Retired male Marine here. A shout out to all my Sister Marines, the fewer. Marines are only 8 % Women, so kudos to all that have earned the title.
Gunnery Sgt Diana Lingle was one of the most bad ass Marines I ever served under.
Ohhhraaah
Thank god the marines still know how to make a badass commercial
Bad ass knows bad ass. What did you expect.
Earning the title of United States Marine was the proudest moment of my life
When I joined the Marine Corps the commercial was we don't promise you a rose garden.
I know you like the USMC uniform. The Marine Dress uniform is considered to be one of the best in the world, and regularly gets voted in the top 3. It is a snazzy uniform, but they also are an elite corps at the same time. It is an iconic uniform that they earn with their tough training and long proud history. The sword is a left over from the days they boarded ships.
They aren’t an elite battle force but they are trained harder and faster than all other branches and are tougher than nails meant to take beach heads and secure them. They are first to the battle and they will always be the last to leave
@@carterrice8390 Marines are an elite force and are considered as such. Elite doesn't mean SpecOps, Elite means higher standard of training and harder admission standards, which they have. They are the Shock Troops of the US military and out rapid response and deployment force. They have the hardest basic training standards and the toughest training, and are used as an elite corps for military plans and doctrine purposes and have been since 1917 when they reinvented themselves as more than just the navy's soldiers but rather a true fighting force on their own,
I agree with what you said in your second comment and first I just didn’t know what you considered elite
@@michaelbcohen A minimum ASVAB score of 31 is hardly a high benchmark to meet. While the boot camp is the hardest, the follow-on training is usually far less technical or lengthy than other branches’.
The Marines have become, since the 1950’s, a more flexible land infantry force, far from what it was designed to be: an amphibious expeditionary force. That’s turning back now, with the elimination of armor, most heavy artillery, heavy helicopter squadrons and a renewed focus on amphibious warfare.
Also, no, the Marines are not the first ones in the fight. Not in modern warfare. Special operations forces establish looooong before any Marine touches the ground. Even Air Force has units that are not special operations that go in before a beachhead invasion. Speaking of... the last Marine amphibious operation was in Somalia, against zero enemy. The last one with actual combat involved was Grenada, where the Army and Air Force landed at the same time. This ain’t 1917 and it’s not a Lance’s wet dream story. Modern warfare doesn’t work that way.
@James Thompson Perhaps your lack of English comprehension is EXACTLY what I’m talking about. The average AIT in the Marine Corps is shorter than the average schools the other branches have. The Corps have a lot fewer technical career fields. Pulling out a couple of specific MOSs doesn’t change the average and you don’t actually even know the length of that training, obviously. Try being intelligent instead of butthurt. Even your own comment says most technical training is done be the Navy.
1st to comment! The few the proud the Marines!! My Father was in the U.S Army for 23 years he's a Veteran now nd I salute him :)
Hey Joel thanks for first comment!! Wow 23 years, amazing!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

