From behind the wheel of her truck, this unlikely young livestock carter is committed to keeping Australia's beef industry moving.
For nearly a decade, female truckie Claire Strasburg has travelled up and down the highways of eastern Queensland behind the wheel of her truck, carting cattle from saleyards and station paddocks to meatworks near Brisbane. "It's a brilliant job," Claire says. "I wouldn't change it for the world".

I'm in the U.S.A. and you don't see very many females doing the line of work you are doing. You really tor up your truck there didn't you? I drove livestock for her grandfather back in the mid 1980's. she was just a little girl then.

Amazing to see Female Drivers, in a Male Dominated industry, the need and call for Truckies IN Australia is greater then anything. We do need to see more Woman behind the wheel, to if set the Male Balance, however, as she said, You need to have a passion and love for the job, as the Neigbour next would say, a Truckie for 40 years, and he retired, you need to have a love of driving, open road, and the passion. I hope that she has a long and prosperous journey, she loves her job and that's clear, never give up regardless of the issues ahead. I'm really proud of her.

@Bold Deere Cant blame it on smoking. It may not have helped but the issues where already there. It was amplified by smoking. My parents have been smoking since before their parents were a that shine in their grandfathers eye. They do not have health issues and still continue to smoke till this day. In fact, the doctor advises them to do not stop smoking to keep their health.
Sounds about right also smoker's get way less cold and flu's due to most virus's dying in the lung's in the tar trap.

I drove out into the Yukon from Alaska every week with fuel, definitely put a tape on an idiot light or two. Not having much daylight for part of the year made me want to keep my dash as dim as possible.

I like how they didn't highjack the vid with overemphasis on the difference between woman and men in a men dominated role and all that.this vid was a perfect portrayal of what it's like and what to expect. I just got my MC and I've got a lifetime of learning that's only just begun. That's a huge crash to walk away from and learn from and get back in the truck too, respect. Eating healthy and always getting a good night's sleep will be challenge. This sort of trucking is not a job, it's a lifestyle. It is rather family incompatible and would inevitably not be suitable for anyone trying to physically commit themselves to raising a family. I solute Claire and here passion for trucking but perhaps its time to do away with the cigies.....

Can you please leave her alone i believe most of you people comment about her smoke have something worse to your health than her smoke. If she feel good about smoke and driving good for her, she did a good job, we all know no one live for ever. We live in this world full of bad thing around us, but i believe the most important things in life to be happy and do what is right for you when you are alive. We know the Dr told us some food not good for your health but is up to you what you gonna do. That anyone business but this lady do a fantastic job that a lot of people unable to do, that is the things we should talked about.

Probably doesn't help that she has emphysema and probably lung cancer from all the cigarettes she's been smoking. She seems to be short of breath and speaking way faster than normal to get her sentences finished between breaths.
