Would love to see a video of you showing the mods to your Jeep!!!! (gearing, axle shafts, wheels n tires etc)
Keep the content coming. Who knew watching people get rescued could be so interesting. Lol
The jeep build video is coming soon
You are a Master Recovery Expert. I can see the day where you expand your company so that you are running at least one identical Jeep in each of the 50 states, thereby providing nationwide Off Road Recovery service!
So cool! My wife and I love watching your recovery videos. Your little jeep is like mighty mouse!
I’m impressed with the jeeps ability to go thru water mud etc, and it’s pulling power
Its crazy. That gladiator eats up everything they throw at it
You should do a full review on your gladiator and accessories! At your convenience, of course!
Coming soon
I’ve always been a Ramsey winch guy! That warn winch is nice though! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Your Warn winch is impressive..( the best 12 volt electric winches i have seen ). Personally I still prefer MILE Marker Hydraulic winches... I will be installing two 10,500 lbs units on my Humvee in a few weeks ... Captain Ron, Naples FL
You havent seen Runva😉
Good low down on Warn’s new top dog winch, and review. Looks like a winner so far. The built-in temperature guage and shut down is great.
If anyone knows if it’s good stuff or not good stuff.
it’s gonna be you brother that is a fact!
Love your videos!
We definitely use the crap out of stuff daily
Not just reading the pamphlets from the mall parking lot
That jeep is a beast.....give us a video about it......Rubicon, willys...etc...lift, tires etc........keep up the good work!!!!!!
Coming soon
Great install! You've got an awesome rig!!
I was wondering how it was doing also. All the jobs lately, looked like it was doing amazing. Nice location mounting. Also didn't know about the relocation of electronic part.. very cool idea.
Thanks for sharing 👍
No problem
The next time I'm up in north Florida I'll look you up.
just let us know and we can go get some Fire House or something
Very cool tool, Thanks for sharing the install and your insight.
Looks like a nice unit, excellent explanation of how it works, stay safe !
Great job! truly nice to see your family combing experience, common sense, technology, and hard work. Your videos are truly entertaining, seeing a combination of a Jeep's capability with the ingenuity of how to recover; arguably a jeeper's worst case scenario, make it look easy. Keep it up.
Looking forward to seeing your Jeep build specs!
BTW, every think of selling those scotch blocks or a 'made to fit winch bracket' ??? I'd be very interested...
Looking at doing the same install on my power wagon, looks like a great winch
I want and need one of each!!!!!!
Wireless free spool is so clutch
Subscribing to show my Florida love!! Keep truckin and pluckin brother
That is the slickest rear winch gladiator setup. I tried and failed to find a solution to do the same and keep factory spare. I ended up going with a hitch rear winch we run during spring bear when going backwards is the only way out after breaking through.
All good!
Great channel. I’m a new sub. RUclips must be burying your channel because ive been into this exact genre for a few years and am just now finding you.
Do you have a video talking about your Jeep and what modifications you did?
I was wondering if you know why nobody uses Ramsey for personal use anymore? The warn 8279 is what made warn a legend the winch you couldn't kill. Curious for the price tag if it still as good as the og.
It is supposed to be better then the og but we will find out
We are gonna run it as is out of the box for awhile for an honest review
Then do the upgrades most people do
Air brake
Bigger motor
Ect
One of the greats on Warn 8274 is 150 of line. The classic. I'm one of the Ramsey winch users. 👍
@@DB-yj3qc and the 70ft/min vs 30 with the zeons
Now I see that you pulled that car out towards the end of the vid. What are your thoughts and opinions on pulling with a winch cable ? No prob just no snatching ?
Always open to learn. I drive semis in jax and see you on the road all the time man stay safe. Love what you do 👊🏼
When we drove at the end of the video it was in free spool
Good information.. Next time wear eye protection 😁
Can you show us how you installed your winch in the back? Was it a custom mount or something you bought?
We bought a general winch plate that was too long and them trimmed it to fit between the frame and welded it into place
What d rings are you running in the back of your jeep? Very informative video
amzn.to/3Rig0hE
3 Fahrenheit right now couldn’t climb underneath without removing snow. Jealous.
Whole whopping 39 here today 😂
I hope Warn is a sponsor. If it holds up for you I will buy one
nice
Gee-eez....thst salt water down there makes that thing look canadian on the underneath!! I wonder if fluid film would help with the rust? I know you go in alotta water but that stuff is pretty durable
That’s mud not rust.
Kind of a dumb (beginner’s) question, but what is the trick to watching how the cable/rope is being wound on the spool when the winch is recessed and hard to see? I have a new Power Wagon and, of course, the winch is tucked well aft of the bumper. Fun fact: Warn does not supply, or even have, an instruction booklet for that winch since they consider it a RAM part (and, not surprisingly, RAM says it’s a Warn part, so they have no info either). If money were no object, I would try to retrofit that wireless winch into the PW. Very handy.
You can buy the Warn wireless remote (part # 90287) and it'll work with your Power Wagon. Just plug in the receiver, hold both remote buttons to turn it on, and start winching. I've been using it on my Power Wagon for years and love it. It's not as fancy as the platinum remote but it's been dead reliable, batteries last forever, and it beats having to stay near the truck when winching.
Good morning, As a Gladiator owner as well, you definitely seem to put it through some extreme use consistently. Any issues with drivetrain, reliability.
