    Rather than the damaged eye faceplate, it would have been nice to get a faceplate with painted eyes to make them look lit.

    I’ve been collecting Hot Toys for about 10 years, and this is easily in my top three figures. Beautifully sculpted and painted, and it’s nice and heavy, but still stands very well on its own without a stand.

    Still waiting for mine. Sideshow keeps delaying my final payment.

      dude it's been so overly delayed. I bought brand new from another collector luckily.

      @@WillFoxification that’s what I might have to start doing. Pay a little extra to cut out the middleman. I’ll start getting my most wanted figures straight from the source

    Great review! Glad I picked him up too. I just hope we get a R2D2 from ROTJ soon so I can complete the set.

    The only issue I’ve with is, I wish they had another head sculpt with the eyes were actually painted to look like they were on. either way. I’m excited to get mine once it ships

    The main thing is missing is the (restraining bolt) he was a slave on Jabba’s barge so I was expecting it as an accessory on this iconic figure. Hot toys dropped the ball on that one and I like the Sideshow version even though is plastic but the touch mode to turn on his eyes are better than HT and the battery is a bigger size and it last longer. So I give it a 7/10 just because they can do better the Sideshow beats it in electronics, finger articulation & in the accessories they are tied.

      that's fair! The sideshow was good too. The diecast is a big plus for me.

    Have this figure myself and it is amazing. It could have had more with it and maybe a little less dust effects. Watched anyway to show support for you doing reviews and look forward to more!

    the base is def much taller than the bases we are used to. and pairing him with R2 is awkward. I picked up a Display Heroes base for the pair and it made them perfect together!

    • @WillFoxification
      @WillFoxification  6 месяцев назад

      ooooh I may need a base like that! I'm actually using the old sideshow base right now in my moducase lol.

    Hit up Fusion Reactors! I got a light up kit from him for C3P0 and can turn him on using the touch of a button from my phone!

      Sounds great, but what happens when the app and/or phone becomes obsolete? I have a Sphero app-enabled R2-D2, and it's no longer supported on newer phones. It's just a matter of time before it's reduced to a motionless piece of plastic.

    • @Zack.188
      @Zack.188 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@MonkDarkfyre well I’m sure they’ll make another app!

    • @MonkDarkfyre
      @MonkDarkfyre 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Zack.188 That's what Sphero promised for their R2, but then, one year later, they stopped development and support and pulled it off the app store. Plus, do you really expect to have a smartphone forever? Don't you think it'll be replaced with something better in a few more years?

    How does this one compare to the Bandai Chogokin 1/6 C-3PO? It's a great looking figure regardless, but not sure if I really need to get it if I've go the Chogokin.

      hmm I've not owned that myself, only heard the ideas shared online. That one I think you can disconnect the limbs and such, this one you can't. This one is amazing though!