United States Navy Vietnam combat veteran here. Thank your father for his service.
I think the USMC has the best military recruitment ads! I think my favorite was the last one. The phrase "defending the American way of life" really got me there!
Yes they do!
As a retired MARINE CORPS Infantry GySgt.USMC , I endorse this channel! LMFAO SEMPER FI CARRY ON DEVIL DOGS OOH-RAH
As a marine jrotc, I endorse this channel. OOH-RAH
@GunBunny 😂😂😂 Yea you right am Afjrotc.
@GunBunny lol caught in the act
Marines are the elite and this is why their training is so hard. Being the best doesn't come easy.
Being a Navy Seabee I worked and fought alongside of a lot of the US Marines all respect my brothers.
You Seabees are a filthy lot. I rather like it. Lol.
I served over 30 yrs ago at Pendleton, CA and we used to have Seabees coming through for special training and they were a great bunch. Really tough and hardworking guys. Don't know how it is now back then they pretty much wore the same clothes we did and could hardly tell us apart except for the insignias. We hung out a lot at the E-club having drinks and dancing on weekends we kept telling them we were going to write them up for not ironing their camouflages, lol. (I think at the time we were the only branch that ironed their cammys).
Oh I remember that recruit who couldn't swim, had one in my platoon. During swim qualification we went into the pool in alphabetical order. I had just jumped in and was starting my way through and all of a sudden the drill instructors began yelling at us, more than usual that is. The recruit behind had jumped in and never came back up. They had to fish him out as the rest of us were treading water to get to the edge. Turns out he couldn't swim and was afraid to tell the DI's.
@gsandmang honestly that’s courage, he still put in the effort.
"The change is forever." ~ last line of a 90's USMC recruiting commercial. Hey they warned us !
The Marine commercials are good but, I still think the best US military commercial to this day is the one from years ago with the Navy Seals. There's no music, no voice-over, no talking. Just a beach at night. The mood gets covered by the clouds and it gets even darker. Then the moon comes back out and there are footsteps on the beach, which are quickly washed away by the waves. Amazing commercial, just a silent and to the point as the Navy Seals themselves.
You might like to look up Eleanor Roosevelt's quote about the Marines...
The "Running Into The Fire" spot is IMO one of the Top Ten best TV commercials of all time. From the standpoint of someone in television and video production who has produced and directed a number of TV commercials in my career, that spot is literally perfection!
From a Marine who serve 03 to 08 0311 in the 2/6... with a son who currently serves as an 0311... thank you! Marines are Marines nothing more to say!
Who were you with in O8? I was 0811 K 3/10.
The US Navy: A Global Force For Good were really well done commercials.
When I was in high school a friend of mine, home from the Marine corps, brought me a dress uniform jacket. He told me that he knew I was the only one who could wear it with enough style to make it /me worthy of it. About a year later, I received a phone call from a Marine Corps recruiter. He asked me if I was interested in joining the corps. I told him "Sir. Yes, sir... I'm just sure if I would quite qualify physically any longer...." (Brief pause...) "There is something that makes you feel this way?" he asked. "Well sir... From the waist down, I've got quite a bit of metal in my body, sir." "Ooh! Car accident?" he replied. "Well.... Yes, sir. One of those too, sir!" --He liked that one. We both laughed! :-D (At the time, I was titanium from hip to knee on both sides from a couple severe accidents in the past year.) :-)
@Detective X. I wouldn't be able to serve because of my mental and physical troubles... Probably kinda best that I didn't try either! -- 10 years later, while I was working hard mentally and physically during crunch week at Kent State U, I suffered my first epileptic seizure! (Related to those 2 head injuries I suffered as a boy.) I collapsed upon a running lawn mower. No big deal, though -- I rolled over and looked at the world through the blades of grass.... Dear Gosh! Just imagine if I was operating heavy military machinery at the time.... Or --Weapons! Holy smokes... I could have hurt a whole bunch of innocent people! :-O
@Detective X. Thanks for your positive wishes, my friend. :-)
Thanks Mrs Courtney, I earned this years ago. In doing so it intels a commitment to service of our nation. No one can ever take that away from me. We are the only self sustained service in our armed forces. That is the difference. Humbled warriors for our nation.
My cousins' maternal grandfather was in the Corps from 1963-69, but never got deployed to Vietnam. Funniest story he told me was during boot camp, his bunkmate was tricked into speaking with the Senior Drill Instructor. The bunkmate was a 6 foot 3inch, 220 pound lumberjack. To be able to enter a DI's office and speak, you have knock on the door frame really hard until acknowledged. The guy starts knocking, DI responds "I cant HEAR you!!"; and this goes on until the lumberjack got pissed off and he actually PUNCHED through the door. You can guess what happened next

