The pan vs sword duel was pretty awesome. The rest of the bosses are fine too, but there's one thing about combat that really annoys me. Once you start controlling two characters in boss fights, it gets harder to avoid being hit, since enemies can hurt the character that follows you.

This is the strongest pan I’ve seen in my life.

The Isabel fight is so goddamn intense. Like there is something just terrifying about someone so irrational, so desperate in love standing in your way.
Her army of clone girlfriends in the background certainly contributes to the crazy factor happening.
I haven't felt that amount of intense energy in a boss fight since the final 2 Agent Black fights in Iconoclasts.

Finished the game today. Eastward was easily the best indie game I played this year. And I hope there might be room for a sequel.

I don't think it's anywhere near the best but I still found it a delightful if not kinda flawed must play game.

Holy shit, how come no one's talking about this game!? Probably the most gorgeous looking pixel art game I've ever seen. The animations, the lighting, the sfx, the music; it's all so grand! Yet, I hardly hear anyone mentioning this game at all. What's the deal?
It came out 3 months ago, that's the deal.
It also isn't that great plotwise and suffers from padding.
@@lobosalt6868 The reason the dialogue is in there is because it's meant to be enjoyed not rushed through. There's very few games out there that provide this high caliber of an experience.
@@brettpardue8786 I love this game to bits but the dialogue still seems over written, and the story/characters could’ve been better fleshed out. Still 9/10 though, I have high expectations for the sequel.
@@ivy4360 Yeah, I hope it gets a sequel eventually too and hopefully it will be as good as the first. This is probably the most dialogue heavy game I've ever played and wasn't really that much into pixel art games before this but I was just so invested in the characters and thought they had so much personality that I never really minded the reading and always wanted to find out what happened next.

Yeah the monkey train was my favorite design. It feels both organic and inorganic at the same time.

The animation is very nice, I love games with detailed animation and care about it a bit more than the gameplay.
Btw, will you feature Unsighted? I played the game's demo and I think it's also a nice game with the parry mechanic.
I'm planning to try it whenever I have some free time.
I got stuck and quit playing but I was blown away. It's even more retro than Eastward.
I was amazed when third boss got hurt by its own bombs...

This game was on my to-do list for years and I don't know when I will finally check it out. Might take a few more years.

With no context this game seems based off a homeless guy's drug-fueled hallucinations one night.
I think it's all real and Solomon and the other version of Sam we're just saying that it was an illusion to get in John and Sam's head to create doubt so they think that they have no power.
Solomon is very intriguin as a train!! ooo he might/might’ve been my 2nd most favorite boss then again who knows ;)

32.5 hours beaten the game, quite fun, there is a game inside the game too, good to try, but the story ...... seem missing something, just not completed to me.
Did you play through earth bound again after beating it once? There is more in the NG+

The ending ruined the game IMO (too dark; they should have gone back to New Dam City together), but yeah this game had amazing gameplay, art, characters, and the bosses were very creative. A robot hulk in a dark hallway, Isabel was very difficult to fight (so was the Miasma monster and Solomon 1).
Solomon 2 is such a silly villain (in a good way); he's comic relief. The battle is so silly, an evil monkey train with banana bombs, but there's something so satisfying about hitting a train with a frying pan

What a huge disappointment. This game had all the right pieces to be an instant classic, a real shame it took the barebones gameplay + awfully annoying writing route.

bosses feels more zelda than all botw content ( i like botw but it never felt like a zelda game )

The story of this game is deeply disappointing. I hope someone finds some lore that redeems this... mess.
