The big issue I see with having AI generate the code is that whoever the "coder"/developer who made that choice will not be able to debug, troubleshoot, handle, or fix any exemptions (errors) because they didn't build it or document their process. For simple tasks, like the examples in the video, this would be fine, but in larger scale -- especially government and private contracts that requires detailed documentations on how the program functions, what-when-why-who about a revision, or to meet certain specifications -- no shot. Might as well work for the company that programs the AI.
What I experienced in practice is that technical people who could just write code is forced to use no code/low code software. This makes their life much more hard, because that kind of software is not flexible enough to manage all the customers' needs and there are almost no workarounds for bugs.
I've gotten great at animating with Framer and the no-code editor makes it far more intuitive than having to do it all while coding. But Framer runs into annoying limitations as you become more ambitious. Like connecting components or gesture controls for mobile. It's quite hard, but not impossible to code that back into their framework and of course they're locking you into an ecosystem from which it is hard to escape.
Tiff can you make video about cooperation betwean programmer and artist? Iam thinking of making UIs as designer and wonder how it looks in practice. I mean communication
When you develop on a cloud subscription platform, they will integrate proprietary models directly into their tools but that feature is activated by a very high additional cost. I've seen one example and it was 30% added to your existing subscription cost to get the AI turned on. That's enough to keep the AI code generator only available to the worlds largest customers.
idk specifics but summarizing is what language models are good at eg. MS office has copilot which summarizes your meetings with bullet points based on the transcript of a recording. There's no reason AI can't analyze before/after code and summarize changes for a commit message.
AI won't replace technical teams, and no code won't replace software. What no-code is already doing is allowing non-technical founders to get to 10-100k users without capital intensive operations, which after the crazy money over the last 15 years is exactly what's needed.
Great for those who don’t have much knowledge; people can bring their ideas to life easily and at a low cost. I like having complete control over what I’m developing, I enjoy the development process, and it has to turn out the way I envisioned. I would use these tools only if it were truly necessary.
Big enterprises are not going to allow citizen developers to build apps and flow for critical enterprise processes where processes need regulatory compliance. Big enterprises do not like to be exposed to such risk. So, yes, there will always be a role for actual developers and developer architects to work on core business apps that need to meet strict compliance needs.
Hi Tiff, I am fresher into IT industry landed my career as a mendix developer (Low code - platform). Now I have another job as well which is full stack web developer. I am little bit confused at this situation. Also I am worried about low code lasting in this current low code platform that i will face difficulties while switching company after 2 - 3 years, because I couls able to develop applications with high level design and with advance features within a short period. But there is no chance to debug or thinking beyond my level Currently I felt like there is some limitation that i could not learn extra things because i am familiar to this platform there is no extra things untill I develop a low code plugin and publish. will you suggest me to take desicition at this situation.
Breathe... study and take on some personal projects actually coding to lerarn the concept while making means working at your current job And remember, Jesus is coming back... be careful and mindful as saturday is the actual day of the Lord
I am litterally in the middle of a presentation of code where my classmate used chatgpt to develop his code. In the middle of the presentation the code blew up and he had not a single clue on how to fix it. Needless to say... he failed the presentation...
You still need to test it properly, though. And as a human developer, you are responsible for the intent of the code your transformers generate, while the Transformer Provider is responsible for its fundamental behavior.
AI does not understand the code it produces. It learns from copying existing code for similar results. There is no reason why it should produce better code.
No-code platform development is a piece of shit sold to non-technical people to trick them into thinking they could be developers without hard technical skills, not to mention how much they spend to advertise their shitty platforms when all they did was re-inventing WordPress. For Low-code, the code quality of what you are building is just below par, maintainability of those apps is even harder 90% of the time. I often use no-code/low-code for bootstrapping what I'm intending to build, prototyping/replication could be the best description. All I know is that the so called no-code/low-code platform devs are mostly wannabes/lowballers who can settle for anything thrown their way.
no no code low code is the way to make managers believe they do not need developers, low code nocode is just a predefined set of available functions , within a strict context , and at the end you will regret adopting them especially once yoy need to custome , integrate or add some functionality that is easy in traditional code , for me no code low code is a scam and never deliver what it promise, for AI generated code wise developer will never use it as is at least he will read it , understand it , modify on it
Poll: Did you guess my mug was empty or actually had tea/coffee in it!? 😃
❤
😵💫
I think your mug is filled with coffee or tea
tiffni you didn't talk about power apps? how is this possible
A good programmer always has a cup of coffee or tea by his side (its just the way things work ) :)

Thanks Tiff for Sharing... both the tea with us and the tea about Developers not going anywhere!

Is copying and pasting code from Stack no-code/low-code now?
No that wouldn't be considered low code! That would just be copy and pasting!

Your videos are actually pretty damn good.
Is there an AI that can automatically write customizable git commit messages for me? That would actually be useful.

You were there in meta new glasses prototype testing?

Good techniques ❤❤❤❤❤
Sorry iam late 😅 good content as always ❤🎉
I’ve been using low code for like 10 years already. Definitely not the future but the present for many years already.

as functional business analyst this will be useful

Beauty and intellect 😍
i cracked no code as a framework like 2 years ago, why do billionaires keep stealing my shit
No code is really not going anywhere
♥
I think low code will become more used in the future since AI will be doing most of the coding then everyone else will be checking it for mistakes 😂
she has bailey's irish creme in her coffee
love from mars😂😂😂❤
hihi!!
awesome. chocolate milk hahahha jokes
