I had to stop playing guitar 🎸4 years ago when I was diagnosed with severe carpal tunnel syndrome !!! I had put off. the surgery for a long time I heard a lot negative things obout it 10 months ago I had the new nerve stabilization surgery 2 weeks later no pain just saw your video going to buy this guitar I'm going to have to relearn but I might as well sound good while I'm doing it thanks 😊 for your video and wish me luck 😀 😊
@@DarrellBraunGuitar Hi Darrell, I'm a big fan of stainless steel frets. I was wondering if you might do a shootout of guitars that come with stainless steel frets?
I'm one who like both Traditional and Modern features on guitars, even on the same guitar( locking tuners Tusq nut), but FORGET relicing a New guitar..gives me chills thinkin about it.
I can sort of understand the relic of a custom shop old 1961 type guitar, but even then I prefer a “closet classic” type of relic than a heavy aged one. But a brand new guitar? I shudder at the thought
Haven’t seen your videos for a while. I am happy to see that your channel grow and you improved a lot the quality of your reviews (they are already really great back then). What a guitar, man. All the best for you
This looks so much like a partscaster Strat I built. It has an American Pro II Dark Night body and a American Pro Mahogany/Rosewood neck. The resemblance with the darker neck wood is uncanny!
The look of the demo was really cool. Somebody kicked up his video creation game a notch (not that it wasn't already really good). BTW, the Fender Special Edition tele in amber video is still my go to when I'm looking at my next future guitar. Keep up the great work!
Looked up the guitar and there is also a s800 and s801. But they all showed, including the p800 your reviewing, that they had Bluetooth, drum machine, and a 80 second looper. And also can get a control pedal to operate it all. Did you test those functions? Or does it actually have those functions? First time I’ve seen a review for this, or ever heard of it. But would like to see all the functions demonstrated. Also, can you use effects together, or can they only be used one at a time? Thanks for the review! Amazing the stuff they are coming up with lately!
I have a 2003 Schecter C-1 Elite which has a flame maple neck -- gorgeous! -- but it isn't roasted. In Schecter's defense, NO ONE was roasting woods that long ago. Of course, this guitar lacks about 1 year of being considered vintage, so that neck is now in the well-dried, stable condition that the roasting process approximates. I'm WAY cool with that!
I have a Fender Southern Cross Strat with the same finish and a white pickguard, it was Made in Brazil in the 90's and many people don`t know that Fender also produced guitars in Brazil (manufactured by Gianinni). Fender calls it "Moonburst". =)
This is getting close...for what I'm required to do in the bands I'm in though, I still need guitar modeling tech so I can switch alternate tunings on the fly as well as guitar models, combined with amp and speaker modeling...I'm hoping soon someone will come out with what I would call a "Gig Axe"...meaning all the amp, effects, and guitar modeling is built into the guitar (a well made 24 fret guitar with a trem...it could even be like a virtual trem built in like a Virtual Jeff)...the guitar would have presets you could create and load into the guitar, like put your presets in sequential order of how they would be for the gig's setlist...and your pedal would be a wireless controler that you could use to scroll from one preset to the next, and then a volume/ wah that would also work via bluetooth to do those functions...the guitar would have a really good stereo wireless system built into it that you could hook the receiver into 2 channels of your pa mixing board..or you forego the whole wireless part, and have 2 output jacks on the guitar, so the guitarist could use 2 cables into the board for stereo, or one for mono, or if they wanted to do wireless, they could just get two guitar wireless units...and if you're not a wah user, then you'd just have up/ down scrolling buttons on the guitar to scroll thru your presets so you wouldn't even need a pedal board, just the guitar with built in virtual amp modeling, virtual capoing for each string, and virtual guitar models that can be programmed into each preset...oh, and it would have to sound really really good and play and look just as good as it sounds...

When you said high end I thought the price was going to be crazy, not so. Most run $899. The one you are playing is $1099. I’d say it packs a lot of value for the price. MiM strats are getting up around that price without any of the value stuff that this one has. I’d dare say, other that fresh strings there’s nothing I would change on this guitar and I never leave a guitar stock.
IDK man. One thing Fender doesn't seem to skimp on are the truss rods. They always seem to have good truss rods. Not always the case on import guitars.
I had the electrica Japans version of the les Paul , I called it the Roy Clark, lol that was the sweetest playing guitar I ever played and the interchanging effects were cool as hell for the day, but for-real don’t buy it save and buy the two separately if ur in a band that gives u time to mess with that , I barely had time to switch pickups, get a helix, or a 100, or an 1000 if you’re serious and on a budget save get right the first time.
