That is the price of custom work, and a price I would be willing to pay to build my own gun! Would love to see this in production at some point especially with the Picatinny rail.
@702Pierce Unfortunately there is no where enough demand for something like this, I designed them as conceptual variations on how to improve the factory stock Marlin 60/795 receiver. I very briefly and roughly ran numbers, and these would cost over $100 a piece for any production run smaller than 100 units, and that's the price you can buy an entire Marlin 795 rifle for.
You have got to be kidding. People would pay well in excess of $100.00 for one of these. I bought a "slide on" (actually hammer on) rail to convert the dovetail on my Papoose 70PPS and I paid $60 for that little sliver of aluminum. I ruined my receiver. I would pay over a hundred bucks this Swordfish thing in a New York minute. Make them. Make money. A Marlin Papoose is the coolest and most accurate take down rifle anywhere. You're missing a big market.
You are talking custom pieces and usually people who are looking for a custom look are willing to pay the additional dollars... I for one would fork over the additional coin for the opportunity to be able to switch out barrels... Everyone out there has a custom 10/22, how many people can say they truly have a fully customized Model 60? Look on any of the forums out there and there are tons of people asking for the ability to switch out the barrel, you would not have any problems getting at lea
