  • DAY 3 - and we thought it would be nice to read some of your comments. However, it would appear that Nadia has already strained her back and it is slowly dawning on Mark that he is infact as much a FOOD ADDICT as he is a Recovering Alcoholic ...

    The best way to think about it if you have a day not as ‘on plan’ as you’d hope... imagine you have a vase of 7 roses...if one of them died you wouldn’t throw the other 6 away...that’s the best way to think about your days of the week! I’m on a journey to be healthier in body and mind! Keep going everyone! X

    Didn`t know i`d any missed vlogs left ,so this and day 4 are a bonus.Mark i totally empathise ,as i`ve had food issues all my life (i`m sure the fact i eat so little is the result of years of depriving myself).I no longer starve ,i no longer easily gain weight ,but i acknowledge my relationship with food isn`t a healthy one.Hope your back soon eases up Nadia .Stretching is much better for us than vigorous (gym?( type exercise anyway.I also did everything "right" growing up and walked/swam/cycled everywhere.It didn`t prevent the degenerative arthritis i now have.I refuse to let it define my life however ,and even if i can make it to the post box and back ,i`ll do it!Every step ,in whatever we are (battling) ,is a step in the right direction.Thankyou so much for these vlogs ,you have no idea what a boost you`re giving others in the same/similar situations.Xx

    Hope you are feeling better Mark and your back improves Nadia. I'm just recovering from flu. Went out and bought some Tumeric, fresh Ginger, Honey and Lemons going to try a mug of that when I get up every morning. I have ordered a fitbit, and plan to get at least 10,000 steps a day. You are such an inspiration and I love all your Vlogs, you dont know how much you have helped me the past year, I dont know where I would be without you all. Such a lovely down to earth family, thats why I love you all xx

    Hi guys! Thank you for the shout out, and exceedingly complimentary words! I feel vicariously famous! @Mark, I've just opened a new fangled Instagram account as I don't really do social media, being a professional luddite, so I'll send you a "DM", (had to look that up), in the next few days. @Nadia, you are spot on with the walking thing (vs gym), and @Mark, with regard to finding alternatives to driving. I was back in the UK for a month and walked almost exclusively, as opposed to exclusively driving as I do in the US, and I lost 10 lbs in 4 weeks!! Without trying. Time to hide my car keys...

    Thank you so much from Sydney, Australia.
    My husband started a 4 day juice cleanse today so after watching you - I have joined him.
    We really have lost our way over the last couple of years for no particular reason other than being in our fifties wirh teenagers.
    I also struggle with mental health issues and if I don't achieve perfectly I really beat up on myself. Your candidness and self-talk really is comforting.
    I love you two and will keep up my motivation for January.

    Nadia I've been watching you on tv since I was a young girl, me and my mum have always admired you. We loved you in Eastenders and was so happy when you started on Loose Women. It's been lovely to see your family through your vlogs. Mark, you're amazing, thankyou for sharing, its really helpful to so many of us battling ourselves or supporting someone struggling and living with anxiety/depression. Thanku both for the advice and helpful words you say I've been writing down the ones that I can relate to in my 'little book of positivity' ! Thank you so much for creating your RUclips channel. I can't wait to catch up on all the content. Xx
    I'm currently on my own journey to health and happiness with 8 stone to lose. I've dropped 1st 5lb since June but super determined to make 2019 the year I make it to target. Done it before but then gained it back due to many factors , mainly mental health, food addiction, meds and low self esteem. I used 'bad' food as a way of self harm knowing the destruction I was causing but with therapy and a brilliant support network and gp I'm on my climb back to liking myself again x

    Thanks for the mention guys and update on reading room, I took 12 bin bags to the dump so made some good progress then my back went 😩. Will pick it back up at the weekend and hopefully have it done and ready to use by Monday.
    These vlogs truly are great, you are both an inspiration to us all in so many different ways that it is hard to put into words. Also the getting to sleep early is so living the dream! Would love that and maybe once this reading room is complete I can make it a reality. Keep up the great work x

