Nick has been making contemporary music for 40years, a legend in Australia. Kylie Minogue is a pop princess huge in Australia and UK and despite her teeny beginning has matured into an awesome artist who reinvents herself over and over!
Every time I watch the video for this song, I’m struck anew by how stunningly gorgeous Kylie was at this point. And I’ve seen this video hundreds of times since it came out.
Still one of the most unique albums ever. Murder is just the "unifying" theme, but through different perspectives of love, hate, loss, revenge, psychopathy, deceit, plot twists, and still a whole lot of humor.
Nick Cave's character in the video was a poet and a rock collector that simply wanted to show his new rock to her. He didn't mean for it to end that way.
It’s a murder ballad. He killed her because he knew “all beauty must die”. The ghost of Eliza Day is telling her side of the story, the murderer is telling his. Remember; “They CALLED me the Wild Rose, but my name WAS Eliza Day”.
Cave was inspired to write "Where the Wild Roses Grow" after listening to the traditional song, "Down in the Willow Garden", a tale of a man courting a woman and killing her while they are out toget her.
This song is about her getting murdered. It’s the epitome of what they say is Hauntingly Beautiful. Do some of the latest Kylie Minogue (pronounced Min- oagh) songs she’s brought back classic disco.
This is a million miles away from my favourite Nick Cave tracks.. but it's still Nick Cave.. thanks mate.. please checkout some more.. I'd suggest "no pussy blues" by grinderman live on later.. (yes it's Nick Cave.. plus Warren ) also kitchenette done in the RAK sessions, stagger Lee and the ship song.. that's just a toe in the water of Nick.. thanks muchly man.. keep exploring Dark and different sonic worlds. ,🤘
You got her name a little wrong, but if you don't really know the artist, it's no biggie. I've heard people pronounce Cher as Chair. LOL. Her surname is Minnow (like the fish) with a G at the end. So Minnowg.
These reactors should avoid this sort of music ...they're never going to get it. It hasn't been written and authorises by Sony, it's been written by the actual artists who are mike's ahead if the sheep who release music these days.
OMG!! YOU WILL LOVE THIS PLAYLIST!!

If Nick Cave was the only singer in the world, you wouldn't hear me complaining!
It helps to know this album is a collection of murder ballads. I also love another duet on this called "Henry Lee."
Kylie is singing the part of the ghost of a girl who haunts the bank of the river. Locals refer to the ghost as the Wild Rose.
