth can he be? Can we help you look for him? "The Woman: Never mind. My lover is already on his way to his garden, to browse among the flowers, touching the colors and forms. I am my lover’s and my lover is mine. He caresses the sweet-smelling flowers." Yes, all this means exactly what you think it means! 😄
I have read through the Bible several times, but first time with the Bible Recap, wanting to be on the same page with my wife as we go through the year. I would have like to have seen an acknowledgement of what Scripture is saying regarding the continuing physical relationship in marriage. Repeatedly, the bridegroom indicates his appreciation and desire for his beloved, and very specifically about sensual body attributes. I find that I hear way too often in believers' marriages where sex is being back burner through every season of life, and a stigma is often placed on the husband who wants more intimacy from his spouse. While this book is more about the honeymoon or beginning of the love relationship, other Scripture points to the continued pure and shared intimacy throughout the marriage ( Proverbs 5:18-19 is very clear and specific about this, and states what we already know about men-they are attracted to the female form, especially breasts ). And Paul is very clear in 1st Corinthians 7:5 regarding active intimate relationship, with the exception of short agreed upon times for prayer. So let's be honest, when was the last time you declined sexual intimacy with your spouse because you both agreed to a season of prayer? And what were the reasons you used all those other times? I am not talking about abusive relationships or demeaning peculiarities, but that there is mutual respect and consideration for each other. But it is wrong to give the message, and also therefore the example to younger couples that sex is tainted or no longer important.
Song of Solomon Very layered book. It is a story about human love and an allegory about God’s love for us. Young Hebrews boys were forbidden to read it bc it was too risqué. The romantic view of the book follows the progression of the ancient Jewish relationship from courtship to wedding feast, to wedding to marriage. The shepherdess expresses her love for the shepherd. He feels the same. 3 times she says do not awaken love until it’s time. Stay sexually pure until marriage. She praises the shepherd to all. She even dreams about him. Her brothers describe 2 types of women: A door- a woman who opens herself up without discretion. A wall- a woman who keeps herself closed off to men sexually. Her brothers protect her. She is a “wall.” God affirms His good design for marriage and sex. 2 common views about sex. Sex is not dirty and bad and God opposes it. Or sex isn’t a big deal. Neither is correct. God invented relationships and sex. He is the inventor and He wants us to know how to use what He made so we don’t break it, harm ourselves or others. He graciously tells us how these things He invented can function optimally for His glory and our joy. He is so kind!
I learned a whole lot in this segment. Sixty queens there may be, and eighty concubines, and virgins beyond number; Based of Chapter 6 verse 8, I assumed the bride wasn't the first woman Solomon had. Power recap today.
I’m the past when I read Song of Songs, I was never fond of the overly spiritual interpretations of the book (think the passion translation, that one really takes the cake) and thought it was mainly about human sexuality. But in recent years as I’ve grown with the Lord, he has opened my eyes to see and know that the intimacy and sexuality portrayed in this book of the Bible is really an earthly reflection which, yes, he authorized and created, of the kind intimacy that he deeply desires with humankind to have with us, his church, an intimacy so deep with Jesus, the idea of such intimacy transcending all human sexuality….sounds scary if you really comprehend it. It’s come to the point for me…how can you see this and not see God and the kind of intimacy he wants with us? Intimacy to the point where we become so focused on him and that we become so much like him? Is this the kind of deep beyond sexual intimacy that Jesus was referring to when he said things like “I never knew you” concerning those who would try to get into the kingdom by merely doing the works? I love Tara’s recaps but I feel like she kinda missed the forest for the trees with this one.
Songs 2:4 "He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love." We use to sing a worship song with these lyrics when I was younger and I found this rendition: ruclips.net/video/gsPB6zgd184/видео.htmlsi=KC3CFdLoYhRAcc8E
Great TLC God Shot today .. I also enjoy the included , Bible Project RUclips for Song of Solomon .. I support it as best I can .. well , me / WE could always do better .. even at encouraging , right ? .. .. anyway , it is indeed amazing that this book is included in scripture .. .. it is amazing that it is referenced by Paul in the NT , as TLC mentioned .. .. it is amazing that Jesus is coming back to take up his Bride and carry her to the Wedding Feast to beat all Wedding Feasts ! .. & soon .. Radiant Bride ! .. that’s us .. .. refined and beautify .. - Revelations 22:17 .. it’s almost time , Brothers and Sisters in Christ ! .. .. to-the-end-of-our Canonized Bible .. .. as well as the end of things .. .. even so .. .. come Lord Jesus .. - ( Revelations 22:21 )
To properly enjoy the creation surrounding us, first consult with the Creator. God makes understanding too. It's almost like cheating. Christ is for our advantage!
God is intentional. God intentionally added this book to the bible. God created Marriage and made it a license for sexual pleasure. But the world has abused it. But according to the Songs od Solomon God's love will eventually prevail over this dying world. He's Where The Joy is
Be careful, the things of the spirit are to be discern spiritually 1 cor 2:14,15, the BIble is not a book of history or literature, the Bible is a spiritual book about God; pay no attention to what this lady says about the daily study, let the Holy Gosh give you understanding about the word of God
I LOVE how you said that like a good inventor, you want to give instructions on how to use it and not break it. That is sooo good, and it totally makes sense! You COULD use it in this way or that, but that's not how it was intended, and it won't be as great as how the inventor created it to be 🩷 Brilliant!
Thank you for being here
Praise the living GOD for HIS love towards us

