Corrections / info:
- I mistakenly slotted the 5pc sets on the wrong weapon at 23:30 (my preferences). Rallying cry should be on the bar with Hardened Ward, Vitality should be on the bar with Critical Surge & Elude.
- Another option for spammable is Elemental Weapon (rather than Crushing Weapon or Crushing Shock). It is still necessary to run Elemental Susceptibility in this case, but the two skills together still allow you to incorporate status effects while also having the mechanics of Elemental Weapon and without needing to run the Charged trait.
- I will add nocp cyro/ic builds to the website later.
- I know for console players using streak reliably for offensive combo's can be tougher. The best I can suggest here is running Dawnbreaker as offensive ultimate instead of Overload (or with Overload on backbar), so you can do a quick burst + stun without needing streak.
MagSorc was Already in a Good Spot U40 honestly. It's kinda Overkill Rn... with the Passive giving more max mag and not HP I now Rock Gaze of Sithis as Mythic for the extra HP and Tankyness compered to Cudan.
Iv always ran a Max Mag Build on Sorc rn I'm Sitting at 62k max mag compered to the 55k I used to have mainly due to this passive giving the extra 10% Mag. And because I don't need to spam shialds all the time my sustain is Crazy so I now Rock The Armour Pots giving me a total of 32k Resistances and 31k max HP in pvp 😅😂 it's Crazy how Tanky Sorc is this patch a Zerg Group now Struggles to kill me compered to U40 were I felt soo Damn Squishy.
When fighting 3-4 players solo now I'm happy enough to use Shialds Mainly as a Burst heal Compered tospamming 2-3 Shailds like back in U40, Now I Feel Safe enough to let my Shialds Drop and focus on my Burst combo's and relaying on the Huge Shiald and Burst heal only when Needed.
It's Crazy how Sorc actually feels Viable and Tanky. Half the Time I like to see my health drop below 50% just to see the Heals 😅😂 iv seen anywere from 12-23k heals so far

When in pvp somebody has for example 11k penetration flat + minor /Major breach, you lose 20k resistance, so your 32k becomes 12k...so actually in pvp there is no cap.
But, I agree that having too much resistance is not good, need the balance between all of this stats
@doomduck2258 I have 32k resistance due to drbuffs. I see players rocking anywere form 8k-20k pen. So with a few small changes like rocking Gaze of Sithis and armour pots get me that added Tankyness most other Sorcs don't have. I have 32k resistance mainly due to other players penatration so after all the debuffs I'll be at around 20k resistance vs the avarage player. Making me super Tanky 1vX.
In a pve build 20k resistance is enough to be super Tanky but in pvp I say around 30k resistance is a must if you don't fancy getting 2 Shot by a Nightblade.

I'm pretty excited about this. I started PVP 2 years ago and couldn't ever dial in the magsorc. Having the burst heal is going to be amazing. I really appreciate the different variations you added, along with the explanation of there use.

However I guess you just don't have enough bar space for it :\
You'll have to use crushing shock and hurricane and for that you'll need to drop something from important skills

Is the relequen + draugr build relevant for msorc? If I use relequen , should I take a fire staff? or lithing staff always better?

Havent played in years, a lot of sets look viable and strong. Im on crafty alfiq/ masters/vasHM perfected inferno/ lich/ ddFete and still slaps rn
what do you think about running a setup with shattered fate to stack max burst damage? you could go 5x shattered fate front bar 5x wretched back bar mighty chudan ddf you could run the elemental susceptibility to get around 21k pen with this I don't think you'd have much trouble since ward and crit surge will be enough of a heal and if you wanted a somewhat high of a mag stack you could use crushing weapon instead and then slot bound aigis with inner light in front bar and mages guild ult if you wanted or is a setup with draukins just outright better than this for duels or open world pvp?
Edit: the 21k pen I get is with lover mundus running all divines which gets me to around 16k pen unbuffed without counting major or minor breach ofc you could change this and run inpen with reinforced but just wanted feedback on this setup which is what I'm currently testing and having success with in PSNA server while waiting for update 41 on consoles
Yeah shattered fate is also a good frontbar, it'll give you more burst. It's the best damage set option when running crushing weapon as a spammable. When running crushing shock though, Draugrkin is simply more damage.
Wait so i remember back in the day you would cast healing ward first because casting other shields after would cover it essentially. Did rhey change this?
When does update 41 drop on console also I forgot environment mythic could probably make a fairly unkilable warden healer or tank pared with a heal or block set

Does the passive daedric summoning buff count Bound Aegis as a pet still? This would mean Aegis stops you getting the stam buff

Recently, I've been using Treasure Hunter so I can slot mage's wrath. I mostly play BGs, which is why I think wrath comes in handy to push damage a little further.
Would you think that my build decision is viable, or am I just wasting a 5th gear slot?
I'd say it's a waste of a gear slot. Just run tri food with alliance war magicka pots. Should have plenty of stam to dark deal. Especially if you're Dark Elf or High Elf.
What about running a bow for poison injection/venom arrow?

