I love that idea but sadly I think it really is just a translation oversight. And the calendar was on sale again this year so there’ve been plenty of people watching this year again - thank you for commenting!
The creators of the Exit the Game puzzles are German, and every once in awhile the games that were initially made in German aren't fully translated into English. Ran into this problem once before. East in German is Ost, so while your map was translated properly, your compass on the box wasn't.
@@drgareth have you played any of the regular EXIT games? If you felt like doing some non -seasonal videos 🤷♂️ I hear "Unlock" are also good but I've never seen any in UK stores, whereas there are EXITs everywhere (which is handy in case of a fire 🥁😏)
@@DevilboyScooby Yes, I have all of them, and I do hope to do videos of them at some point. Probably you know this already, but you can get the Unlock games from Amazon UK as well as various independent retailers such as Rules of Play and Zatu Games, both of whom I have found reliable.
@@drgareth yeah, I get most of my board games online these days. Unlock haven't been on my radar until they were mentioned in a facebook group I'm in; the exit games however I've seen in Lidl, tk maxx and in actual escape rooms, not just Friendly Local Stores. They must have some sort of deal 🤷♂️
We didn't even notice the O instead of E. But we are surprised that you got the code just from the color/number combo. We did the tree island result for the first number, the stormy island result for the second number, and the skull island result for the third number. The card lists the order of the islands. You did them in a different order but still got the correct solution! Interesting.
That’s interesting, since I wondered why the calendar bothered providing the order when it didn’t matter! I’m sure the island colours must be deliberate too, however. Based on other comments this is at least the third day with an alternative route, so I assume it is just clever design by the calendar makers.
The O in the compass was surely to spell SNOW in line with the Christmas theme of the game- yes im watching this 2 years afterwards

I think I'm enjoying the exit puzzles the most so far, although some of them are quite difficult.
Yes, me too. It's head and shoulders above its competitors. In fact I think I'd go so far as to say it doesn't really have any true competitors.

This one was fun.
