i watched this 4 days ago, have been riding motorbikes for 30yrs and can pop a wheelie on them but struggled with the mtb after watching this and maybe an hours practice over 3 days today i did a 10 revolution approximately holding balance point i felt it weightless but steady was brilliant ,looking forward to keeping improving :)
32 front sprocket and 16 rear is what I use for wheelies giving a nice 2:1 ratio. Wide bars help, locking out the rear shock if you can and running high quality brakes with good modulation are also key..
I remember when i was a teen being able to ride a wheelie all the way up my road and accelerate by shifting thru the gears while up, now im 36 and just getting back into biking, i can go like 50 feet, i also use to coast stoppies, now i go over the handlebars😂
I saw the title, and thought... "Another one..." All these wheelie videos with the same steps, same tips, etc. But I have a tip that none of them have which will accelerate your wheelie skills significantly: Whenever you are not doing a wheelie, ride your bike no-handed. Let go of the handlerbar, cross your arms in front of you or your fingers behind your back. This way you will force yourself to balance with your knees, hips & upper body, rather than by flinging your arms around. It will translate directly to doing wheelies.
I once landed on my back trying a wheelie. Luckily I wasnt going very fast but I had a little shock. Do you guys have any tips how to find out when to loop out or pull the brakes? For my reassurance did you guys also land on your back when learning the wheelie?
Do it on a cycle speedway track. When i was a kid, some of the guys could do lap upon lap upon lap. I'm in Australia but I believe the are plenty of clubs in the UK where they could do it.
I had a BMX bike growing up with 24 inch tires. I was the smallest kid in my class. I couldnt do a wheelie with such a gigantic bicycle I just rode over everything. When I got older I just never did wheelies even though I could finally do one.
Every year i watched movies like these one..... and still no idea what i do wrong... maybe its the bike or maybe i do not have enough power in hands /legs....
Watching a pro do a wheelie or any trick it seems so easy but do we really learn anything from these videos? Neil is just faking the assumed mistakes because he doesn't make mistakes with wheelies anymore. I have always thought a better learning tool would be to get riders of different level to try these things and correct the REAL mistakes they make.
I had a similar issue, but what helped was trying different combinations of things: seat up/down, different foot positions, different timings. My final combination which got me there was: seat in the middle of bottom and top position, left foot forward, push down with hands and left foot until its at the bototm position, and then pull up and pedal as hard as I can. Also, LOOK UP. Hope this helps!

Wheelie good info
🤦
Thanks Niel, great explanation.
Отличная обучалка, разобраны все детали и нюансы!
He makes it look so easy!
YES, maybe i do something wrong, sattle to low or something but i'm learning to wheelie for half a year and still can't hold myself in balance point

i have all of them and still cant hold a wheelie for more than 2 seconds
Very good tutorial! I recommend.
Thanks 🤘
its really good tutorial! thank you very much~

Great tip, will definitely help improve balance without using the steering!

Great tips, will try it soon, I think that is the best tuition on how to wheelie, well done and thanks.
Happy we could help 🥳
Thanks
It got pathched
When will be the presenter wheelie challenge happen, on an oval running track ? 🎉

What do you think is best, rear shock locked or not…?🤔
I have trouble doing a wheelie on the same exact bike your riding
every time I practice the wheelie I get lower back pain. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. what are your thoughts on this?
Not pulling up high enough to find the balance point?
Focus more on using the pedal stroke downwards to leverage the bike into the air, don’t use your arms as much, remember to shift your weight back
Train the muscles of your torso and don't forget the abdominal muscles.
Maybe the tip of your saddle is too high?
it was very easy

You're not alone, keep at it and you'll eventually get it! Practice makes perfect 🤘
Can't really say that your bike isn't suited for wheelies when Neil wheelies a 170mm freeride bike without an effort.
Have you tried doing wheelies on a road bike or beach cruiser tho? 😅 It's possible but hard

Very good point, we have a video of exactly that here! Can Any Idiot Wheelie? 👉 ruclips.net/video/fY3MsVO7urE/видео.html
I used to do this at 11-12. I stopped at 14, Now I'm 20 and my brain just won't let me do it anymore so I'm gonna figure this out again.
I've been practising. For ten years now, without ever really getting it...☹️

I fell sideways is there a way for this not to happen
I'm old and fat. I can't get that front wheel up. I was never able to wheelie on any of my dirt bikes, either. Not a good enough sense of balance.
I almost fell because I was doing it on concrete
How many "How to wheelie" videos are you going to make? You have at least 7 at this point.
They have like 10 videos on every topic
And I have watched them all and still cant do one😂
Again 😳
I thought you were dead😢. But I just found out it was a lie🎉
This skill is really dangerous. I strongly recommend wearing a fullface helmet and a big pillow on your butt to survive it.
Good call, better safe than sorry! 🤘
I would recommend full face for any type of trail or "aggressive" riding.
