I'm happy with the sideshow figure, it does the job well and the eyes still light up I think it's one of Sideshow's best figures honestly.
The amount of weathering definitely surprised me when they revealed this, but it's only noticeable if you're super close-up. From a distance, it looks right. Plus, I have AOTC R2 who is also heavily weathered, so it'll make them go well together, I think! Glad we got Goldenrod at last.
I’m getting this 3P0!!! I wish they made and Empire strikes back version, where he can be pulled apart to display him with Chewing carrying him in the net back pack!!!
I'm going to wait for the clean version! I'll get two and weather one myself, Hot Toys are definitely going to do loads of versions of C3P0 it's the new Ironman/Spiderman! So for now I'll stick with my Sideshow version, it was a good review I could hear the pain in your voice! To much weathering and a cheap plastic toy accessory 🥺
Great review/unboxing. I was hoping for a more subtle approach to the weathering. I'll be rolling the dice in hope HT makes a shinier/less weathered C-3PO similar to the Tamashii Nations figure. Feel better Jedha!

Clamshells will never go away lol is an ez and cheap way to place the figures in the box and shipped them anyway yep saddened that yours was broken hopefully mine won’t be when I get it 🤞🏼 and happy it will be in the collection since I also have AOTC which am waiting on Padme & Padawan Anakin to arrive.

I wonder if Hot Toys licensed the diecast Soul of Chogokin Threepio for this one. Very similar.
I’ve toyed with getting the BanDai diecast but finally pulled the trigger and ordered this instead. I don’t want my C-3po too shiny and like the overall proportions and look of this one best. Also, like this one has diecast as well.
Now that I’ve got C-3po figured out I have to decide which R2-D2 pairs best with this version. I’d like my R2 to have the lights and sounds, not as big on all the attachments. So do I do Force Awakens? Or does the weathering of the Attack of the Clones R2-D2 match up better with this C-3po. Thoughts?