I brought back an old set.. “spinners”, FB, wretched back bar, lover mundus, sharpened staff markin ring. Penetration seems 2 B working pretty nice!
Pen is nice but spinners really is a low stat density set compared to some of the other options out there imo. Still, could definitely do worse.
It would be awesome if you could cover some Ravenwatch options when you do these guides. I know a few people that only play that campaign and it would be interesting to see what you come up with.
Hi I have a question. I'm farming the build 2 and almost got everything expect the skill crushing weapon. Is it hard to get, and can I use a different skill for it till I have it? Also, My resto staff is only level 6, how can I get it up quickly? Thank you!! :)

Thanks! Both races work equally well, there really is no saying on which is best. Dark elf is good too, same story.

I've found it worthwhile to have Dark Deal on my defensive bar while wearing the Esoteric Environment Greaves. It's basically like having a spamable Stamina pot.
Why do you use 5 medium instead of 5 light? Is 5 medium more damage, or is it really just for that 1 extra dodge roll?
Does Crit resistence apply to the shield? Did you try out ring of pale order with spell power potions instead of running crit surge?
Crit Res applies to shields. I don't think pale order is worth it on magsorc.

Stam version gives major breach, allowing you to drop ele susceptibility to free up a skill slot. Both the stam and mag version are viable, just need to adjust your other skills accordingly.

I usually run draugrkin frontbar and I often think it's almost always better to use another crushing shock instead of crystal frags, even when procced... with all the ticks and everything. What do you think? Is crystal frags really worth the skill slot for a draugrkin sorc?
28:50 he mentioned running bound armaments for draugerkin health sorc. I'm also wondering if this applied to a draugerkin magsorc.
@@pa_cipher2533 Yea, draugrkin magsorc. Also we should keep in mind (even vs armaments) that crushing shock is a weapon skill, so higher chance to proc enchant/poison and extra 2-3k penetration from destro passive
edit: also third of the damage is flame, so good against vamps

I run only crytal frag and curse on front bar. Along with mages guild and sorc skills that increase crit magicka and resistances. And hardened ward.
Front bar buffed:
17k spell pen
4.2k spell damage
42%crit
about 40% damage resist
43k magicka
25k health
Shadow stone
Divines on all
Crit on weapon.
I melt people. My regen is crap so its not great 1vsX cyro pvp. But in BGs... 10 to 20 kills per game on xbox na server.
My crystal frags hit between 8-11k depending on my opponents resistances. 5-6k against tanks :(

In the builds where I have wretched on the frontbar I proc it with crushing weapon.
@@MalcolM. In the max max build, you still have crushing weapon on front, but Wretched vitality on back, also since you dropped chudan, you have to use boundless storm. How best to activate wretched in this build if its on the backbar? susceptibility would mean you need to either drop armor, heal or dot. Quite the conundrum
@@blabik wretched is very easy to block on back bar, use either vigor, dark deal, crit surge.

I'm also still on the fence about if the Hardened Ward heal is too strong or not, but I love that Sorc is actually capable of viable build diversity now!

This is what I'm feeling for ward as well, like it's definitely really strong now, but it's really only looking too strong specifically in a 1v1 situation when that specific situation is also combined with 60k+ max mag.
On a more standard sorc build, for open world, that would have between 35 and 45k max mag (or 40k max health) the ward seems fine and simply on par to what the other classes have as a burst heal/temporary health ability.
What makes me not think ward needs huge adjustments (if any at all) is that I can go a full damage stacking build (RC back + NMA/equivalent set front) and get blessings of restoration to a level that is on par with wards total tooltip (21k+) as an AoE group heal and nobody is going to argue that blessings is overtuned.
Healing in general needs addressing in this game, that I will agree with, but the updated ward (especially for open world) basically just fits in with the healing option of the other top classes now making sorc into another potential stalemate class, leaving only plar and necro to bring up to that level (although those 2 mostly just need offensive buffs instead of defensive buffs and plar technically has its ranged build).
Its too strong. I hope they dont nerf streak.
@@yumuddah8735 doubt that would happen, at most they'll likely just reduce the shield cap to 65% down from its current 72%, which would bring ward completely in line with the other class's burst heals in terms of effective health gain per second.
I did some quick calcs comparing ward to other class's burst heals for effective health gain per second and despite how strong people are claiming that ward is, it's barely 10% above other classes damage scaling burst heals, meanwhile polar winds warden on the exact same build is 40% stronger in terms of effective health gain per second and that's without any critical heals which puts polar even further ahead of ward.
@@turtle-bot3049 are you counting the ward plus the heal or just the heal?
Have you tried rattlecage and shattered fate? 5k spellpower and 20k pen, 35k mag 30k health and resists. It shreds the tank builds and only really struggles on people with perma shield up for me but that could be a skill issue 😂
For running in groups should i still use rally? if not what other set will be good?
You should go over this with your group, but in case someone else already runs rallying you should consider some of the support sets mentioned on my website healer page.