    The comment you read out about food addiction really resonated with me as I too have 8 (nearly 9) stone to lose. I also live with the retched depression/anxiety combo so find so many of the vlogs and comments helpful...it feels like one big community of sympathetic souls. I too am going to make my weigh in day Tuesday so it doesn’t feel such an isolated event and I can share with you all. I embarked on my Mile a Day in Any Way challenge on the first which is really helping me. Thank you for everything

    Hey guys..thanks for the mention. Im awestruck lol. But your right....school runs...family life....its been hectic trying to fit in a gym session! I need to clean up my eating...and just eat. I go for long periods without eating. Im thinking of yoga...what do you think? Need to stretch out...i also have back issues at times. Nadia your a joy...loose women...vlogs....you are just the same. God Bless. Thank you for keeping us all company. Also mum of two girls...trying to be a good example to them..trying to learn to love myself...but so bloody hard!!!

    Nadia and Mark - so glad that I'll continue to get my daily of dose of you two, plus Nanny Di, Maddie and Kiki w/ Vloguary. I thoroughly enjoyed all of Vlogmas! Watching you all throughout December made me long to make my dream of a Christmas in London a reality. Perhaps this year. I too would have lost my mind shopping in M&S and Sainsbury for holiday goodies. I salivated over all the sweets and cheeses you ate last month. In fact, every time I watched Vlogmas I ate treats as I knew I'd be seeing food and get hungry!
    Looking forward to my daily dose of all of you and hope to see Kay make an appearance or too.
    I watch Loose Women via RUclips everyday and only wish I could see the show in its entirety in New York City where I live as it is sooooooooooooo much better than some of our talk shows.

    I love your channel and all of your vlogs! I suffer from Severe Depressive Anxiety with Panic Attacks Disorder and Depression.. Due to this I have struggled with my weight as I have stress/binge ate in the past due to the anxiety and keeping a balanced diet became difficult. Through watching your vlogs I have started the new year with a different outlook on life and positive mind set to stick to my new healthy lifestyle. It's day 2 and it has been a slight struggle but not as bad as what I thought it would be. I have made changes in my diet such as eating less processed food and swapping foods such as having whole wheat pasta instead of white pasta and drinking plenty of water throughout the day. One of the main struggles I had was being able to go out and exercise because of the position with my mental health. I never felt that I looked good enough and that everyone was judging me. Now out walking every day or every second day which has improved my mental health and morale greatly. I am currently between a size 26/28 and my first goal is to get down to a size 24. Thank you for you amazing vlogs!

    I just wanted to say how much I freaking love your videos especially vloguary It has honestly helped me so much already I have tried out the lemon detox drink and I love it it makes me feel so refreshed and amazing I think every single person in the world should have it every morning anyway I am definatly not a active person and my diet is Shocking but even day 3 of Vloguary has made me feel amazing seriously I can not thank you enough seriously thank you so so much god bless you all xxxxx

    Marks weigh in face lol 😂🤣 so funny, you two are putting lots of pressure on yourselves, to me you both look great, but understand you want to feel a bit better 👍 there is a saying that depression is caused by living in the past, anxiety looking in the future, but happiness is living in the here and now (like dogs do)easier said than done I know, but guess why dogs always seem so happy 🐶 btw I look back and forward, so I definitely need to get in the now, I’ve also bought a self help mindfulness book so I’ll keep you posted 💕love you guys btw loving vloguary as I did last year, brightens up a horrid month 💕

    Hello all and Happy New Year!! Here’s a great snack idea for when you want a sweet “cheat”
    Mix together:
    Almonds
    Dried cranberries
    Sunflower seeds
    Chocolate chips (regular size or the minis)
    Walnuts
    (Any other nut of choice)
    I eat this when I am looking for something sweet/salty and I do not feel guilty eating it and I get to have something tasty!
    🥳🎆❤️ best of luck on your healthy journey! I am trying to do the same!! I actually made eggs and without toast for breakfast this morning. Thanks to Nadia and I feel good about making a small change to my diet. Small steps lead to bigger steps and achieving goals! The rewards are much sweeter!

