The best series I watched for years
love this series !!
Born and bread in the town and County Hinterland was made!
Beautiful Aberystwyth, Mid-West Wales, I’m so happy there’s a crime-drama that’s based in a small welsh town that not many people have heard of.
They actually filmed in the village I live in, just up the road from Aberystwyth in Borth and Ynyslas, next door to my farm in fact!

I live in Ohio but grew up in Germany and spend a couple of Summers near Aberystwyth.
I watched hinterland a few years ago and noticed the one house they used, look like the house I stayed in in 78 with a host family.
Of course I thought I was seeing things but no,
I found a site where it had the filming locations and it was shown right where I lived! (Goggerdan,Penrhycoch) but I can't find it now!
By-the-way went back in '19, drove past the house (which was derelict an empty )and stayed in Talybont and went to Borth and Ynyslas also.

Best series ever. Just wish they had made a further series. Because all the ingredients were there to develop the characters further , even if one of the lead characters dropped out there was scope to develop the others. Alas it was a opportunity missed.
Love this whole area, having studied there, wish I could have stayed . Amazing series, the attention to detail is sublime. Fabulous book. Thank you for sharing.
So has season 4 been broadcast or is it to be 2019
Be nice, but as far as I know, Hinterland is done with. No more seasons :( :( Watch the new show from one of the 2 Hinterland creators, Ed Talfan called Hidden. Season one hooked me for sure, and I hope they at least do 3 seasons. So far I've seen at least 3 of the actors from Hinterland in Hidden. And one is the lead detective woman in it.