Beautifully said
My dad (a pastor then) married my husband & I 39 years ago. When exchanging vows he had us say… I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine. ❤
My husband & I had our wedding bands engraved with "I am my beloved's".
Our Creator had us in mind when He invented physical pleasure for His glory and our joy. He isn't only concerned about our spiritual pleasure but every aspect of our lives.

These were my exact thoughts and even noted the same!!
My Godshot was the verse that said, “Love is as strong as death”. It reminded of God’s love for us even to the point of death ❤
Believe me these Bible recaps are awesome!!
I tell you! "Awesome" is an understatement

2024; He is where the Joy is. ❤
Dear Tara, I love your humor & wisdom! And thank you, for the insight & clarification you added to this book, it’s been odd to me till now.
I sooo much appreciate your ministry 🙌🏻
This was a great takeaway. Be a wall; not a door! -Song of Songs 8:9-10
Tara-Leigh, your recap didn't disappoint. This book has been largely ignored and misunderstood by Christians and Bible readers, in my opinion. Your "catfish" comment made me chuckle. Anyways, I just wanted to give you props on your explanation of this very beautiful book. ❤️🙏🏻
Love that “ not a catfish “ I can relate I was that fish or cat. Thankful to God for changing my life.

I believe in the allegory theory more so, as well as the romantic one as well. God’s love for His people and a man/woman relationship ordained by God is shown as beautiful.
What a blessing this pod cast has been for me. Thank you .🥰
Good morning Family ❤️❤️ Wow what a sensual book it reminds us of the beautiful gift God has given us within marriage ❤❤ Have a blessed day in His Presence ❤️💯

As a woman who waited until marriage I respect this passage of Scripture.
Amen Tara-Leigh Cobble!
Gotta say , you did a great job discussing this sometimes sensitive book . 🙏😘
Ok... I 😂😂😂 thru most of this. We were at a marriage retreat and couples had to recite this in whatever way. There was a clear winner. 😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for doing this - this has been life changing for the way I do my bible reading
Beatiful book

We use to sing a worship song with these lyrics when I was younger and I found this rendition: ruclips.net/video/gsPB6zgd184/видео.htmlsi=KC3CFdLoYhRAcc8E

.. anyway , it is indeed amazing that this book is included in scripture ..
.. it is amazing that it is referenced by Paul in the NT , as TLC mentioned ..
.. it is amazing that Jesus is coming back to take up his Bride and carry her to the Wedding Feast to beat all Wedding Feasts ! .. & soon ..
Radiant Bride !
.. that’s us ..
.. refined and beautify ..

.. it’s almost time , Brothers and Sisters in Christ ! ..
.. to-the-end-of-our Canonized Bible ..
.. as well as the end of things ..
.. even so ..
.. come Lord Jesus ..
- ( Revelations 22:21 )
Thank you TLC!
I actually love this book. God shows that sex is great in the marriage bed most of all!
To properly enjoy the creation surrounding us, first consult with the Creator. God makes understanding too. It's almost like cheating. Christ is for our advantage!
Toward the end of the book she says she wishes her love would have nursed at the same breast as her…I would love to hear some explanation of that.
The "God Shot" here is that "Real True Love" comes from God himself. See John 3:16 for proof. Otherwise, any questions?
Hey Bible Readers!
🖤🌿🕊
God is intentional. God intentionally added this book to the bible.
God created Marriage and made it a license for sexual pleasure.
But the world has abused it.
But according to the Songs od Solomon God's love will eventually prevail over this dying world.
He's Where The Joy is
Be careful, the things of the spirit are to be discern spiritually 1 cor 2:14,15, the BIble is not a book of history or literature, the Bible is a spiritual book about God; pay no attention to what this lady says about the daily study, let the Holy Gosh give you understanding about the word of God
It IS way too risque. Shouldn’t be in the Bible.
I LOVE how you said that like a good inventor, you want to give instructions on how to use it and not break it. That is sooo good, and it totally makes sense! You COULD use it in this way or that, but that's not how it was intended, and it won't be as great as how the inventor created it to be 🩷 Brilliant!
