I think it’s a mixed bag, on the one hand, seeing mechagodzilla in the big screen done by an American studio is a dream come true for us fans and we would love it and eat it up. Though on the other hand, I have to say that mechagodzilla just doesn’t fit in the monsterverse, as a giant futuristic mecha doesn’t fit in a world where monsters are ancient mythical god like beings; Not to mention, it would be curious to see how general audiences react to mechagodzilla. I feel like Mike Dougherty went too far with the tone and the fantastical elements of kotm that it literally destroyed the groundedness of the previous monsterverse movies, as those movies did pretty well with critics and audiences, as well as the box office. I do think putting mechaG in GvK isn’t the smartest move and as much as I don’t want mechagodzilla in The monsterverse, I’m willing to give them a chance to see how it plays out.
Although I disagree with KotM destroying the realism of the universe, the film missed the mark tonally. Wingard has promised a return to a 54 style tone making Mechagodzilla that much more out of place.
We've seen Mechagodzilla in Ready Player One. That movie was made by Warner Bros. It was to let people know about Mechagodzilla for when GvK comes out. KOTM made the Monsterverse into the Showa area. With Aliens and Mothra Spirit Dust that goes inside of Godzilla. If KOTM can do that, I think building a giant robot is ok. They've already built the Argo and that thing is massive. And the underwater base with giant laser cannons.
Dman1954: "Well it's a good thing that the writers of this movie were smart enough to not have Godzilla and Kong have to team up to beat Mechagodzilla. Ain't that right Adam Wingard?" Adam Wingard: "...Uh..."
I just wished they had kept the monsterverse more grounded... Don't get me wrong I'm excited for MechaGodzilla but I don't think he will work but who knows.
So I guess introducing Ghidorah killed the grounded nature of the MonsterVerse ? No. I completely disagree with you. It needed it to go futuristic and mythical. Because you got Mothra, Rodan and Ghidorah. They aren't "grounded". They are mythical creatures of legends where the MonsterVerse made them Gods and Devils. Very lovecraftian.
@@lonewolfgamingplus379 I don't think Ghidorah, Mothra, or Rodan killed the grounded nature of the monsterverse. Making a giant robot that looks like Godzilla does tho
Honestly I have been telling my friends exactly what you said for a long time and I am a really big Godzilla fan. I love all the Monsters....yes even gabara but that's a different story. I did however love the fact Mecha Godzilla would be in the movie, yes I was thinking how would they build something exactly over Godzilla's height, but I think that if they can make him a little bit smaller it be ok but I think that if they get it right I might actually love it because I love Mecha Godzilla he's my Number 1 favorite kaiju. I just don't see why constructing something that is 300 something feet or even 400 feet made out of titanium or regular metal would need to be teamed up on like Godzilla can easily destroy it. so in my opinion and D man's opinion they should put him in a next movie after Godzilla Vs Kong. But again If they do good then I will love to see him in it. #TeamGodzilla #TeamKong
The rest of the Monsterverse is made up of mysteries and several other aspects is unknown to us with about the past, all that Monarch can do is just make theories unless proven to be factual or enough evidence is found to open the view of the possibility of the theory to be true.
I totally get your opinion. Introducing something too early on could kill the series (unless of course GvK is the last planned MonsterVerse film), but I think that if it's done right it could be good to include him. I think the main reason they might put him in the MV could be due to Toho's suggestion, that way we have American takes on the Toho Big Five (Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, Mechagodzilla, and Ghidorah). While some people felt like the Oxygen Destroyer in KOTM was clunky, I really liked having it included, given the fact that it was an experimental weapon that echoed the use of atomic bombs, where everyone (even Stenz) was uncomfortable with its use. We'll have to see what the future holds. Whatever happens, whoever is in it, I just hope Godzilla vs. Kong turns out good.
Most of the things in KOTM is half realistic and half fiction most of which are mostly realistic but also fictional and a giant stealth bomber like the Argo Jet is very possible to happen and most of the Monsters remains consistent yes Godzilla is running but it’s excusable because he got super charged. The technology with the Monsterverse is at least taking place five years with more funding and such where it’s all next gen just more grounded to our world.
