Our pleasure. They were fun places to visit. Higher end but still affordable. CM does have places that are 3-4 times as much, so there is a much higher end, but I don't think you get much more for your money.
@RetiredGlobalLife Joy & Randy . It's always Thank You from me 🙂🙏. Your videos are always so informative. Great for the people looking to visit Chiang Mai or someone looking to move there like me. Already looking forward to the next one . Thanks Again !! For all the hard work to share your experiences in Chiang Mai and Thailand with all of us . 😃👌
I really enjoyed the Terra Cota Arts Hotel when I was there. I don't remember having breakfast there. I always seem to fill up on street food at night and sleep in. I can't wait to get back to CM around Christmas.
Now I have to go back to Chiang Mai and test these hotels, especially the first one. Last time, I stayed in two really different hotels, one very modern - BED Chiang Mai Gate - with an excellent breakfast and just near the Chiang Mai gate night market, the second one, very beautiful hotel - Amata Lanna - all in teak wood. Both were good experience, but I love being just near a street food market, that's how I feel the most that I'm in Thailand.
I just checked out photos of Amata Lanna, thanks. Cool looking place. Not too central though but not everyone wants that. Thanks for the input! Take care.
I'll be there on the 17th for 3 weeks. Staying at a place that's still pretty unique but a fraction of the cost. 17 bucks a night and during the high season 19 bucks. SK House I, I believe in the northeast corner of Old Town. Can't wait!
Good for you. I don't think it is high on unique style but it has a rep for nice clean rooms, so I bet you will be very happy, and a great location. I hope you have a great time in CM. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
Last time I visited Chiang Mai I stayed in a real budget hotel. It suited me at the time and they did a good job, but I see I need to raise my game a bit! Thanks for the peak inside some great places! Next time I visit, I'll book one of these places!
Timely video as we are making plans for Chiang Mai for Songkran. My only visit to Chiang Mai was also for Chiang Mai in 2018 and stayed at a Airbnb on Ninman. We're are looking for a boutique experience in the old city.
@@RetiredGlobalLife In 2018 I couldn't see the mountains, nor valley from temple on the hill. 😀 Been to other parts in Thailand during Songkran, nothing as pure as how they do it in Chiang Mai. We'll probably hang till Monday and hit up Pai. We got two months.
The first hotel is absolutely gorgeous! The Vegan hotel is really cool and great price. Love that's it's health focused. Third hotel is pretty too, especially outdoor area. I'm kinda leaning towards visiting the Vegan one! ❤
You may see us one day if you are eating at Away as we drop in there sometimes. And yes, the Phor Liang Meun is super cool. I love the look of the place. Both hotels are a great place to stay.
Hi Randy and Joy,great selection. Chiang mai has the best and most unique hotels in Thailand. You could do dozens of videos about them. Here is one you might like: Khum Phaya Resort & Spa, Centara Boutique Collection, check it out, near Central Festival and BigC
I checked it out upon your recommendation! Great looking place. For the video we just wanted real central places for first time visitors. But it's a cool looking place.
Bec you are so kind to say that. Thanks! Enjoy Chiang Mai. We may see you walking around. People say hi to us from all over the world. A very international city and they all seem to watch RUclips!
How do you pick which area to living in (to rent or buy)? If in Bangkok, lots of people stay near BTS near Asok, Ekkimei, Thonglor, Silom…. What about Chiangmai? Do you choose to live near Luxury hotels? Thanks guys!
In Bangkok, living near a transportation hub is critical for time and cost if you have a job or are a student, otherwise you could just live where you like to be. In Chiang Mai, it is not so huge, so you could live in one area, and work in another area, and we have traffic at peak times, but not as bad as Bangkok. I think most people visit and get a feel for the communities. The newest large group of suburban homes are in the Hang Dong area but you have to get in your car or on your motorcycle to go anywhere. For those who want to walk outside their condo/apartment and eat and shop and do things, they might choose the Nimman area, or one of the more urban areas.
Thanks, Maggie. Joy and I loved the place we stayed in Bangkok a couple months. Ideal if you like older places with character, and in the old city there so less traffic and right by the biggest temple and Royal Palace. It's called Chakrabongse Villas. Get back to us if you go there and let us know what you think.

Very nice!! I feel relaxed just watching!!!
Ah Jeanne, you are too nice! Thanks for the comment. I can just see you by one of those pools...
good job - nice to see the nicer end of accommodation...

Nice video, the hotels look excelent!
Thanks. We enjoyed hanging out at them for the videos, and two of them we knew from eating there before.
Another great video guys 😃👍
Happy too see some options for the smaller very nice hotels.
Brian, you win our thanks for being the first comment! Way to go! Yes, the smaller hotels are the best. See you soon.

Yes, a beautiful, artsy place. Christmas and December is a perfect time to come with the coolest weather.
