The gravedigger is one of the most respectful characters I’ve ever seen in any game giving remembrance to even villains.
Even going so far as to frame how they lived in a positive light, because “we are all united in death”… truly a monumental NPC if ever there was one.

Not only giving respect to villains, but how encourages you to get stronger. This man literally said he wants you to get stronger so he can rest in piece. He won't lay down and die though you have to earn it as a warrior worthy of his great soul.
I like how after every battle, they do a proper funeral. Small, but proper.

you can really see sometimes when Gellot has to take more than 1 attempt at a boss and how his strategies evolve. Like during Betty, instead of drawing his bow when she caused the avalanche, he got ready to dodge, showing he had tried that before and gotten hit during it in an earlier attempt
Just proves that it takes some time to learn the game thorough and through. Its like going for a speed run, once you mastered a set path you go for it and try to succeed on an attempt.
Its hard and would waste some time of your life, but man you'd feel so accomplished on how far you went for it.

Throw a fireball into the urn whilst the witch is in it for a neat trophy and a bigger damage window.
You can also throw a bomb into the frogs mouth as he’s trying to suck you in when he tilts the platform
You get 2 steam achievements for doing those
Crow tip: you can use the bomb ability on the frog king when he opens his mouth during his attack where he tilts the arena. This will cause him to be stunned for a moment, allowing for massive damage
Crow tip: when the Last Lord is using his laser attack, try to roll through it ASAP. This will cause the attack to be cancelled as if you were hit by it, and the Lord will come back down and the charging doors will stop
You can also hug the desk with the soul vault, the chargers cant hit you.
Crow tip: shooting the urn witch in pot form with a fireball directly inside the pot when it spins around will cause her to take a moment to put herself out
This game is like Bosses don't need health bars,just feel the enemies life force.
That's what the crackles on their bodies are for, shows how loose their soul is in their body

Wow. The Lord of Door's Doormain is quite cool. Gellot's sure got the key to beating these bosses, though it certainly would've taken a long time, just locking for the way to get a knock of damage. Probably involved lots of deaths, but when one door closes another one opens.
With all these puns you could say I'm unhinged.
So..after all this time...Death's Door..and Titan Souls are connected! Holy smokes!
It was oddly nice, getting to kill Steadhone. They've wanted this from the very start, lonely and miserable, and with their work done they're finally given the rest they so dearly wanted

A pity the Gravedigger couldn't give himself a proper funeral or at least ask us to do it for him, but maybe his story is written on his tombstone, if an interaction is possible.
Honestly, the Lord of Doors is understandable, trying to get wisdom to keep Death away if your whole life circles around your known day of death.
I think this is one of the few, or perhaps even first game in which's true ending you don't get the most difficult boss in the game, but are shared whole truth of how all began what happens now. Usually, it's given in the game's main part.
Hey Gellot, can you actually kill the Lord of Doors before he reaches The Last Lord arena?
Also, the Grave Keeper is a secret boss, how do you encounter him?
1. It's probably scripted so you won't be able to kill him no matter what.
2. For the secret boss, you need to find Mysterious Locket somewhere in the mountains and bring it to the Grave Digger.
I once did enough damage that the lord of doors skipped phases, instead of reaching the door during the phase he just teleported where he was
Betty was such a pain for me to fight, but aside from that, I had a great time with this game. Heck, the best surprises come after the credits roll, in my eyes anyways.

Who actually is the Grave Digger, I wonder... I thought it was weird he has access to the central hub and crows (apart from the Last Lord) should be the only ones who can access it. What did he do with the Last Lord's corpse in the end, did he bury it somewhere? Also, in the true ending, his tears were made of the same pink goo that powers the door technology... So many questions, lol. I feel there's more to it!
I get the feeling he's been dead for a while but not really been able to 'move on' - it would explain why our Crow can't kill him. When we show him the locket it gives him closure and allows him to finally die.

The pink thing is soul. The doors are powered by soul energy.
When the grave digger buried his friend, his soul literally split in two, that's why he can't be reaped, and why he remained sane and didn't turn demonic after so many centuries.
As soon as you bring the locket, his soul is whole again, but turns demonic instantly, as all things that lived longer have.
He is literally crying his soul out. Damn.