"Or you can have Mechagodzilla in the Post Credits for Godzilla vs Kong." How wouldn't I agree with that? Tbh Mechagodzilla appearing this early probably wouldn't work out. He should be in the next movie in a few years Imo, But overall I think he'll Be Pretty good in the film. The Fact that it might Not work in the monsterverse personally makes me take that as a necessary Fact or Opinion too.
Yes, the Hollow Earth has already been established within the universe in the beginning so I don’t see why that’s seen as unrealistic and tone including consistency is completely different from each other I don’t see why people don’t get that but they haven’t went behind into the making of a movie behind the studio so really no one shouldn’t be throwing assumptions real quick.
There’s already a magma-based pteranodon, an alien three-headed dragon, a giant ape that somehow still looks like a gorilla despite evolution, and all the fauna ( rock turtles, plant crocodiles, flying lightning-shooting things, vine insects etc. ) on Skull Island, and then there’s the MUTOs. MechaGodzilla isn’t out of place.
I loved G14, but i also support fan service because the MV was never supposed to be realistic in the first place. Hell, i can give another example as to why fan service should not be viewed as a bad thing. Pacific Rim. Come on, how would it be possible in real life to build a Jaeger?? You would need lots of resources, funding from companies and corporations and the federal government, plus dont forget its possible effect on the economy.
That doesn’t make any sense, new fans came from that movie so they would obviously want mg in it, 2014 wasn’t that good but a good comeback for Godzilla.
I think it would funny if Godzilla and Kong are fighting and then this reveal of a massive Mechagodzilla happens but he falls apart before the battle even starts
Here's I would do it. As Godzilla and Kong are about to clash, MechaGodzilla came out of nowhere and roars. MechaGodzilla then starts approaching the two titans and then suddenly a familiar horn pierces through MechaGodzilla from behind which results in MechaGodzilla blowing up. As the smokes slowly clears a familiar silhouette starts to take a familiar shape. The camera then slowly pans towards the familiar silhouette which reveals *breaths* DESTOROYAH! Destoroyah then proceeds to kill both Godzilla and Kong.
This is my theory on how they are going to use Mechagodzilla. I believe that he will actually be on the good side of things, seeing that it is being created by Monarch. I think that after seeing Godzilla unable to fight Ghidorah after the oxygen destroyer, and that using a nuke almost caused him to explode, they are going to use Mechagodzilla as the solution. Whenever Godzilla is badly hurt and unable to fight, they will pilot Mechagodzilla until Godzilla can fight again, but Godzilla doesn't like mankind making it. The only problem with that theory though is the whole thing of them creating it in 1 year, that just isn't realistic
Actually there is an explanation for Ghidorah ability to create storms, he has A large amount of gold and copper In his scales and when he beats his massive wings it creates large amount of wind which then interacts with already existing earth weather and creates electrical hurricanes. Also this is official information given to us by WarnerBros.
I can understand Mecha Godzilla appearing in the monsterverse at some point, because he is part of the big 5 that's been in every Godzilla era and it'd be keeping in tradition, but just not in GvK. Let the two of them have their spotlight rematch without some sort of interruption. I honestly don't want Batman v Superman to play out.
The way I would do it, Godzilla can defeat in the very first fight, Mechagodzilla beats up Godzilla later, Godzilla and Kong are fighting, Mechagodzilla interrupts, they have a 3 WAY fight (no teaming) Mechagodzilla is defeated and then Godzilla and Kong can fight after. That’s pretty much the only way that can save the movie.
People can make all these arguments all day long as they like, but at the end of the day what truly matters all comes down to one simple question: do you _really_ give a shit? It's not that I don't understand some of these arguments nor do I disagree with them, but it should be reminded that movies make shit up all the time for the sake of entertainment, so it all comes down to this: are you someone who _really_ gives a crap and dwell on it for days on end, or are you someone like me who just doesn't have the time or energy to care just go and have fun with it without question?
Since this franchise is trying to be as realistic as possible I don’t think a Mechagodzilla would be realistic in the films day and age plus I doubt they have the technology to do it. The only way Mecha G would work is if they flash forward to future.
Personally, I already feel like most any sense of realism in the MonsterVerse has been thrown out the window. King of the Monsters, to me, was definitely an unrealistic jump forward from what we saw in 2014. I don't really care for many of the characters in KotM either, so at the moment crazy monster stuff is all I have to latch onto in this franchise. If they wanna get totally nuts, I say go for it, and hopefully the new characters can win me over in addition.
