- Will this new EV be able to beat the Porsche Taycan at it’s own game? The ZEEKR 001 is a next-generation EV with from the GEELY group with performance, style, comfort, range, and ultra fast charging capability. The mainstream manufacturers need to watch out. Styled like the Porsche Taycan, the ZEEKR 001 is a shooting brake / estate / touring / station wagon with attitude.

I am not Chinese but I live in China and even in Chinese, longest range 001 only drives for 750 which of course, can drive about 600 km...
Hi Tim. This relates to the new long range available soon. Thanks. Ed
Geely have taken a stake in aston martin recently.
Love the channel and content, thank you ❣️
Thanks Darren. It’s very much appreciated. Ed
Too much talk, not enough footage
Thanks Tom. It’s all the footage I had from the press office. At least all the info is there. Ed
This aint the disney channel😅..
I enjoyed the talk. Very informative and good knowledge. Thanks.
Bloody hell, 15 minutes of just pure talking, you can surmise the whole video in 1 minute
Yes, wish could see the car more
Tolles Auto.Bin gespannt wann es in Deutschland angeboten wird. Würde ich gerne mal Probe fahren. Gefällt mir besser, als der Porsche.
Sorry to point this out but the chemistry has changed they have added Magnesium and silicon to the LFP to create the M3P qilin CTP?
Thanks John. Good to know. Ed
Just subsribed. This car looks just beautifull. You know allready the price and when it comes to Europe?
Thanks. No information just yet but I’ll publish it when we know. In the meantime have a look at the NIO ET7 which is already in Germany and Norway with more countries to follow. Ed

I would be highly suspicious of any claims from a Chinese manufacturer
Geely is not just any Chinese manufacturer. They also own Volvo, Lotus, London Taxi and few more

Many thanks. You’ve no idea how much it’s appreciated. I do a lot of research for my videos. Thank you. Ed
@@EVPeasy I know how much effort it takes to be consistent with research and content creation, its not as easy as it looks. I wish you all the best in getting access to all the vehicles we need in this channel.
Yeah, but aside from that, what does it do?
i’ve driven the zeekr 001. it’s a slick vehicle and yes, it drives pretty well. but it ain’t no porsche taycan, far from it!
I've only come across your channel Ed but really enjoying your content, keep up the good work and I'll spread the word 👍
Much appreciated John. Thank you. Ed
Goes real fast. How well does it stop? Am curious to know how it does in crash tests. Thanks.
chassis design using Volvo engineering so 5 star safety. Braking and suspension with a bit of input from Lotus. The Zeekr 001 has survived a few track sessions with no braking problems.

The 1000km range is interesting how big is the battery. Also does it have two way charging?
big enough to give you cancer when sitting on it
140度的电池,用的是一种新技术,zeekr是第一个使用这个技术车。不过以后很多中国电动车会用这个技术
so nice car
Sorry about the crash test question, but I saw a Chinese test crash video a few years back where the Chinese vehicle actually broke in half during a standard crash test. Other car companies, some in Europe, have been caught cheating. One used interior wooden bracing to achieve good crash ratings. Sorry, can't remember which company that was.
any one of them is a famous brand, or a brand no one knows? it makes big difference.
63% deprecation in the first year
80%
Wow. 👍
10 minut charging... think people... so regular HV 10 hours-- or charging hundreds volts or 100 times more amperes then regular EV.... where to connect get same amount of energy in 10 minutes instead 10 hours?
650kw chargers are rolling out specifically for this purpose. Please do a search for them. 6C charging is possible. Ed
@@EVPeasy And lets say we have to charge 1000 EVs same time ...what kind of electric line can handle it? what about 1000000 Evs same time? Whole electric lines in the country has to be changed.. what about domestic charger... average house has power limit , somewhere about 15-25 kW
He forgot to mention $25,000 for a new battery

Worth mentioning that the current price, in the PRC, benefits from government subsidies. Even then, Zeeker is operating in the red. When subsidies run out, the entire Chinese EV industry will look very different & prices will increase substantially.
When a certain industry mature it masters to reduce the production and supply chain cost down significantly + when selling at a larger margin you can reduce the profit margin per unit and still be profitable. Most importantly Zeekr has just managed to do it successful. Check out their new sales figure this year can't believe zeekr was non existent 2 years earlier.
Love your glasses. Where did you get them?

