The problem with driving a clam car is that you can only fill up at a Shell station.

You have to do the Possum Lodge Word Game. Or even a full episode, preferably anything from 1998 to 2005. They were all gold. Handyman Corner is great but there was so much more to the show

My fave "handyman" thing he did was adding gull-wing doors to his station wagon. Couldn't stop laughing.

I have to wonder what it was like on set coming up with these creations. That actually took some work getting the hinges to function and look so cheezy.

I met the geeky looking guy with the glasses (Harold ?) in the late 90’s in the North Star hobby shop. . I wouldn’t have known it was him except someone who already met him pointed him out. Looked totally different than when in character.

Hi Tash ~ a quick note…most of us feel Steve Smith is a “national treasure” and deserved the Order of Canada. However, I wanted to mention that before comedy, Steve was an engineer, so his “handy” constructions come naturally!
Interestingly, my brother and father converted a golf cart a couple of years ago. They both took engineering at university and enjoy tinkering constantly! I’m sure they would get along with your hubby, who is mechanically inclined!
    Cheers!🇨🇦☺🇦🇺

Steve Smith is still alive. He's in his late seventies now, so he's a little less active, but I wouldn't be surprised if he still drives a clam car. He's a very creative and funny man.

They also made a feature length film called "Duct Tape Forever", which was released in 2002. I've had a look at the first book they published, appropriately titled "The Red Green Book". I know there was also "Red Green Talks Cars: A Love Story". I think there was one other book, but I can't think of the title right now.

G'Day Tash! These shows always cracked me up. There are so many more....lol There is an idea for a show, the Canadian Walk of Fame or people who have been inducted.

Steve Smith is about 80, he and his wife started Smith and Smith Productions which produced Smith and Smith Comedy Mill (Where Red Green started as a bit), You Can't Do That on Television (Alanis Morissette was a cast member) and the Red Green Show. There's still a podcast available.I just ordered the hat, depiste having one issued to me back in my Army reserve days.

Red Green was popular with Boomers. I'm Gen X and didn't appreciate him until RUclips. Oh...I'm dying!!! 😂

Millennial here: I watched this back in the day when it was still on TV. Admittedly, it was a favourite show of my dad and grandpa, but I inherited their sense of humour.

Hey Tash, I absolutely loved Red Green growing up. To this day I still know the mans prayer. All of the episodes, full and clips are on You Tube on the RedGreenTV channel. The cast of characters included Graham Green as Edgar Montrose the demolition expert. His ideas for getting rid of weeds in your lawn included little jars of gasoline placed next to the weed and you just wait until the sun heated them up enough to blow. Boom no more weeds.

The shows been off for a while, but still good. they had a 3 or 4 wide roll of duct tape from 3m on set.

  • @PeteSmoot

I'm surprised Red didn't just duct tape (the handyman's best friend) the two carts together.
Remember, if the woman don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Red Green is your typical Canadian who uses a lot of duct tape. Thinks he's pretty handy. Will buy surplus satellite dishes, if given the chance, obviously.
Now, we all know how this will end up. Either he'll solve the problem of parallel parking. Or the world will blow up, LOL 😊
    So funny!

Those clam cars are more the standard model, you should see our more fancy clam cars. I'd love to see Ajoobe build a clam car.