Yes. He's absolutely entitled to his opinion, but a lot of what he's saying feels like a reach to me. I'm not even saying he's right or wrong. I'm glad he feels the way he does. Just doesn't work that way for me, and even though I think that sense of realism is more or less gone, I still really liked KotM on the whole.
Ehhh, Im ok with the Monsterverse going over-the-top at this point. Whether or not KOTM breaks the reality "rules" is up to each fan. But if we're going to have a grounded, realistic approach, I would prefer it to be in the next Hollywood reboot where it starts with Godzilla as a villain. The only downside to MechaG is that it detracts from the Godzilla / Kong reunion.
I think mechagodzilla could work in theory, but not this soon, if we slowly phase in more advanced tech throughout the series and add him in a little later, or it could work as a sort of prototype that doesn’t actually get any action, or have him built as essentially a scarecrow designed to scare away other titans
Frankly I'm surprised nobody seems to discuss the line in the same snippet, same line, "as well as creating organic Titans in the past" which it claims even caused some events in the past. If anything there's more there than there is for any mech stuff. Nothing beyond speculation but it's worth considering. My personal speculation would be that Mechagodzilla would be a mix of organic and mechanical creation, sort of its own take on the cybernetic aspects that Kiryu and even the original Mechagodzilla had, but I have little to back the claim.
Like you said, I think Mecha G should just be a prototype vehicle to dig into the hollow earth beneath skull island that Kong would mistakenly think it was Godzilla. And then maybe they show the same Mecha G vehicle being upgraded to be more like the Mecha G we all know in the post credit scene for another movie to come
Did anyone else hate the way the Orca was used in KOTM? I was put off in the beginning of the movie when Mothra was basically mind-controlled into being in a good mood again by some man-made gadget. And how it was able to stop ghidora from using his beam attack. Um.... What?
It made perfect sense though. Mothra was pissed because they seemingly insulted her when she just woke up. Ghidorah also can't seem to use the Beams if he's disoriented.
The Monsterverse is grounded more so in reality, I never have seen why people are so rude when others state their opinions. It was really interesting seeing your points!
And another point which could be possible is Burning Godzilla. Heisei made him very powerful and he is a time bomb that could destroy the world and Legendary Godzilla was said to explode like an atom bomb. He leveled all of Boston.
Dude! I saw the fallout on twitter and while i can definitely say you and I have very different opinions on a lot of things, i cannot fathom why so many G-fans had a problem with your statements. Especially, after you posted THIS! This was brilliant! You set your baseline, formed your arguments and support well, rationalized and concluded your arguments and then presented alternate perspectives. You were respectful and the effort you put in was obvious. An extremely well crafted video essay. I can actually say, that after your video, i can see your problem with MechaG in the Monsterverse, and you have convinced me that it may not be a great idea with what we have in the films right now. YOU are RIGHT!! So, Haters gonna hate and I hope they come for me next! I will fight at your shoulder, D Man.
I have always felt they they need to expand to monsters that haven’t been seen in years, we have seen mechagodzilla, king ghidorah, Rodan, and Godzilla lots of times, it’s time we see monster such as baragon, varan, gorosaurus, titanosaurus, and evening gabara. We need monsters that haven’t seen in the spotlight in years.
My biggest question is *why* humans would make a Mechagodzilla. I don't see any benefit to it. In Showa it was made by aliens who actually tried to impersonate Godzilla with it, and if I remember correctly Mechagodzilla 3 was actually built around the corpse of a dead Godzilla (if it wasn't Kiryu I'm positive one of the MGs was like that). Even if Monarch or whatever other group could make a Kaiju-sized mech and wanted to, why make it shaped like Godzilla? What actually benefit does that provide? I guess making it look like him could scare other kaiju, but I think they would care more about whatever the mech's ORCA was doing than what it looked like.
@@Tenebrio-Morio You may be right. But I think I've seen official material refer to Heisei MG as #2 and Kiryu as #3. Plus the MG from Terror of Mechagodzilla is just the one from the previous movie rebuilt/repaired and not a whole new one yeah? I could be wrong, it's been a while since I've seen either Showa MG films.
