I’ve only read the Death series so far but I’m hoping Death of Rats makes some little cameos in the other Discworld books because I loved him so much! My biggest problem with all the Death books was that I liked Death’s character too much and when we switched to another perspective I just kept thinking “go back to Death already” lol
I think I know what you mean Alex. Death is a secondary character in a lot of his books. At least the first three especially in Soul Music. I’m hoping he’s more front and centre in Hogfather which I just stated
@@TreeBeardBookReviews It’s been long enough ago that I can’t remember how much he’s featured in Hogfather but I do know I rated that one the highest of the Death books. Hope you enjoy!
I agree with WiseStitch, great review, thank you TreeBeard. I just bought "The Color of Magic" this past weekend and am looking forward to jumping in. Good times. "In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded" - Terry Pratchett....LOL
Thank you! That’s great, glad you are going to be getting into the Discworld! I would always recommend starting at Guards! Guards! However, starting at the beginning is always better than not starting at all. I’m going to be doing my most anticipated Discworld books very soon.
There is much debate on where to start. Discworld is interesting because each book is a self contained story but the further in you are you can miss on some character connections. I always recommend people check out The Discworld Emporium www.discworldemporium.com/content/6-discworld-reading-order it is a very comprehensive list of where and how to start Discworld. I started with Going Postal. The Colour of Magic and the Light Fantastic I've heard just suffer a little from Terry still forming the discworld in his writings, that is why most recommend Guards! Guards!
@@TreeBeardBookReviews This is great TB, I like the Thematic reading orders. Given that you recommended "Guards! Guards!" I think I will start with the City Watch theme...good times! Thanks for the guidance, I appreciate it.

I think shopping mall is the death od cities. That is the connection.
Thank you!
The DEATH part of this book was incredible. The other part though kind of blew chunks.
Awesome review! I’m excited to start the Death series.
Really solid review. Currently reading Reaper Man myself. So far so good. Have read before but that was a looong time ago.
this one was much better for me after I thought about it more. It could even be rated higher with a reread

@@TreeBeardBookReviews interesting, will do! Is there a preferred reading order?