None
That is awesome! Hopefully JEEP sees your vids and will partner with you. Definitely a testament to their durability and capabilities in the corrects hands! Love watching your vids. Especially being a former Floridian and wrecker operator doing off-road recoveries. @@matt.mckinzie
But Casey Ladelle said Warn winches were junk
He sure did didn’t he 😂
We find it very funny actually
We he has to pay for something out of pocket
It’s get the cheapest thing absolutely possible
(Harbor freight)
When he gets it for free to make videos (Yankum)
Do not buy Chinese buy the best absolutely possible
🤣
So basically you have mixed signals
@@matt.mckinzie All of those west coast RUclips know it all's on on the Harbor Freight teat. Buy CCP made junk, get CCP made junk.
matt, have you ever measured the voltage drop under load to that rear winch? looks like pretty large awg wire running from front to back, I'd be curious to know how it performs.
i run a big inverter and occasionally a winch from the back of my truck using 20ft of 0awg ofc from dual batteries up front and it drops below 10v anytime i draw over 150amps of current. maybe ill have to add another battery in the back.
Idk I been running it this way for almost a year
I may measure it tho
We also thought about adding a battery near the back
sounds good
for what it's worth my winch doesn't seem to care about the voltage drop near as much as the inverter does.
0 gauge will carry enough amps to brown out the alternator if pushed hard enough. I used to have some huge subs in my old cherokee and all the lights would dim to the music
Gladiator has a 240A alternator.
@@tylermacconnell217 or replace it with a high output 400a one
How did you mount the winch under the bed? I would like to do something like this on my f150.
Iv got 2 big questions I’m having to put a new winch rope on my WARN 12k what rope do you recommend. 2nd question how often do you have to maintenance your Rig/Jeep doing recovery’s like that all the time.
Hey man, in one of your videos (maybe one pulling out a skid steer) you had a quick reference slide card you were using to calculate the pulling force and anchor force needed.
Where did you get that... I need one too
zips.com/parts-detail/wreckmaster-resistance-load-calculator-wmcalc
How are you liking the Jowl shackles? I’ve got two of them, fortunately haven’t needed to use them yet.
I'm interested in picking up a couple pulleys and a few hundred feet of rope. Might use it for recovery around my property or tree work. What brands do you recommend?
Remote has parasitic current draw when stored. Repeated depletion of battery results in premature failure. Has this problem been fixed yet?
Matt : since you have used platinum for good time , have you had problems with remote holding a charge ??
No, we use it about 2 weeks before it’s dead and needs plugged in
Fully charged in about 25 minutes
Not a big deal everyone made it out to be
When you don’t use it often like we do we would just say after your trail day plug it in
Then leave it plugged in until the next trail day
@@matt.mckinzie ,,, if I charge fully and not use it , within 6-10 days it has no charge ,,, completely run down ,,, have same result after got another new battery
@@joeking3339 that’s because it stays connected to the winch reading the voltage and such
It’s not truly off more like a standby mode
And that’s why it dies and makes people upset
Do I think they could modify it? Absolutely
Does it bother me it drains ? Nope
All the wreckers I’ve operated over the last 10 years were all immediately placed on a charger after each hook up if not a brite red light flashed on dash and said remote not in cradle
@@matt.mckinzie ok ,,, thanks Matt !
With all the deep water trails you drive on why don’t you have a snorkel?
What winch mount did you use?
Dang you mind shipping the old winch to me 😂😂
It’s on another truck already
HOW WELL IS THAT ROPE GOING TO WORK WHEN ITS BEEN DRAGGED THRU THAT THICK MUD AND IS SPOOLED BACK ON THE WINCH
It's pretty cool and the aux buttons built into the wireless remote is a nice touch. But you can buy FOUR 12k lbs badIanz with money left over for the price of this winch. and this thing is only 10k lbs rated. Also we are in the 'drone" era. There are endless DIY kits out there where you can build a wireless remote with relays, etc.. It doesn't' cost much. I'm not seeing what you get here for all that extra cost.
This is a 12k winch 🤦♂️
There is going to come a point in your life where none of your kids will have a job because there won’t be any jobs
Because everyone rather buy Chinese products over American products
Then complain that there is no American jobs
What gear ratio is your jeep and size tires are you running
5.38 and 40” tires
Was anything wrong with the old winch?
No we are transferring it to the red ford
Are you running the stock v6
Yes
8274 is the better winch.
We will be finding out
It’s what made warm what they are today. I really like your videos.
Be honest .is alot of people you recover drunks.or under the influence.lmbo.
Oh only a meager $2,600 bucks. No sweat. I could almost buy another snow plow. Ill buy a snow plow, Way overpriced, id get a Apex Hobo freight one instead. But most of us dont have that kind of expendable money.
We burnt up 3 of those hobo winches
You get what you pay for
@@matt.mckinzie nonetheless...regular folks that don't do daily recoveries at full service need for a winch I'm sure a $300 one will do, but 2600 wayyyyy over priced. Warn Catering to the super wealthy apparently...
@@jonathanfreedom1st if you understand the difference between a throw away winch
And
A commercial winch you wouldn’t be complaining about price
One is made for cheap people with the absolute cheapest materials
Made to run very short amount of time
No bearings
When the other one is made with the highest grade material
Made to run for a very long time
All rebuildable
Commercial use 7 year warranty
Once I slap that badlands on a commercial vehicle it’s not covered 😂
Again you get what you pay for
But we can ask you a question
What vehicle do you drive?
Why not a scooter 🛴
Scooters are cheaper
You can buy 407 high dollar scooters for the price of your vehicle
So sad to break the news!!!..☝️☝️that old Warn 12,000 is made in ChinaTown as well!!☝️🙄