Mecha godzilla is dumb as hell. KOTM really went in the fanservice-over-substance direction. I really want to be able to take these movies seriously as movies, and not just as godzilla movies.
@@SaurianStudios1207 A lot of the fan service & references was really great IMO, I just wish the writing wasn't so aggressively dumb. The story is only there to move the plot from one fanservice moment to the next.
Idk as someone who’s loved every Godzilla movie, it’s all about the monster dynamics and their fights tbh. They are trying to appeal to the fun aspects. Sure it was da service but the lore behind it is super unique and badass and original. I personally think king of the monsters was one of the most faithful yet unique Godzilla movies ever. I don’t give a fuck how mecha godzilla exists tbh, just as long as he is a worthy successor to the originals and looks good on screen. As much as you love certain movies more than others, you got to admit that what really matters is the end result of how it looks. Writing is certainly important. But who really cares that the oxygen destroyer wasn’t set up correctly when at the end of the day we have a beautiful American big budget Godzilla movie with all 4 original kaiju with great screen presence. I love film more than Godzilla but trying to make totally serious and dramatically serious Godzilla movies, it would fly over most everyone’s heads. They want to go the marvel route with cool monsters and stupid jokes and I respect them for that lmao
Good points, my man. It'd be nice if your critics/detractors could challenge your points without resorting to petty ad hominems. Seriously, guys. It's not hard. Anyway, nice video! Your content never disappoints, my friend.
I hear you D-Man. . I'm not mad at your case here bro. . not at all really. I'm not a fan of Mechagodzilla in GvK myself. . glad you came with this clarity brother. no doubt
sooo you're saying that a mechanized version of Godzilla isn't realistic in a universe where an ancient dinosaur breathes atomic energy, a three headed dragon from outer space that shoots lightening and can regenerate damage and lost heads but a mechanical monster isn't "plausible"? dude have you even seen what our tech can do? we practically make mechanical monsters every day just for fun what makes you think that a 300 foot tall robot isn't any different?
@@DarianTheDinosaur again coming from the guy who's trying to be annoying. if you don't like it when someone critiques some ones logic with their own then stop talking then. my point of view points out that the whole damn movie series was never grounded upon realism and mechagodzilla is the LITERAL most plausible Kaiju since he can be built by humans.
I don't want them to team up. The Giant Octopus in the first KK vs G served its purpose as a punching bag for Kong to show how powerful he is. If Mechagodzilla were to fill that gap in some way then it would be acceptable.
I wanna see how D-Man would introduce Gammera into The Monsterverse! Everything from the easter eggs, to the after credits, to the movies, EVERYTHING!!!
I agree with these points, I just don't want Mechagodzilla to be the next "big bad" that Godzilla and Kong would team up against. My mind is fixed on the fact that we have an oxygen destroyer detonated in the ocean and so the possibility of a Destoroyah setup - I know it's unlikely - is more exciting than anything at this point
I want to point out that V-22 Ospreys have been in production since 1988 (the first flight was in 1989), so it is perfectly reasonable for Monarch to have Ospreys in 1995 during the Kong comic.
I pretty much agree with you on mechagodzilla in the monster verse. I’ve always seen it less than logical never mind the thematic stuff you brought up. The idea that he’s some sort of titan mimic meant to trick of manipulate the titans rather than fight the, ALMOST sounds like it could work though hmmmm.
I think a smart way to play this would be to have its body discovered in the hollow earth to expand on that idea that there were beings trying to get to earth or they can do an end credit scene where it’s a time skip and the construction of mechagodzilla is nearly complete
Guys, they are pretty much reworking old school Godzilla movies. Kong was not a big thing in Godzilla series. Mechagodzilla was. I guaranteed after mechagodzilla might be mecha ghidorah. Pretty obvious. Just a change of HUMAN story but not the monsters. Stop hating and enjoy movie when it comes out lol
I just don’t find any excitement with Mechagodzilla tbh. I hate waiting all this time to see this major film crossover only for the main enemy to be a robotic godzilla 😒 Why not Destroyah? Something interesting
I am both excited and nervous about Mechagodzilla being in the Monsterverse. Adam Wingard better do him right. My guess is that Mechagodzilla has been in construction since the events of 2014. I wouldn't mind if Godzilla and Kong teamed up to fight Mecha G, and go back to fighting each other after taking him down. And remember when Dr. Stankton said about Godzilla "being on our side." and Dr Chen saying "For now.". Maybe Mechagodzilla could be what crosses the line, which causes Godzilla to turn on humanity.