Ye you could run just vAS staff frontbar, Vitality backbar, 2pc willpower 2pc trainee, DDF, 2pc chudan. It should work that way.

Max max covers damage shields while max cover sustain and give bonus shield

Malcolm have you thought about trying the new mythic? 15% dmg reduction 500 mag&stam recov 1300wep/spell damage? I’m sure you can still get really high max stats not using the full set piece bonus from armors mixing trainee, domihaus, the other 1pce max hp which name escapes me ect
You dont bc the mythic deactivates any set lines.....

It is definitely enough, whether it needs to be nerfed depends on your pov. Magsorc can compete with the other good classes now. Should the good classes be nerfed or should the bad classes be buffed?
@@MalcolM. right now as a main templar I feel useless against a sorcerer, he can simply run away and burst me while my jabs doesnt land lol and in top of that the shield and heal, templar needs love, necros even more.
@@ZDavidH I 100% agree with you. Templar and Necro need a buff to be able to compete with the good classes, just like Sorc now got a buff that allows it to compete with the good classes and become a good class too.
Can a khajiit work with your first build
Have you already tried the new mythic Torc of the Last Ayleid King? It's seems pretty good.
If you'd like to run it it's for nocp no proc only, otherwise having a combination of sets is more beneficial
Correction: I forgot in this reply that this mythic does not work in nocp no proc cyrodiil. So I don't have any use for it so far.

the mythic offer almost same recovery as wretched and more damage then Rally proc (way more) and 15% dmg reduction, all time. But we lost the major resolve from monster set, so we have to slot a one more skill.

Can you make a 1 bar build? With oakensore ring. I play on ps4 still and bar swap literally does not work when there is to many in cyrodil so I have had to just 1 bar. What would you do. Just one peice monster set and 2 full sets? And oakensore? Wich sets would you advice? And skills on front bar

Nice to finally see some actual options for sorc be viable now.
From what I've seen, ward seems fine in open world PvP. A little too strong for 1v1 (dueling) when you stack 60k+ max mag, but otherwise it's basically on par with what the other top classes already have access to as defensive options.
I'm curious on your thoughts about adjusting bound armor and morphs, replacing the max stats with major prophecy/savagery while slotted on either bar, now that sorc has the updated expert summoner passive granting max stats.
This reduces the peak full invested max mag builds down to ~55k (and reduces more common builds max mag down to ~40k) while giving sorc a needed basic named buff to better tie in crit surge. It also hybridizes the 2 morphs of BA, allowing them to differentiate themselves as either a tank or dps skill, that both stam and magsorcs can use to full effectiveness.

I'm not sure which build you are talking about here, but generally you want to have wretched on a bar with easy acces to major / minor buffs and rallying on a bar where you'll have sufficient incoming healing.

New to Magsorc. So basically you sacrifice Pen and Damage for more Magicka? Since Magicka scales with Spell Damage?
Your hardened ward scales off max Magicka, meaning that it you do not have enough you'll have a small shield.

I talk about backbar options throughout the video, but often it's ice staff for elemental susceptibility and because it's the only destro staff with defensive properties. The lightning staff is simply the most damage.
Why charged over sharpened?
I am trying to figure out how you have a 18.9k ward tooltip in all your videos. In CP, Hardened Ward is 26.322% of your max magicka with Bastion, so that should be around 14.3k ward with your 54k magicka, and you were unbuffed when showing tooltips. Am I missing something? I have 72k magicka and 35k hp, and my ward is 19.2k with all of this.
Ive got 7k hrs on magsorc and all the sets and i still run crafty and shacklebreaker on my sorc with gaze of sithis and resto staff 2 heavy 4 light 1 med full well fitted expect for heavy pieces.
I have no problem 1vXing zergs even im very tanky and nuke people.
Drauking 10% healing reduce that hurts how low your shield is going to be ?

Just wanted to add as he said bloodthirsty is better damage. Bloodthirsty actually got shadow nerfed again this patch just because of how many sorcs and arcanists are running around. Trying to pressure through these huge shields when your opponents are full hp makes bloodthirsty feel lack luster. I feel like the consistent damage of infused pulls ahead now as it it works well in all match ups. (unless of course if you're on a gank/bomb build).
Blood thirsty could work well too tho, because if the sorc passive that increases damage the more health the target has, so the less health the target has the less damage you inflict, not including vamp.
Is having that low pen ok tho?
Not really, but you just run away from anyone that's actually decent at pvp, and hope they over extend their resources

Sorc is an extremely skill-based class, having the same stats only gets you halfway there.
