    One advantage this bike has is that it is very comfortable on the disastrous UK roads, which pretty much essentially ARE off roads = the numerous pot holes and imperfections on the roads, it takes them easy and you don't feel them as you would on any road bike

    Watching you ride in the grass. Great. No show n tell for the small but seemingly convenient cargo box. No mention of how it performs on the highway. Can it maintain speed at 70mph or higher? Is it stable at a higher speed? Didn't learn much here.

    What Nick did not mention but was also seen in his video: the tubes running across the screen totally block the view, if you want to know how fast you are going you have to use one hand to sway off the tubes...totally unsafe in my view !
    I just go my brand new CRF 300 LS some weeks ago in Germany; the tubes running in front of the screen are really quite annoying ...even the salesperson was laughing about it but did not dare to touch it for warranty reasons...since then I am fighting with HONDA but they say it is "normal" and could not be changed...not HONDA quality as I expected

    This is by far the lightest and torquiest bike you can find. You have to break in the engine to know the full potential. It gets 70 miles per gallon. It's a great bike. My only observation which is a relative truth, based on other bikes I ride, it's balance confidence in terrain is not to my liking compared to others. That doesn't really mean much as its all about the rider, but it was my observational complaint. However, the ability to reach 70mph is important in real world conditions and the torque in lower gears is great for off road.

  • @Corbrwl

    This is the best review I've seen of this bike that goes over all the features and functionality, well done! I'm trying to decide between this and the XR150L. Want a bike primarily for riding ranch acreage and trails, and puttering around my large neighborhood, and occasionally leaving for rides on adjacent 65mph national park roads. My concern with the CRF300LS is that it's going to less nimble than the 150L. But I think it's more capable for leaving the hood on the higher mph roads, so I'm kind of stuck in between the two trying to choose. I'm an experienced touring cruiser rider with this being my first dual-sport purchase. Would appreciate any advice, thanks.

      If you’re an experienced rider go 300L! The 150 will leave you wanting more. Better suspension/ better gearing for higher speeds as well. Fuel injection makes a huge difference as well between the two

    How about the suspension? The biggest complain about the CRF300 series is the too soft suspensions . Has Honda changed the suspension on this lowered model or made it stiffer?

    • @spring9603
      @spring9603 Год назад +5

      It's too soft for tough Enduro riding but for the normal rider with casual dirt roads and single tracks (which makes up probably 90% of the buyers) it's perfect. Unless you're an aggressive rider using your bike for jumps and high speed offroad, it would be a mistake to change the suspension.
      Always ask yourself what type of rider is reviewing a certain bike. His needs might not be the same as yours and his setup might not be the same you need.

    • @user-iw8tz9zf9k
      @user-iw8tz9zf9k Год назад +1

      @@spring9603 The reason why I asked this question is CRF 300's springs are too soft but as you said this doesn't affect too much because there is a decent suspension travel. But Honda lowered this LS models from suspensions; that means suspension travel decreased. If Honda didn't make LS models' springs more stiffer, it will bottom out easly. That's what I was wondering about. I would like to buy this LS model because I need a lower seat bike.

    • @jrocks1971
      @jrocks1971 10 месяцев назад +1

      The lowered the suspension travel in the front by almost an inch and in the back by 1.2" -- and thinned out the seat, apparently -- so this bike is a hair less offroad-capable in terms of suspension than the 300L, with stock suspension. If you hit the trails hard, just upgrade the suspension -- you're good, as long as you're in the proper weight range for this rig. Huge dudes shouldn't be riding one of these.

    2024 KLX300 is more bike and features for the $. There’s a $400 rebate which puts it closer to the Honda. Honda suspension needs fixed out of the box. Kawi’s is fine for off road and is adjustable. The Honda’s brake hoses are downright dumb.
