I am from Andhra Pradesh but don't know Kuchipudi dance from my state is this beautiful and grace. Sadly Kuchipudi didn't get the fame it deserves because of obviously ignorant Telugu people like me. Also the dancer is so great with her expressions and graceful dance. I want Kuchipudi dancers start wearing this type of simple costume which differentitate Kuchipudi from Bharatanatyam. Most of the people can't differentiate even both are much different. So Kuchipudi needs different costumes like simple saree representing Telugu culture.
People who have knowledge can actually differentiate between Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam easily!! If you observe carefully even the costumes are different!! There are many differences between Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam costumes including hair dressing!! Anyways for easy identification for beginners, there are 2 very important differences: 1. Bharatanatyam is more with strong foot work (They hit their feet quite strongly and frequently) whereas, Kuchipudi is more about strong expressions (Foot work is comparatively softer)!! 2. In Bharatanatyam there is no lip sync, whereas in Kuchipudi you must sing the song while dancing (lip sync is must)