As always-great review. You cover nearly everything positive and negative and I appreciate that. I also seem to learn something new each video. Thanks for your work!!
It's definitely gorgeous! Onboard FX are nice, but by themselves, they wouldn't persuade me to buy it - or not buy it. Not as ridiculously expensive as I expected, but hardly a bargain…
Hi Darell, have you already done a vid on the S800 model? Also when you did the recap of the good stuff here you should have mentioned the roller string tree and staggered tuners and you should get the footswitch and review it with that. I have the S and the footswitch and just got them a couple of days ago. Mine is pink and so is the footswitch and just playing without the fx, I love it already. My S neck is roasted too but not flamed. It has a bone nut but it sticks out a tiny bit past the neck at the bass E string. You don't really feel it at all playing though. The rest of it is just flawless. I am really kicking myself for not getting this as a backer on KIckstarter for over a hundred less plus the footswitch. Grrrrrrr. The GTRS android app is bit wonky. I had a feeling when I got the S that there was going to be a better one coming. I also think there will be a 900 or 1000 series. Mooer is just going to keep making me give them money, I think. For fun, you should check the GTRS PTNR, a really tiny BT amp for the GTRS. Even smaller than a Blackstar Fly, it is about 60 bucks. Last, I don't know it it applies to the Pro but, my Standard came packed in a really high quality gig bag with thick padding that is even semi hard and the smoothest zippers I have ever felt on a guitar case. It has a nice velcro neck rest made out of a thick block of fabric covered foam and a big pocket and backpack straps and a nice handle and it is a tweedy gray. I like it so much that I expect to use it onstage. Although I am an old, deaf, singer, songwriter, guitarist, I have only done it a short time and I only turned pro when the clubs opened after covid and invited me to play my first ever, full sets, and they even paid me. A big jump after just doing some open mics., which started on a dare, lol! I am nothing special as a singer or player but I write well and I have lots of fun and so the crowd does too. They even sing along to stuff they never heard before. I was always a solo and just did my own original rock but now, for the very first time in my life, I am in a band. I am really excited about trying it.The other 3 guys have a ton of experience touring and recording but they want me to front it even though I am so new. A couple of weeks ago I got 2 other electrics and I wonder if you ever tried these. They are completely illegal copies and I"m told that customs destroys them when they catch them. One is a Fender SRV reliced strat which is an exact copy with all the stickers etc.and says made in America, and , the other is an 80th Anniversary B.B. King Gibson in matte black with the gold hardware and all the inlays and gold autograph and the Varitone etc and also says it is made in America. They are knockoffs from China though. I like the SRV except for the copies of the Kluson style tuners. Hard to believe that SRV actually played a strat with those tuners. I have not really bonder with the BB yet. Anyway, I am a huge fan and watch tons of your videos and learn a great deal. Keep doing what you do for us all.
Looks like a very nice guitar, i just don't understand how in 2022 there are still builders that use the square neck joint, it doesn't make sense from a design/ergonomics point of view and there have been better solutions on the market for decades (even on cheap guitars) , but as we all know guitars players are a very conservative bunch and taking those 10 grams of wood to square off the heel would kill the guitar's mojo.

It would throw friends off to plug that guitar into an old Gorilla GG20 and have the effects on.
How do you turn the effects off ? Do you have to swivel the knob all the way back down, or cycle through the 5 effects ?
Oh wonder if that trem set up would go on my gtrs 800 seafoam green 😁😁😁😁😁😁
I'm curious to know where you ordered this product from
The manufacturers website has no price SMH and the Amazon link has zero on this guitar. 🤬😠😡 Talk about a bunch of jackasses.
Mono effects, why? I'd jump on this if it was stereo.
Guitar look very professionally made. But I would skip the effects features, kinda harsh sound...
Hey, this is a little off subject but have you tried Tonerider Alnico ii pickups?
What's the difference between the 800 and the 801 versions? of the standard version. This is the pro version though. Can you add extra FX maybe via a mobile app or hooking up to a desktop?.
The QR code made me smile, lol
yeah db!!
I'd love it if you did a Fender Player Plus Meteora review..
Loved the intro track and tone - what amp was that?
I like the way you play. 👍
I thought “oh wait a Fender Amer Pro I can afford, oh nope still can’t….” Perfect colour, and that neck is what is missing from a AmPro
Amazon says "not available". And it lists different specs for the body wood Basswood instead of Alder. hm.
It also says "We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock. " hm again.
Don't leave home without it.
Very unique, apart from fender did It already
A beauty!
does gtrs sell a loaded pickguard?
Does it have acoustic guitar simulation?
Yes, it does.
