Again, I have gained more from your lesson of the Olive Tree than I ever did in seminary or other classes. I am so thankful for the privilege of finding you in my come follow me search of the scriptures. I have recently gone through another bout of beating myself up. Asking the Lord to forgive me for losing three of his sons. I've been pleading the same prayer for almost 30 years. Your lesson added so much comfort and peace to the comfort and peace that I got when praying this last time about our sons. This time, I had the impression come that told me," You still have a thousand years."We still have our 2nd son that is true and faithful, but the others almost 4yrs. ago when my husband passed won't have anything to do with me. They don't think it is right that I pay tithing or waist my time going to the Temple. I have so much to be thankful for I can't deny what I know to be true. Thanks
you again and again for your time and efforts in helping to build my Testimony even stronger. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family with your needs and your Testimonies.

Sweet Sister, hold to the rod. The Lord has not lost your sons. In His time He will return them to you. I know your pain, but we must keep building and strengthening our testimonies. Conference, with all the talks on covenants and temples, should give you hope. Hope in Christ, hope in the waiting, where so much can happen. Blessings to you.

So so grateful! I’m coming 83 this year, a convert with much thanks to a member friend who brought me a Book of Mormon while I was in the hospital after a horse rolled on top of me51 years ago. I’m so grateful to be able to still go to the temple and help with his vineyard on the other side of the veil Thank you BrotherHalverson for sharing your wonderful gift with us. I, too, had a severe equestrian accident, and haven't met someone else with a similar situation. I apologize this is long. I wound up life-flighted with a tbi, skull fracture, bone fragments on my brain, & my left ear dangling by a piece of skin.
Yet, miracles & blessings I've received are beyond the expectations of my medical & therapeutic team.
I lived! As of 2018, I can walk and talk, think, and my thinking is clearing. I can hear out of that ear, my plastic surgeon reattached my ear, and you can hardly tell it's slightly different from the other. My handwriting has returned to normal & my personality is the same (according to family & friends.
I am almost back to my percussion instrumental music abilities. Still trying to regain my piano proficiency, no longer able to play for sacrament, primary, accompanying vocalists & sightreading. I'm trying.
On occasion, balance is an issue but tai chi is helping.
Heavenly Father has been good to me. My medical team is still in awe and agree it's rare & must be of God.
When I found Bro. Hal, it sure helped my understanding when reading comprehension was realigning. He & Heavenly Father have blessed you, too! Thank you for sharing!

However, when we came thus far, I must say I did so with a great big sigh of "oh no, here we go again!" Then, your most wonderful manner of teaching, and enthusiasm for a passage I found absolutely incomprehensible, helped me understand SO much - when you explained through metaphorical, allegorical and anagogical means the wonder of the revelations which Zenos and the Prophet Joseph received to help us understand the fullness of the

    Reverlation 7: 2 & 3
"2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads."
Because Joseph Smith Jr is the head of the dispensation of the fullness of time, I suspect that he most likely is this angel. And he is probably the servant in the allegory of the vineyard that suggests to the Lord of the Vineyard to not burn the vineyard just yet, but to labour again for one more last time, before the vineyard burned.

Love every word! I learn so much. ALMOST. Jacob 5:47 -- Is there significance that the Lord of the vineyard says that he stretched forth his hand ALMOST all the day long? Something to ponder? I almost won the race. I almost ringed the horseshoe. I almost got a 4.0 grade...etc. Why would HE say almost?

I had another thought...He said almost because his work was almost done, but not quite.

I see it as- like a parent says…
I “practically” did your whole homework myself… “all but” giving you all the answers… ( he “all but “ helped the vineyard all day long…) the branches/roots needed “a space of time” to choose…good or bad choices-
So he couldn’t help in ALL THINGS… or he would have robbed AGENCY-

I can’t help but think that President Nelson wants us to be good fruit and he feels and wants to work with us one more time, talk to us one more time, persuade us one more time.

Why is the olive grove in Jacob 5 called a vineyard instead of a grove?

sealing in the temple, the garner of God. parallel to Christ rending the veil that we may enter there.
laying up fruits against the season as a parallel to bringing us into God's presence that we may be gardeners ourselves.
and thus all is one eternal round and his plan is perfect for by Christ AND Temple together are all these things made possible. By Christ and the Church. A man and his wife. There is no other way for perpetual increase, for eternal life.

You can stay with the scriptures but lighten the load on backstory of your process and object lessons, maybe just 1 or 2.

I don't think the lord of the Vinyard was introspective when he was asking "what could I have done more?" I believe it was more rhetorical , as he was speaking with the servant. Letting the servant know that he had done everything and then allowing the servant to choose how to respond. The lord always does everything he can, while allowing our agency.

My daughter married a Muslim. She has a testimony of the gospel, she has read the Book of Mormon. She is reading the Quran and is wondering if the Lord that they are speaking about is Jesus Christ or God the Father.

I don’t believe the Lord second guessed Himself. Nephi had seen the destruction of his people. The Lord knew it was going to happen. He weeps at our bad choices even when He knows they are coming because He loves us.