Semper Fidelis.
During the Civil War, there was a Confederate States Marine Corps; not too many people know of it.
I suggest they should have done the right thing and not embraced the confederate flag.
I did know that actually. And supposedly it was structured very similarly to the US Marine Corps because the Confederate states marine corps was basically just a bunch of defected US Marines that went on the confederate side. Only their gear wasn’t as nice
Thank you so much for your kindness and recognition of "The Few". We love people like you and of course your country who stand beside us, when our Nations need to be united! In the call of duty.
Sgt G 4th Generation USMC Family Veteran
The Marine Corp has turned out Marines for over 225 years. ...they are the same men that they have always been. ...men who want to serve their country to their best ability and fight for each other when the sh hits the fan...every Marine is a brother and that has been it heritage since the beginning. ...your not given the title Marine you earn it each generation of Marines has stood on the shoulders of the Marines that have gone before and they wouldn't want any shame coming to the Corp
Thank you for this Courtney! USMC '89-'93 "A" company Raider 1st Blt 4th Marines
No one can say the Marines ever ran from a battle or leave behind a fallen fellow Marine. But, each of the armed forces has roles that put its members in harm's way and require courage and discipline. One example would be the hell the Marines went through on Guadalcanal. If I recall the Marines lost about 1700+ heroes. Meanwhile, naval actions around the island took the lives of around 5000 Navy personnel. All had a part to play. Just an example.
Yes anyone in the armed services sign a blank check payable on demand up to and including your life. I have 8 buddies out of 59k on that wall in DC
@@tombob671 As did I. 3 tours. Well part of a 3rd. 27 months.
It's funny when I think of how my grandpa was a Marine and served in Vietnam but doesn't know how to swim😅 like bro isn't that something a Marine should know? Just my thoughts
I'm 80, served 12 years in the USMC spent 20 months in Vietnam in 3/7, went through Parris Island in 1957. Believe me, you learn how to swim in the Marines. say Hi to Gramps from a fellow Marine.
@@joem9806 I don't deny that sir, and I thank you very much for your service. However I do believe it's true as my grandmother has told me and my gramps hates to admit. You know, he is around your age and yet he is very active and always moving always doing something or fixing/building something. I feel as though Marines particularly retired ones are always such great and active men/women. The warrior spirit never goes away and it's what fuels him. I assume the fire has never faded from your soul either and even if it has you will always remain a Marine.
@@shyryTsr2k Yup, I'm still healthy and active. And thank you
Had an uncle that served in the Navy and he never learned to swim. One of his daughters asked him wasn't there a test you had to pass? He said he learned the greatest lesson about life, "There's is always a way to get out of anything." It was all he would say about and took the story to his grave how he got out of taking the Navy swim qual.
You’d be surprised, but they quickly learn
I am a Vietnam Army veteran from Arizona, USA. We have a 23 yr old grandson, a Marine sergeant and vehicle commander of an amphibious assault vehicle, AAV, like those shown at 3:01 of your reaction video. We are very proud of him and his Army brother, a 20 yr old corporal and NCO of a heavy weapons vehicle. My wife, Josie, and I are very thankful for your interest in our country and its citizen soldiers. Given the amazingly beautiful country you live in we agree you are a very special young lady for honoring our grandsons and their military brothers and sisters. God Bless You.
My 18 year old daughter is a U.S. Marine. She is my hero and always will be.
I walked along side the Kiwis in Afghanistan - Fierce warriors! Wicked tattoos
If you like this.
Think you would love Warrior Song/Hard Corp by Warrior Song Project.
They have a song for each one of the services. The prelude to each one is amazing
WWII once the Marines took Guadalcanal they were extremely lucky to go to Australia for Rest & Relaxation. The Marines had to restock, resupply, heal for the next fight. The 1st Marine Division was treated so well by the Australian people that they made Waltzing Matilda it's official song. For none Australians and US Marines ... Waltzing Matilda is the unofficial nation anthem of Australia.

Hey Courtney! Hope you're having a great day! Enjoyed the video!
On active duty since November 10th 1775 when Captain Samuel Nicholas enlisted the first recruits at Tun Tavern. He was charged with raising two battalions of Marines.
I love how when it was at the second to last commercial the Marines used army ranger videos for their commercials
I don't think the Marines would use an Army Ranger video for their commercials, they probably wouldn't be allowed to do that. Maybe they were Marines who you thought were Army Rangers.
Proud Mother here of a Captain in the USMC.

I'm a year late seeing this but, U.S Marines are the only branch in the U.S. that you receive a title, once you complete boot camp. Examples, soldiers, sailors and fly boys (as we call them all).....Asked what branch are you in? They reply accordingly....soldier... Army, sailor....Navy, fly boys....Air Force. Ask a someone from the Corps, it's I'm a Marine and NEVER I'm in the Cops or Marines. Also they tank looking vehicles that were going from water to the beach, it's what I did. Amphibious Assault Vehicles(Trax). Any who see and wish to dispute the fact. YATYAS..3rdAABN HS and Alpha Companies Pendleton (Area 21), Delta Company 29 Stumps, also 3rd CAB Schwab, Okinawa.

God Bless Chesty Puller...where ever you are.
You need to look at the commercials from the late eighties and early nineties...
Please react to 2018 Monster Energy Cup Supercross!
yeah, know it was a tavern, stellar history.
The Army’s and chair force advertisement budgets are much bigger then the Marines,,.. but the Marines always somehow manage to have the best advertisements of all branches,,.. Go Navy i guess?,..
Oh yeah? Care to tell us how much their budgets are? Keep in mind that these expenses should be weighted per recruit, not in total. Spending $2 million to recruit 1 million people is not the same as spending $2 million to recruit 10,000 in a targeted campaign.
I love your face lol and this is a cool video concept. hope you make more videos
Does your country do this type of marketing to enlist in your military?
What do you know about US ROTC or OCS programs? I’m currently in Army ROTC at college and I’m curious if you’ve seen any videos or what you know about the programs. Regardless, great video as usual!
I've seen some good Go Army commercials.

Are there any female marines?
Yes
@@terrysteward6765 , I was wondering because they didn't show a single woman in any shot of the marines. Thanks for the info.
About 15% of the force is female. The Corps are, however, full of sexist and immature idiots of all ranks and yes, you wouldn’t know that watching these ads. There is a huge culture war in the Corps. They have major issues with diversity of any kind. Racism, sexism... not only alive, but prospecting. Other branches aren’t great either, but FAR better than the Marines.