@@DarianTheDinosaur what rules it still fits in with the theme of this series the arrogance of man it still works. I don't know why you people don't want this to work. Because it's not realistic news flash non of this is realistic
@@DarianTheDinosaur and it's still consistent with this universe. Besides regular audience don't care they like him. It still fits with the themes of mans arrogance. So what if it's a giant mech this was bound to happen anyway if Gareth Edwards was involved.

If your criticizing this series then you might as well bash the franchise in general and pacific rim and super sentai for doing the exact same thing. Let this realism crap go your making a huge fuss out of it. It still fits within the context of the monsterverse.
@@DarianTheDinosaur apex messed with the bones of ghidorah and used the radiation from the hollow earth to power up their Mechagodzilla. Only for ghidorah to take over. How does that not fit in this universe? Also Walter Simmons said they started creating Mechagodzilla after 2014 so a decade is plenty of time to make a giant robot. Plus it's a series about giant monsters it's not realistic. Besides it gives humanity a chance to rival the old gods. Remember what Dutch said in predator if it bleeds we can kill it. I like that mix things up in this universe. As long as it fits and look at that it worked if you don't like it then sorry not sorry.
If you think about it, what if MechaGodzilla isn't really going to be in the movie considering he didn't show up as one of the toy leaks? Just speculation but what if that toy called mega Godzilla is really teasing some kind of alteration that may occur with Godzilla in the movie and legendary is letting us think they were confirming MechaGodzilla to throw us off.
Mecha kaiju would work if they established aliens and alien tech first. It's too big of a leap to go from our normal tech to giant mechs in a grounded universe.
If they were to do a Mechagodzilla. I would kinda hope for something like Kiryu specifically, since he to me feels like a Mechagodzilla that already fits a little in the Monsterverse. Besides that, I feel Destoroyah would be the best possible Toho kaiju they could use for this movie. Especially with the oxygen destroyer being canon here.
I feel like it is to soon for mechaGodzilla aswell. They should have introduced destroyah before mechagodzilla and when they introduce mecha godzilla it would be cool if they did a mecha godzilla and mecha king ghidorah vs Godzilla, mothra, rodan and kong with a surprise appearance of Angurius
I can see mecha Godzilla working not if he’s a human made thing but if he has the origins of the showa series, that’s how I could see him working best.
Again, why build a Godzilla shape robot, to begin with? A Godzilla shape robot would offer no real benefit if you're going to build a giant robot to fight giant monsters you are NOT building a Godzilla shape robot instead you would build a typical humanoid robot because it's practical.
Yeah i know im THAT kind of fan, buf I genuinely don't care if the movie is good or not, if its Godzilla, im happy. I completely agree, mechagodzilla doesn't really fit, i just simply dont care. Im sure the critics will though, so we'll see how it plays out.
The only way I can see mechagodzilla working in the monsterverse is if it somehow crossed over with the world of Pacific Rim (and we all know that ain't gonna happen)
Y'know, instead of building a giant, 400 ft mech resembling Godzilla, they could've build a combative aircraft; like the Super-X from the Toho series. That idea itself isn't really too far-fetch if you think about it, considering you said the Monsterverse takes place in our earth but a few years more advanced. Not to mention a super-x is also more maneuverable with weapons specifically to take down giant monstrous animals.... only at some occasion to get destroyed by the Monster-King because why not lmao. Before someone say, "Michael Dougherty ruined the Monsterverse." I wouldn't say so, I would say he just went a little over-bored with some of the ideas that he always wanted to add in. You also have to consider the fact that Michael is ALSO a huge Godzilla fan; so you *could* say the film itself is a large fan-fic, about enormous powerful superanimals fighting each other while doing something cool, that became a reality lol.
