The designs, the art, the gore, the 8-bit aesthetic. It feels like if Abobo's Big Adventure had the seriousness and Eldritch horror of The Binding of Isaac while also being like Castlevania
All while taking the open world concept of Simon's Quest and refining it.

It's kinda telling that the fake final boss appears to be fighting rather half-assed for final boss standards, which hints that it ain't the true final boss. The fact that it's Belphegor, the demon that represents Sloth, makes it even more fitting.

On one hand, the art harkens back to retro genre but the way it showed off it's gore and nightmarish monster designs is just stunning.
The spritework kinda reminds me of Project Warlock with how clean it looks.

I played this game at Pax South, the people at that booth (devs) were really cool and because it was the last day and everything was coming to a close, After I beat the demo they gave me a painting that was hung up above the tv they seemed to just let folks draw on if they manage to beat it

In love with the sound effects of this game. Nailed that NES feel
I've seen some overly gruesome grotesque retro indie games like A Robot Named Fight and Super Cyborg. But after seeing Infernax? It's definitely over the top. I really like each one of the freaky cutscene and i do wish some of the bosses' in-game sprites were more extra accurate to them, like the color scheme.
Also that censorship on final boss totally came out of nowhere and it made me laugh there
I was caught by surprise thinking to myself "no! They didn't did they!"
I had a blast with this game...got all the endings, my only issue with the game as a whole was the fact that most of the bosses were incredibly easy compared to the rest of the game.
Yeah, I'm a little less than halfway through the video but I was thinking these bosses look pretty easy

I actually like to think that Necro (the necromancer zombie in the barn) is based off Bob the Necromancer from Berzerk's earlier game Zombidle, who is an undead necromancer with a zombie army that starts the game out by attacking barns and farmhouses.
I'm having a feeling this game's having a whole Nightmare fuel page on TV Tropes!

I can’t believe how awesome this game is. I randomly picked it up at a retro game store and am blown away with how good it is.
Werewolf fight was definetly TAS`ed, there is no way for a human to make such perfect inputs.

I have never played this game but one thing I have noticed about the Alastor boss fight if I had made this game is the stone walk ways would get smaller and smaller the further the player go into this monster lair...would have been a bit more of a challenge huh and you would have a certain amount of time to beat him before you fall into the acid water below or get eaten by the monster itself
For some reason, the first boss reminds me of Gergoth from Castlevania, what with its open stomach and fire breath

I would also like to know. After play through, I maxed all the stats and had 20k Gold .I'll admit at one point I only picked up coins when they were kind of in the way, but +90k is weird
