I think Canada Post should be making cuts from the top down! A CEO that loses this much money and gets paid over $500,000 a year plus bonus! People need to stop picking on the blue collar workers and start supporting their fellow Canadians.

@keithpalmer4547 That was their entire plan from the start. Wait until shortly before Black Friday and the Christmas season before going on strike then demand the moon in compensation while people put the pressure on to get back to work and just pay them whatever it takes. At this point; I’d rather watch them stay on strike forever and then be forced to get real jobs.
If you were a hiring manager, how would you feel seeing this on a resume: “Canada Post Employee, Mail, Package, and Flyer Technician 2007-2024”? My guess is that any resume listing Canada Post as prior employment would go straight to the paper shredder.

Do losses fall on workers who merely deliver the mail or the ones running the company? The same CEO who took over in 2019, who only accelerated losses in billions since taking over, should he keep his job and get a fat bonus for losing billions along with his executives and 14 VPs? Are you even aware of the working conditions for postal workers? And not just in southern Ontario which I’m sure you’re from but nationwide? With you so honed in on “greed and jealousy of the CEOs” as your main point it’s obvious you lack the facts. You are clueless when it comes to the job and its conditions, clueless about the postal system, clueless about everything you’re spewing. Apply that to the whole middle class and we have our productivity problem in a nutshell. Just 2 weeks off and stagnant wages, how are people supposed to enjoy life like that?

I don't know how I feel about this. I've been waiting for a package since before the strike happened (expected delivery was October 29th) and it went from Mississauga to fucking EDMONTON where it still sits as of today. I live in Toronto!! It cleared customs in Mississauga so it was scanned to be in Toronto. It makes no sense logistically to send it to another province even if they're overwhelmed. Do you know how much fuel is wasted for a package to go back and forth? I doubt I'm the only one this happens to, and it shows how much money they waste on being this incompetent.
It just shows that Canada Post needs a reform entirely. Despite them fumbling for over a decade - they had years and years to change their mentality from mail-notes to package delivery, and they under preform. It's hard to sympathize with the workers when they're opportunistically taking advantage of the season AND they've historically been awful.

Other carriers deliver on the weekends, there are carriers who deliver up until 8:00pm or even 10:00 p.m. (rare cases). Canada Post has stuck by these rigid ideals, which is why they are losing money all the time.

If we want us level productivity without the bad health or burnout with fair wages, lets copy germany and france. Their productivity rivals the us, and they get 5 or 6 weeks off and fair wages. Seems like its pretty easy to solve our productivity problem.

Eight of the last 10 times that I have used Canada Post has been smooth and uneventful. There was this one clerk that was going to ship my parcel, a model of the HMS Victory, back to England because I had overlooked to update my address on my driver's license. The 8 previous times has been marijuana, for birthday and Christmas, and Canada Post even has the envelopes. So with this strike, Purolator won't touch the ounce unless I travel 15 kilometers out to YQM, and the buses don't go out that far...so it sits at my keyboard. However, I did mail all the grandchildren's gifts out during the first week of November and they are safely in Mommy's and Daddy's closet. Then there is Sandra, she and I shared the same student parking lot at high school back in the late 70's and early 80's, she delivers the mail here at a building of 500 with one of those little delivery trucks and she is always polite; but now and again complains about the volume of flyers; especially when 15 minutes of driving away, the flyers are left in a pile headed for file 19. There are a lot of homeless here, as across Canada, that could use a job reading postal codes and sorting mail bins for the season.

That group of eastern ave employees pretty much sums up the state of affairs.
They all started at Tim Hortons and MacDonalds, they moved up to Canada Post and still they are not happy with full time government employment.
When they get replaced by AI processing and sorting technology as a result of unrealistic contract demands and sub par efficiency, who are they going to blame ?

The operation for courier as Canada Post ( government official delivery organization ), basically involve 3 parts , the superior is Civics/users/customers , then the lower parties,Company and Worker union .
If the strike as 2018 , rotation strike , the civics /users/ customers' affection were small , so we don’t care the strike .
But the strike this time , these two lower parties compete for own gain profit to hurt and sacrifice the superior part, civics/users /customers .
So we must fire the Canada Post Company and worker union .
If you don't take action to invlove immediately , All customers ,users and civics who have parcels are processing in the facility of Canada post will access “class action” to lawsuit Canada Post for missing delivery promise

To All Media Organization in Canada . . . . Please ask Canada Post Management The Following
    1) Whose Fault is it if Sales Volumes are down for the last few years.
    2) Why did Management give themselves Bonuses and Incentives this year if they are are making losses
    3) Did they offer Bonuses and Incentives to Union Members
    4) Do they say Investments in a new state of the art mail processing plant is part of the loss
    5) Do they say that part of the loss is also because they purchased new EV Delivery Van's which are not being used ? Why were they purchased.
I Urge the All The Canadian Media to push Canada Post Spokesperson to answer these questions.

Let them spend the winter outside on the picket line. Then they just might appreciate having a job to put food on the table and roof over their head unlike a lot of others in this country than aren’t so fortunate. CP losing so much money and here they are with their hands out. Instead of striking they should be sitting at a table to help
figure out how to stop the huge losses

Maybe its time to stop that. We dont have an real economy without a real middle class and small business needs that real middle class. Maybe its time to focus generally being fair to the people who make our society and economy run. Not just those at the very top.

Let’s be real here. There is no job security in any job. Inflation will always out pace annual salary increases. Want to get ahead ? Start a part time business , do a side gig or something to make extra money, and control your own time.

The way i look at it. Management needs to significantly cut their pay, and any losses in the books mean no bonuses until making a profit. Bonus shouldn't be more than 3%. They don't need anything anymore than that. Come on, man! The strike we will have to close our doors.
Canada Post will need to hire more employees to add weekend shifts to remain competitive and concentration on parcel. If they want to survive. Cost should be more in line US postal service. Shipping companies are killing small businesses.