    I’ve only ever looked at co-dependency in reference to relationships - for example, my mother and sister have always had a co-dependent relationship; each advocating and putting emphasis on “mental illness states” (so for my mother it’s agoraphobia and my sister it’s BPD) - my sister tells my mother and everyone else that she “can’t get out the door” and my mother tells my sister “you can’t manage your emotions” - they’ve pushed me out for years, which hurt until I realised it THEIR NEED TO BE NEEDED - to be co-dependent on one another and they both use each other to fulfil that need. Nothing to do with me in the slightest!! That was a weight lifted!! But hearing you make reference to addictions with co-dependency ... it makes total sense!! Thank you for that insight 😁

    Hi, you two have made me get started today! I’ve had a very productive day and ate great healthy stuff. Totally gutted my house, decorations are down and packed away! I’m going to walk more. I live near the sea on the South West Scotland coast, and really should appreciate it more! Dreading going back to school on Monday, I know for a fact we left loads of chocolates in the staffroom!! 🤔

    Thank you for reading out these comments. I was on anti depressants and after a while felt brilliant. Thought I was cured. Decided to come off them, but did it with out consulting a doctor. nightmare!!! after 6 months being off them I decided to go back to them (saw my doctor for this) and had to go through the hell of getting use to them again. I've now come to realise that the medication is what makes me feel great so am going to stay on them.x

    Hi Nadia and Mark, I love watching your vlogs. You help me get through a difficult time in my life , most particularly my son’s mental health issues. At 18 years old he stopped leaving the house and has not left it for nearly 3 years. During this time I decided I would not drink alcohol so I Would be more present and more able to cope. I didn’t want to go down the same route as my alcoholic father. Well done Mark for staying off the grog for 15years and Nadia keep up the great work of not drinking. The other evening I watched a program called The truth about losing weight...an English show ( l now live in Aus) ... it talked about the science of exercising. When you exercise your body produces endocannabinoids, which are apparently something similar in cannabis too. The great thing about what we naturally produce it doesn’t induce the depression... it also talked about 3 10 minute high intensity walks each day is better for you than 10,000 steps and DANCING is the best exercise for you.

    Deliciously Ella's plant based snacks may be of interest to you, they are healthy and filling, and great for on the go snacks. I love the energy balls and flapjacks. Dates with a small amount of almond butter, are nice too for the odd sweet treat. Good luck you are both doing great xx

    I have just started watching your Vloguary. You are so refreshing to watch! You’re funny, honest and down to Earth. You even inspired me to buy fresh ginger and turmeric today when I was in the supermarket. I forgot lemons and honey though, but will get that tomorrow.     Thank you both so much for your honesty, integrity and fun. I've 3 stone to lose but know this year I'm going to do it mostly for my mental health and self esteem. I know to stop eating and drinking by 7pm and bed by 10.30pm does work. I would love more chats from Mark about his discoveries about his thoughts, I love you Nadia so much but please let Mark talk.     IM sitting here, having such a giggle and deep thoughts. After watching you all in your blogs. SINCE boxing day i havent watched them in order. I have only been subscribed about 6 weeks, but i totally adore, getting to watch you folk, every morning, while i wait for the body to unstiffin in the mornings.
    Your new years day vlog, im like oh my god, this is so me. And i will tell you why, like susan you mentioned in todays. IM also a food addict, And weight wise the same as her. New years eve, even before i saw your new years day changes. I started my 21 day change. THAT is cutting out the bread and pasta. AND soda and junk food. SO over the last 4 years i have changed many eating habits. THIS will not be the last habit im sure. SO because the fist 21 days will be the hardest, Whenbi hit 22 days i will start the 21 days again. Nadia its because of you and Mark, Im working and thinking so hard on this. FOR whatvever reason it is, i have found what you have said and done, sounds great to my ears. I love the honesty and truth you both display. OH and i so understand about the menopause, gggrrrrr. lol I just wanted to say thank you to you both. LET the 100 days fly, I say. xxx