While I HAVE grown to see MechaG could work if done one way and not work if done another way. Although, I do think people need to relax and realize that these are just your thoughts on how MechaG won’t work. They probably think you don’t have faith in an execution of MechaG working. In the end, we’ll just have to wait and see. People need to JUST RELAX. I’m also surprised people didn’t know ospreys exist. Off the topic but still kinda shocked
I think Mechagodzilla could work, IF they've been building him for a while, at minimum since 2014. Maybe he was a secret project that they were working on, alongside the Oxygen Destroyer, and since that weapon failed to kill Godzilla, they spend the year between KotM and GvK refining Mechagodzilla's weapon systems so that he would be the ultimate anti-Titan weapon.
@Dman I would like to chat with you, when did they stablish that a giant robot monster cant happen? If a three headed space dragon that shoots electricity can happen, why not a robot made with fossil? And another question, when did they say that Mechagodzilla was created after king of the monsters?
I think it would be cool to have walking cities that are 400 feet tall. That way we can have crazy fights and also an awesome area for the characters to live/explore
THANK YOU! Mecha-Godzilla shouldn't be in Godzilla vs. Kong, he deserves his entry and time to breathe. It would feel too sudden to introduce him, and let the only monsters fighting be Godzilla and Kong!
The only way I could see Mechagodzilla fitting in the Monsterverse is if Godzilla vs Kong was a lot farther into the future, like 30, 40, 50 years into the future.
It's just fan service to be honest. I rather see a new titan over Mecha-Godzilla and Destroyah. Besides how humanity is able to construct a 400 ft tall mechanical replica of Godzilla is beyond insane especially for this grounded world they are trying to portray in this universe.

"Or you can have Mechagodzilla in the Post Credits for Godzilla vs Kong."
How wouldn't I agree with that? Tbh Mechagodzilla appearing this early probably wouldn't work out. He should be in the next movie in a few years Imo, But overall I think he'll Be Pretty good in the film. The Fact that it might Not work in the monsterverse personally makes me take that as a necessary Fact or Opinion too.
Me: Grrr dman said mechagodzilla would ruin the movie
Dman explains the realism

@@ferrallezz5246 the hat looks ugly NGL

@@dmin5782 i think mechagodzilla feels to out of place when it comes to humans building a 150meter giant robot
I saw just the title and I’ve been saying the same thing.
People that want MechaGodzilla in the Monsterverse probably didn’t like Godzilla 2014.
Noah Stickley pacific rim came out in 2013 and it takes place in 2020, its still too short of time but it’s reasonable
That doesn’t make any sense, new fans came from that movie so they would obviously want mg in it, 2014 wasn’t that good but a good comeback for Godzilla.
@@Mariofredx HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! *inhale*----i got nothing. I tried to make a joke and i got nothing.
Hey man, us Godzilla 2014 haters have feelings too...
I was actually excited about him possibly being in the MonsterVerse, but you actually make a really good point. Keep on making good videos, friend!
You know who’d I want to see Monarch build? Jet Jaguar!
The only problem with that theory though is the whole thing of them creating it in 1 year, that just isn't realistic
the mecha godzilla could have started contruction before kotm.
or even before 2014
Thanks for another really cool video. I'm glad you speak your opinion
Yeah no. MechaGodzilla appearing that early isn't possible narratively.
Ah the irony of this video after 6 months
Preach it... yess... we understand.. who else think about it.. better then u... although we want all the monsters we love our Godzilla..
Me when his trailer review is out: you don’t seem to care he is in the movie buddy
Mecha Godzilla is already confirmed to be in Godzilla vs Kong.
Since this franchise is trying to be as realistic as possible I don’t think a Mechagodzilla would be realistic in the films day and age plus I doubt they have the technology to do it.
The only way Mecha G would work is if they flash forward to future.
"Realistic" Look at KOTM.
Did you not see AS POSSIBLE, I’m not saying its super realistic but it’s trying to be when bringing in new foes
i think anguirus should come back as a foe i think hes a good one to be in it
Believable not realistic. Just because KotM did it's own fantasy crap doesn't mean every MV movie has to be like that.
I agree with all the points you said, Little bud. We'll see what we get when we finally see the movie.
Yeah. It’s all in the execution
At 19:42 what you said about Mechagodzilla being a vehicle to explore the hollow earth was similar to my theory. Glad I’m not the only one
It scares me how many people think a teamup is a great idea
Personally, I already feel like most any sense of realism in the MonsterVerse has been thrown out the window. King of the Monsters, to me, was definitely an unrealistic jump forward from what we saw in 2014.
