Just to be clear, I absolutely loved this promo image! Just because it doesn't get me as excited as it got everyone else doesn't mean I don't love it. I think it's a fantastic image. The visuals are beautiful and the monsters look great. I just have reservations about it due to the uncertainty surrounding its appearance in the film.
@@DMan1954 if the rest of playmates Godzilla toys are as low effort as our boy Kongo Chongo, I have more hope that... it... will look better in the movie than the toys make it out to be.
I think the reason Kong’s in such an awkward stance is cause he’s Ready to swing his right leg forward and launch off it briefly to make his punch stronger
I’m so glad we got our first official look at Godzilla vs Kong via concept images from the back of the GvK toy package! I know it’s not an actual frame from the movie, but this shot of Godzilla and Kong is epic! I hope we get scenes like this in the movie, shot in the day, shot clearly and focused on Godzilla and Kong fighting as oppose to cutting away from the fights and hopefully we see this scene play out and not judge it based on a three second blurry clip from last yr lol.
Kong looks like he walks on 4s. Like a actually gorilla. But I like how kong stood on 2s in the monsterverse. I think that's why it looks so odd on the box art Edit: I guess what I'm trying to say is the model looks more like an actual gorilla than Kong. Because that odd posture is the exact same posture a gorilla takes when fighting
Easy explanation. Just like all of the other Titans, Kong was exposed to radiation since he grew up on Skull Island. Kong's growth spurt was bigger than Godzilla's since he was probably exposed to even more radiation than Godzilla. Godzilla looks for radiation but Kong has always lived in it.
This could definitely be near land near SkullIsland I hope that the aircraft carrier is gonna break apart it does look like it is, hopefully GVK will definitely stick with being consistent that’s what I want as please stay consistent and make the execution and action for the Aircraft carrier scene to be awesome I really don’t want this to turn dumb that’ll suck if it does.
1:56 simple answer but it may be a spoiler so just keep in mind... The reason why Kong is so black in this figure’s presence is because he is indeed the hollow earth Kong that is supposed to appear in the hollow earth! The Godzilla 11” is also the hollow earth representation of him so it makes sense why they did it to Kong too but why you may ask! Well... the answer is I have no idea!
Don't let these people get you down so much Dman. You've got enough to be worried about with finishing school under covid 19 and trying to entertain us on top of that. Be strong and thanks for all the great content you give us.
I’m not suprized the in hand images don’t look good. Non of the other Godzilla figures look the best in hand. The image from the back of the boxes is cool. But I really don’t like them being on an aircraft carrier. And Kong’s pose is kinda weird. Makes him look like he should be On all fours instead of bipedal like he actually is. Not sure how I feel about the aircraft carrier. If they are just walking around on it and it doesn’t crumble under their weight it’s gonna feel weird. If it breaks under their weight after the first punch I will be fine with it.
You know, I've seen this argument so many times, and it still baffles me. Of all the things unrealistic about the franchise.... we're gonna get worked up over a context-less but AWESOME scene of these 2 fighting atop an aircraft carrier. Easy fix: the 2 of them standing atop it on opposite ends balance it out, thus meaning it only starts slowly sinking instead of immediately capsizing.
David Brown What Dman said however is somewhat concerning because if there not the going to be fighting on the aircraft carrier, then where will their first battle take place, not to mention this taking me back to figuring out how many fights are going to be in this Damn movie between Godzilla and Kong! I've been told there will be at least two battles between Godzilla and Kong, then someone comes along and tells me they're also be a third battle on Skull Island, and the RUclips channel Heavy Spoilers thinks that the Hong Kong battle will be the first and only battle in the movie and I don't think I'm okay with that, I don't want Godzilla and Kong to have a one battle deal so I'm taking what he says with a huge handful of salt. So in conclusion I hope Godzilla and Kong won't have a one battle because not only would that not be satisfying for me and others but I feel that it wouldn't really follow the film's title, I hope there will be at least two or battles between the Godzilla and Kong I don't care I really hope that does happen.
I don’t know why people hate the fact that Godzilla and Kong are fighting on an aircraft carrier! Sure, it’s unrealistic but I love it! The craziness/weirdness level is held up to showa Godzilla standards and I am a HUGE Showa Godzilla fan! If the aircraft carrier eventually breaks that’d be fine by me but if it doesn’t, this might be the funnest Godzilla/Kong scene I’ve seen in a long time!
the image looks painted to me, even the HD. Your beard looks like it just floats off your neck. Gormaru Island is also under the impression this is merch only image. I also don't think Godzilla is even standing on the carrier.
I really do think this might be just something for marketing since the guy who originally posted the image and got the Kong figure said that the box art looks more like concept art than anything so we may have a chance this may just only gonna be used for marketing since this already got out to the public and we probably just don’t know that Legendary changed that scene to be something else.
Great reporting as always man! The image got me kinda excited but I agree it's most likely just poster/figure box art. Kong does look very odd and a bit too big as well, the figures could be a bit better too.

So either that was art from someone who had seen this promo image, or the stance reflects the test footage movement of Kong -- footage deemed good enough to show on a sizzle reel with other forthcoming WB properties.
You're absolutely correct. No way is this a shot from the movie. One of the biggest questions is how big Kong sizes up against Godzilla. I might be wrong because the figures are out & have that image on the back. Yet, I think they're going to release another wave of the current figures closer to the movie release. I just think until the last moment they're going to adjust the size of Kong according to the reactions of fans & non fans to various stills or VERY quick clips. Even after the first teaser is out. I think the release date being pushed back because of COVID19 allows them to play with house money. Oh & I'm going to take a ridiculous leap & say there isn't a MechaGodzilla in the movie. It's MechaKong.
I don't really get your thinking when it comes to not believing this will be a scene from the movie.