How does it perform in crash tests? How often do they self combust?
same as model y as it uses byd and catl battery
They've been shown to only self-combust once.
None of the more than 50,000 zeekr001s sold to date have spontaneously ignited, although in the event of a crash or accident
@@LOLBTLOLBT No, it only uses CATL batteries, not BYD batteries
Never better than porsche.......
Walking around, didn't drive a single car, talking about EV numbers which are BS, comparing to brands which basically nobody in their sane mind would buy (phisker, lol), 10 minutes recharge, yes right, not telling you need to exchange the complete battery, what about the safety tests....
Like many EV’s from China, check the battery manufacture warranty and whether the company will still be around in a few years.
Thanks. This has the backing of Geely so none better really. Ed
with the imminent collapse of the european countries (i.e. nord stream sabotage), these expansion plans will be put on hold in the short/medium term.
What collapse, don't believe this stupid BS, we can do without Russia
I think the European countries will manage ok but it will be a tough couple of years for them. A bigger issue is going to be if Putin does launch a nuclear warhead. If China doesn't denounce this and withdraw all support then they will be as bigger a pariah as russia and have no other trading partners except for russia. No one will be buying cars made in china
Other sights saying 600km range.
That’s only for the current lineup. The ZEEKR 001 Plus will be on sale at the end of the year with the new pack technology giving 1000km range (Chinese cycle). The originals only have the 600km range. Ed

It’s pretty clear from the comments that the Germans, auto makers par excellence, are curious and excited in equal measure about the advent of the car as a potentially worthy rival to their own highly-regarded (rightly so) Porsche but the Yankees (oh, let’s just throw in some of the Poms, the Canucks and the Aussies) who can’t even produce a proper ICE sports car are all besides themselves with brickbats.
Lol yes Canadians are so concerned about producing a sports car. The shit is usless up here in the North.
@@saltymonkey8874
I know where you’re coming from, mate. I lived there for 11 years, four of those chomping up 100K km per year as a travelling salesman covering Toronto to Peterborough. Europe has no shortage of ‘North’ but it didn’t stop them making the best cars in the world, bar none. Thing is this: if Canadians had bothered more about the kinds of cars (err, autos) they drove, Canada might just have created one that could have conquered world markets - imagine: if you could put together a car that could thrive in those extremes of winter, surely the same machine would have just creamed it in most any other climate, any market. But no, Canadians were just contented assembling cars for GM, Honda and Toyota.
Would be good to qsee the car more then the handsome presentor
No thanks...I'll take a regular 911 any day....stay free....
To be honest so would I. I had a Supersport for 20years. I’d quite like a 991 Carrera S. 😎👍
No one begged you to buy "karen''
and now porsche cayenne coupè too
Crap let's see how the Chinese MG does
I had a Chinese MG3 from new for 9 years. No mechanical problems ever. I was surprised myself how reliable it was. Wasn't the best car because of the jerky automated manual transmission, but it was extremely reliable. I was so satisfied I upgraded to another MG.
MG is very poor in China, at most it is a second-tier brand, and there is a big gap with BYD, Geely, and Changan. Most of its models are exported!😂
Do you often just pass along claims on range and accelleration? Is there any actual evidence of reaching anything like the claimed results such as range? I am tired of these fake EV range claims where they are primarily giving the range at 30 mhp on flat ground in good temps with no load. To me these are lies since you can't actaully get anything like those rnages - do you really think you could buy one of these and go over 500 miles on the highway in cold weather? No its probably 250 miles isn't that a lie? Do you like to promote lies?
Speed isn't everyting.
if it doesnt have a low consumtion as well dont think it will reach 1000km/charge, imo
today Lucid can reach 500miles(800km) at 70mph

the CATL Qilin battery tech is a generation ahead of what Lucid are using. 1000kms won't be an issue
You can keep all of that Chinese performance stuff!!
Far to much rabbiting.

I was just out walking the dogs Eric. Sorry you got upset. You just can’t please everybody on RUclips it seems. If it’s not me walking in a field, it’s the fact that it’s too long, I’m rambling on, don’t know what I’m talking about, not enough photos. So you’d prefer me just in a boring office? Cant be True
I do not believe the range unless several independent entities test the car. In order to get 1000+ km range you need lots of batteries, tons of them and very good software to optimizes the power. Geely is notorious about its bad crash tests so that's the second must I suggest the car goes through. We don't need coffins.
Dude,auto-balencing is not a cutting-edge tech here in China now, it is only a neccesarry chip intergrated in a component in car battery, and its price even lower then a ciggarette.
Geely. Bad crash tests? Volvo are the safest car brand on the planet and owned by Geely. Put away your crack pipe. You’re talking nonsense.

If you have to plug it in, it belongs in the Bin.
I'll wait till they claim 10,000 km range and 10 seconds charging.
Chinese crap, 10 min charging and there's 80% chance you burn in the car. Chinese use to sell cheap crap.
But we have for years asked them to build our tech, and now they are building their own because they have gotten very good at it. You only think Chinese goods are crap because they have built what we have asked them to build to a price, we only have ourselves to blame.
In fact, just a week ago, a Taycan burned in Suzhou, China. Because the door could not be opened, two people were burned to death in the car. At least for now, in the world, there is no record of this car catching fire and killing people.
A month ago, in Taiwan, a very famous movie star and his son were almost burned to death in a Tesla Model X, and if someone hadn't rescued him quickly, they are still in the hospital. Where does your hatred of China come from? media? Or have the Chinese ever hurt you or your family?
Such a brainless comment. Remember, all EV brand around the globe use a large percentage of Chinese EV supply chain, including battery. Of 8 billion people around the globe, developed country only has 1.1 billion people. China built cheap stuff because there is a great demand for low end product . It doesn’t mean all product Chinese built are low end.