    Hi guys hope Mark your feeling better and Nadia loving your pretty pink jumper. I've got myself back at the gym today, done 13,292 steps, ate my greens and drank my water(weeing for Britain though)zero alcohol for 5 days. Feeling good, it's all about will power and allowing yourself a little treat. Keep the good work up guys. Just one thing Nadia, i watched loose women today and did you take a swig of wine at the end after wine bottle workout??or was it grape juice😜 xxx

    Yay!!! What a lovely end to my day, I just love all your vlogs and you're a wonderful family. I'm 17 now but when I was turning 16, i was 22 stone (308 pounds!!) and a year later, I got down to 12.5 stone (179 pounds!!). My main tip would be dance!! It's so fun, gets rid of excess weight like any other sport. You can do it. LOVE TO ALL OF YOU!! Hope to be joining you on Loose Women soon to talk about my new album coming out on iTunes / Apple Music / RUclips in a few months!

    I believe that you can have anything as long as you have it in moderation. Cutting out all carbs isn’t healthy some carbs are needed to fuel the body. Saying no to everything is hard 🦋💕 saying no all the time leads to a massive binge which only makes you feel worse and for me a soon give up. Which is not a good thing either. I with you together we can get rid of the extra weight and be a happier us🦋💕

    Again another well put forwarded motivation chat with us subs. (Last day at Camber Sands👅) I lived in the city for 40 years of my life from birth but now live on the east coast of Yorkshire and feel truelly blessed everyday as it didn't come easy took us over 2 proper years to get here..but thanks for making the point u did about the sea the air etc and being grateful.. We did it for a better life for our kids and ourselves even though I have arthritis in my spine and nerve pain I walk everyday now as don't want to miss a day by the sea. I'm doing 3000 steps so amazing on your 10'000👊 I'm aiming for 5000 by the end of next week after hearing how hard your working hoping to get stronger by doing so. Keep up your amazing vlogs. 💪🙌💗

    Thanks for another great vlog. You have motivated me to get fitter and healthier. I haven't got any scales so going by how my clothes fit. We can do it! Mark I feel like you do at the moment. I have massive changes coming up with going back to work after being a stay at home mum and my anxiety is really kicking in. Scared I can't do it. Keep going you two. X

    Well done you two, keep up the good work. I suffer from lower back pain, and have no core muscle strength. I need to work on strengthing my core muscles and losing weight. I carry alot of weight on my lower back and middle. I also have a wonky pelvis so even more of a reason to lose the extra weight. I use food as comfort and 'treats', not good! I have lost the weight before so need to dig into my inner strength and find my motivation to get back in the healthy zone. My mental health suffers when I'm not healthy. I need to dust off my lovely bike and get out there! Thank you for giving me inspiration to get going. I also brought a new recipe book Joe Wicks 30 minute meals.

    Loving your vlogs so much. I’ve been self managing bipolar without meds for 10 years and recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia in addition. I’m managing it in the same way and trying not to use pain medication (exercise, pacing myself, mindfulness and good sleep regime) it’s hard but we can all face our challenges and we will win! 😁👍🏼

    Hi Nadia and Mark, you guys should be therapists, you're brilliant. It's hard to motivate yourself when you are doing it alone. I and a big trip and ate 2 chunky Kit Kats then felt so yucky afterwards. So I put some music on and did some mad dancing about the house, it felt goooood. Thank you both, you help me so much. Nadia please be careful with your back and don't overdo things. Mark I hope your Sinus cold clears up soon, I also have bad Sinus colds, it's painful. Take care.

    I’m very late responding but I just love your vlogs and wish you would continue doing at least weekly or monthly vlogs once January is over. You both inspire me with your honesty. I have a lot of medical conditions and losing weight is a struggle.

