I’m considering going there to watch the annular solar eclipse this October 14. I saw that the path is going to pass almost directly over the Four Corners Monument. My second option is Monument Valley.
I watched the eclipse from a McDonald's parking lot in Kayenta, AZ, until annularity was lost. Nearly 2 hours later I made it to the Corners. I put my feet in UT & AZ (the 2 states I had just toured) & my hands in CO & NM, 2 states where I had not previously been.

I was in four corners on oct 7th and personally is not the biggest thing, plus $8 per person plus restroom 🚽 are not the best odor that is my opinion, good luck 🍀 visiting the place 😊
The marker is around 1,800 ft. east of where it was actually intended. -- A basic tenet of boundary surveying is that once a monument has been established and accepted by the parties involved (in the case of the Four Corners monument, the parties were the four territories and the U.S. Congress), the location of the physical monument is the ultimate authority in delineating a boundary. So it became, and still is, the exact legal boundary marker. Previous technical geodetic details are absolutely moot. All four state boundaries lead directly to it. So yes, you got to be in four states at once for real.
The Four Corners ii Experienced were/was a gravel pebble parking lot. A rope dividing line. Two indians ready to take your $15 to take pics with horses.; One step stairs to stage 12' ish X12'ish with the Four Corners marker on top.; 6 green outdoor toilets near by. 1996. Does Anyone have any video footage from this time period?

Talking about RRuining/ F - up a Historic area. When ii was there in the summer of 1996. A clear blue sky day. All there was was outside county around a few steps up to the marker of four state lines meet. Of which was l0'X10' feet square. A few out houses. THE BETTER Visit ii had was visiting with Two First Nation yellow thick skinned Indians near by. ii believe they charged $2.50 to be in a picture with 'em.
