Just finished Reaperman and liked it a lot, the wizards bickering is an absolute delight and the death of rats was adorable - and I'm terrified of rats !!
Needless to say Death was top notch !!!

A bit late, but I think you’ll enjoy the bit with the Moll and shopping trolleys more enjoyable if you know that it is a parody of the movie Aliens. I didn’t catch that until my third read.

I can’t for the life of me figure out what death did to “outwit” new death. How did Ms Flitworth, holding her hour glass distract new death? There’s endless pages about how trolleys get about from hatching out of snow globes to forming shopping malls, but just a quick confusing sentence about the duel between the two deaths… what gave death the upper hand?

I recently read it, as i understand it, it was forshadowed before that anyone can give one's time in life to others, its just really rare, Miss Flitworth did it for old death, and new death was to much a sucker for the rules, for its own detriment, ironicly giving the advantage to the old death.

Death is great, I thought Windle was hilarious though, when I'm listening to it the bit where he says "booo, bugger off" still gets me to chuckle out loud

I was surprised how much I liked Windle Poons in this book!

Death is such a great character! I did move onto this one from Mort and I am glad you recommended that I did that as I really enjoyed this too. My mind wandered a bit too reading this, but then my mind does that anyway.... what was I saying?... I do like to follow characters though a series normally so I will move onto soul music next, but I don’t have the book yet. I need to get on that! Thank you for this review, Mouse! I give your review an 4.795 out of 5.

Death is awesome! Yay, I'm glad you found a way of reading the books that works for you; I hope you enjoy Soul Music when you get it, it's one of my favourites of the early ones (or at least it was the first time round). And thank you for the review of my review! :)

    Just finished listenin to this
I dont really like the wizards plot, Windel and the fresh start club i like but even Windels plot bleeds into the other wizards plot
Deaths plot was the highlight and i wish we got more of him as Bill Door and less of the snow globes and trolly car stuff

Hi, Mouse. When Death is outa work he really has to reconsider his routines & habits. Meeting the living, who don't follow him anymore, might be confusing. Also - doing something (in terms of "work") should be an experience for Death.
Great writing can overwhelm the reader, maybe like the ride on a rollercoaster (you don't dare to breath, but you have to). The mind is delighted by a new countryside of words/thoughts/ideas.
So I might guess, that a book only about Death & arable farming would have been a 4.9 for you? 🙂

This book ruined the wizards for me. I ended up despising that they took so much time away from the plot about death, and their entire thing had no impact on the death plotline at all. It might be my least favorite in the series because of that.