I don't really care for many of the characters in KotM either, so at the moment crazy monster stuff is all I have to latch onto in this franchise. If they wanna get totally nuts, I say go for it, and hopefully the new characters can win me over in addition.
Did u even watch the video and listen to what he has to say about that?
I have no idea what to think so I'm gonna reserve judgement until we see footage.
You are literally the best RUclipsr
Great vid. I hope it is good
Ehhh, Im ok with the Monsterverse going over-the-top at this point.
I stop watching after KOTM and I come back and this dude already rocking a full on mustache!
I’m calling it now. The second mechagodzilla is introduced is the second the General audience loses complete interests in these movies.
It's not like Marvel didn't suffer the same problem and still interested people. Grounded Iron Man and then mystical Thor.
Kiryu is not Mechagodzilla 3, both Mechagodzilla 1, and 2 were showa era, making Heisei 3, kiryu 4, and the anime version 5.
Great points, D-Man!
Mecha godzilla is dumb as hell.
KOTM really went in the fanservice-over-substance direction. I really want to be able to take these movies seriously as movies, and not just as godzilla movies.
I agree and lot of g fans want fan service and unoriginality so that they can be pleased lol
@@SaurianStudios1207
A lot of the fan service & references was really great IMO, I just wish the writing wasn't so aggressively dumb. The story is only there to move the plot from one fanservice moment to the next.
Jesse Galloway don’t get me wrong, some of it was good but some like the oxygen destroyer was so unnecessary and shoved in
@@SaurianStudios1207
Yeah the oxygen destroyer could have been better if it didn't just come out of nowhere.

@@DarianTheDinosaur of course someone had to use the most "original" comeback to defend his video.
Thank you dman anytime I'm home you post these gvk videos and they always hype me up and chills for may 2021

You mean Gamera
THANK YOU! I don’t want him to appear overall
I agree 100% with all your points.
Well Said, very thorough explanation!
I 100 percent agree with you for this whole video than other people
I want to point out that V-22 Ospreys have been in production since 1988 (the first flight was in 1989), so it is perfectly reasonable for Monarch to have Ospreys in 1995 during the Kong comic.
You wonderful bastard, i was thinking the same thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
D Man: *Explains in great details why realism matters in the MonsterVerse.*
Me, an intellectual: Haha, monsters go RAAAWR
Hes not hating, hes bringing up points as to how mechaG doesnt work in the MV, regardless i get what u mean
Update: Mechagodzilla worked boom son. #continuethemonsterverse

6:38 FINALLY! Someone points that out!
They are probably going to disguise him as Godzilla. That's the way the aliens did it in the first Godzilla versus Mechagodzilla

Unless it's American Godzilla movies
😆 exactly

A team up is predictable and lame. I want this movie to defy expectations and shock everyone.
Argo is the less combative MonsterVerse equivalent of the Super X lol
While I HAVE grown to see MechaG could work if done one way and not work if done another way. Although, I do think people need to relax and realize that these are just your thoughts on how MechaG won’t work. They probably think you don’t have faith in an execution of MechaG working. In the end, we’ll just have to wait and see. People need to JUST RELAX. I’m also surprised people didn’t know ospreys exist. Off the topic but still kinda shocked
people be complaining about Ghidorah being an alien like Aliens have zero possibility to exist.
People who dislike dint even watch the video
I think Mechagodzilla could work, IF they've been building him for a while, at minimum since 2014. Maybe he was a secret project that they were working on, alongside the Oxygen Destroyer, and since that weapon failed to kill Godzilla, they spend the year between KotM and GvK refining Mechagodzilla's weapon systems so that he would be the ultimate anti-Titan weapon.
Great vid keep it up
@Dman I would like to chat with you, when did they stablish that a giant robot monster cant happen? If a three headed space dragon that shoots electricity can happen, why not a robot made with fossil? And another question, when did they say that Mechagodzilla was created after king of the monsters?
If it was a shared universe with pacific rim then it would make sense. Mechagodzilla would be a jaeger.
I agree with you about putting Mechagodzilla in a post credit scene.
The only way I could see Mechagodzilla fitting in the Monsterverse is if Godzilla vs Kong was a lot farther into the future, like 30, 40, 50 years into the future.
