I was an EN on a diesel powered ship that was commissioned in 1944, AS-19 This video makes the job look easy....one of my happiest days was getting transferred out of the Aft. Engine Room to a gig in the Small Boat Crew..that was a blast 1979-1982.. On Motor Whaleboat Watch the EN gets the M-16 to shoot sharks during Man Overboard Drills

I ship out as EN August 5th 2020, and I'm a small frail girl so I'm not sure if I will be able to handle everything thrown at me, but I will damn well sure try my best

You learn more on a frigate being an engineman than you would anywhere else in the navy because evrything exept the gas turburnes was yours. 14 hour days weren't shit on this kind of boat.Sad to see them go but i don't miss working on shit that was older than most guys that worked on them.

Donovan Stevens that’s the truest it comes. I am an Enginemen, two years strong in DC, and still searching for a good teacher. When your attached to a ship with a cadre who’s concern are training their division, I have to believe you’ll make it. Don’t ever give up the ship.
