Berserk has influenced so much. He was the original black swordsman, basically the first guy with a big sword. Dark souls for example has enemies ingame similar to berserk and you can even find "the greatsword" ingame, which basically is dragonslayer .
even Elden Ring is heavily influenced by Berserk the pose of Blaidd is exact as Guts in armor there is a Giant sword based after Guts some giant dogs surrounding the Chest with the sword is similiar to Guts inner demon the Calvary armor set is Berserker armor without helmet some enemies and armor is exactly based off on Berserk
Berserk inspired Dark Souls, Guts inspired every "anime big sword" character including Cloud from FF7 and his prosthetic hand inspired automail in Fullmetal Alchemist!
Guts is just built different. Him and Kenshiro are just the biggest Chads in anime. Also on the animation. Death Battle has approximately 2/3 more sprite animations in their playlist over 3D or hand drawn animations. Reason being is time and resource constraints. They can't produce Hugh quality 3D animations for every video, for every two weeks, while simultaneously working on ten videos in the background to upload on a tight schedule to be uploaded later. It's just not possible. On average Death Battle produces around 6-8 animation a month, each one needing their own research, background information and time dedication to them. So it's just more time efficient to have the ones that require less time to research/the outcome is more clear cut to be done in sprite form. They've been doing this for years, their first 3D animation ever was Link Vs Cloud and that's only after nearly twenty sprite animations all done by Ben the showrunner. So going forward, try not to have expectations of every Death Battle being full 3D or hand drawn animations. With over 200 videos, less than a third of them are that type of animation. You'll see far more sprite battles then not. Just a disclaimer moving forward with these reactions.
There's a chapter where Sheirk is giving the entire team magical weapons and she tried to give Guts a flaming battleaxe. He said naw, I'm keeping the Dragonslayer.
Ivy vs orchid is good also, other chick/cat fights: 0. Ivy (Soul Calibur = SC) vs Black Orchid (Killer Instinct = KI) 1. Chun Li (street fighter = SF) vs Mai Shiranui (king of fighters = KoF) 2. Felicia (dark stalkers = DS) vs Taokaka (blueblaz = BB) 3. Cammy White (Street Fighter = SF) vs Sonya Blade (mortal kombat = MK) 4. Tifa Lockhart (Final Fantasy 7 = FF7) vs Yang (RWBY)
I recommend Raiden vs wolverine (not mortal kombat Raiden its a different one from metal gear) you would obviously know about wolverine but Raiden would be new to you (I think?) Its also another 3D one
When they were introducing guts one thing they forgot to mention about Dragonslayer is that it was actually used before to slay an actual dragon and the dragons soul is trapped inside
that's...not true. I even double checked wiki to be sure ( i was reading berserk for last...25 years and memory can be unreliable). "A common misconception stemmed from manga fan translations is that the Dragon Slayer was once used to kill an actual dragon; it has yet to be used to do as much. The manga does, however, feature an image of a decapitated dragon's head in volume 3's cover art, and a bisected one when Godot initially describes the sword. Additionally, it is used by Guts to decisively overpower the dragon-apostle Grunbeld." So no, guts never killed actual dragon and there is no souls trapped inside even if sword was empowered by fire spirit at one point.
To describe Guts in two words:
Medieval Doomguy.
More like doomguy is space guts
Medieval Ash & space Ash.
@@altxogershavelayers5166space ash? Excuse me? Is this some comic or something?
@@altxogershavelayers5166 It took me a second to realize you meant Ash from Evil dead, and not from Pokemon.
Nightmare is merely a pebble in the strugglers rocky path

About most of the Souls Bourne games are inspired off berserk
a commenter on the original video described this perfectly
"for nightmare, this was the fight of his life.
for guts, this was just another tuesday"

I LOVE seeing ppl react to Guts’ story who don’t know his story
because its INSANE!

Berserk is the greatest dark fantasy manga ever written.
Berserk and Warhammer 40k.
this dude is so underrated, it actually seems like he is interested in the video unlike others, great work man!

My all time favorite Death Battle episode was TJ Combo vs Balrog
You should check that one out
Mine too.

Samurai Jack vs Afro Samurai
a really good anime vs MCU/marvel death battle:
Carnage (spiderman = MCU/marvel) vs Kaede ("Lucy") (Elfen Lied manga/anime)
Way back when I watched this battle, I realized I had a plan to not watch or read Berserk.
Yeah, definitely not for everyone...

Thats pretty baller. They should have mentioned that.

but it's cool to see that in the 90s japanese were introducing interracial partners compared to the west.