    Wow just made my first cup of your suggested ginger turmeric and lemon minus the honey as I'm not keen on honey drink this morning(would like to add for years my first drink in the morning has always been coffee ) ......Wow shocked to my taste buds but it's drinkable will be doing it everyday from here on and as you said makes you feel good knowing the first thing to go into your system is good xxx

    I love this channel it amazing
    You too are amazing there the best and love watching them only recently found this channel and i probably sould go early especially because Iam in year 11 and doing my gcse and doesn’t help when tried at school and probably shouldn’t go bed early.
    Iam now going to get off at the second bus stop so I can forget about the bad day at school this new year.
    I stress eating when people at school have upset me and find it hard to stop eating for Comfort and I love this channel and you Nadia you’re amazing and this had made me better
    And makes me happier

    So I spoke about my husband Tony last night and his issue about weight, he is now away from home but I sent him the link to watch the vlog and this is what he said in his txt "I thought it was very good and they’ve shown me that is my choice of what I eat. Great inspiration from them both for me to do this, I look forward to the next vlog”
    As for me it’s not an issue, I don’t know what he goes through when he is struggling with food..but I now understand that it’s not that he can’t, he can it’s his choice, while I I might put temptation in his way, I don’t need to throw out everything that bad, you know what he shouldn’t beat himself up say after a week and caves in and eats a biscuit...I need to help him find the right balance, and if he is beating himself up, I need to then help him find and see the positives, not the negatives of eating a biscuit.

      Try a trial without tomatoes and any foods containing oil. These give me severe fibro pain. All good without (recovering from h-pylori too). xx

    Mark, I remember in a previous vlog you said that lost a lot of weight a few weeks ago so that was a great achievement and testimony that you can do it. Also I know you guys have done marathons in the past. Could you please touch on this on one of your upcoming videos, advice and tips for people who are doing their first half and full marathon?     Every time my back goes out I know it's because I've put some fluff on & my belly and back are out of sync. Get the bk Sleep Smarter by Shawn Stevenson!!!! Moment on the lips, lifetime to the hips- helps with choosing No to a food for me.

    I am really enjoying these vlogs, thank you (-: after a hard year of going it alone with 3 children, I have really been comfort eating as I don't get chance to do much else and have suffered for years with anxiety and depression. I am following along with you guys and i am determined to get healthy and lose 1stone, that is my goal (-: We can do this!

    Hi Nadia and Mark, only just recently discovered you on you tube and i am loving your vlogs. I am 44 and have an 18 and 14 yr old and this is one of the only channels I’ve found that feels as if it’s for me. By the way have you seen the insta account “unfattening” I have found it really helpful at improving my relationship with food. Have done intermittent fasting for years, but off it now and have lost more weight by exercising and trying not to foster an unhealthy relationship with food. Keep up the good work xxxx

    Hey Mark hope you feel better with your man flu and Nadia hope your back is better or at least getting better. You are great family I was saying yesterday how I'm lazy etc I haven't started my healthy lifestyle yet. But I'll better start next week. I don't you don't like weighing your self's and some others don't aswel. But they do say weigh your self at first aswel as measure your body arms belly etc well all of your body parts write it all down put what size you want to be take pictures of your self then you know what you both was be4 hand. Find picture what you want be like and stick it on board or on fridge and everyday look at it and it will make you want too do it but don't forget don't cut all of the junk food out treat your self's every now and then like every 4week at first then maybe after so long every 2 week it's never good to stop all the eatting of bad stuff. It will make you both feel loads better that can have treat for being so good with healthy eatting etc etc. Love you all so much. If you can do it then rest of us can good luck. Xx

    Nadia, yes it's important to stretch before exercising. I'm in my 50s as well, and I've discovered that the muscles aren't as elastic as they used to be.

    Mark - I came off my prescribed meds last year, and now take passiflora, calcium and vitamin d and feeling much better. ☺ Worth a try??

    Not doing too bad, over 7000 steps and only 10:20 in the morning after my usual dog walk. Never counted my steps before so I'm quite impressed 😊
