Fun and good tutorial, I practicing the basic skill from your tutorial. I have no ideal about dream bike, I have a Giant ATX and practicing, interesting in BMX bike
Dream bike is old school BMX. CW Phaze 1, Hutch Pro Raider, Mongoose Supergoose - just about anything in the 44-16 camp. Currently building a 1985 Mongoose Californian because I had one in the early 1980s. Just waiting on the bars to arrive!
Watched lots of wheelie 'how to' vid's, been practicing over the last 2 yrs, your video make the best sense, wish I'd seen it earlier. Might have put me on the back wheel quicker. Thanks from Yorkshire Dales, Uk.😊
Stoked to hear you found this one helpful mate!! Thank you so much for sharing. Hope the weather is shaping up in UK for some beautiful rides. Cheers! -Mike
Practiced today and the seat and pedal positions were crucial for me. Need to dial in that gear. Used the finger over the break lever and it felt comfortable. Got further than ever previously. Will used the relax back in chair technique and report back.
RIght on!!! Love to hear about the progress & can't wait for the next report. The correct gear & cadence of pedaling can be tricky, but with patience & practice...you've got this!! Much love. -Mike
Could you please say a little more about how you’re breaking while keeping the wheelie up? Are you kind of dragging the rear break lightly the whole time and or just feathering it here and there? I’ve been practicing diligently for a couple of months but can’t find that sweet balance point. I’m either not getting the front wheel high enough or looping out when I grab a lot of break to set the wheel back down. Thanks for your video and help.
Sure thing!! This is honestly what I’ve struggled with the most, too. I’ve learned that keeping just a LITTLE drag on the brake at all times really helps, then using little taps to bring the front end down when necessary has been the key. The balance point will come pretty easily once you dial in your braking!
I really like yall's channel. I actually have my dream bike. I love my Fuji Reveal. gonna go practice these skills from the Bunny Hop to the Wheelie. :)
Well put together guys, keep up the great work, it's all about balance correct, everyhing in life revolves or is balance, if you dont have it, dont bother basically. If you have a blocked ear, that can throw your balance out believe it or not
so satisfied that you brought up the fact that chase's last name sounds like wheelie. all these skills videos are making it hard for me to pick what to work on! yet here i am saying i'd love to see your approach to faster cornering, especially in berms. my local pump track has a long berm with a bend the opposite direction in the middle that's eating all my speed -- throws me out and i don't know how to get back in for the second half. for a dream bike i mostly dream of picking out and buying all the components separately and building it up myself.
haha I always ask him if he calls his dad poppa willie...he doesn't find it as funny as I do. 😅 Right on!! Cornering is something we absolutely plan on covering - it's one of those skills that starts unlocking SO much.
Ustedes 2 son geniales. la segunda generacion del canal y definitivamente son mejores que el sujeto que lo inicio, gracias a él yo aprendí muchas cosas que practiqué.
Maybe a mid to late 80s Hutch Trickstar. Only got to ride one once and it was nice. Love the white and gold one they made. Currently have my original 88 haro master and a couple 87 schwinn predators and an 86 predator.
Another great tutorial Mike!! You guys are helpin' the Joy Riders get more joy, so many Kudos!! I just upgraded my 20+ year old Specialized XC Comp 26er to a Giant Stance 29er, so groovin' on that for bike action. Dream bike currently would be getting a Dirt Jumper like you guys are sporting for local Erie Pump Track, or maybe even a friendly BMX bike. Thanks again for spreadin' the JOY guys!!
Dude!! Thank you so much. That's our main goal & is so dang fulfilling reading comments of people having that aha moment & starting to execute on the skill!! Dude that new bike sounds sick!! A BMX bike is the move in my opinion - it's a more humbling platform but if you take it slow the skills you'll develop there translate to all bikes so well & quick.
@@JoyOfBike I think a BMX would be more "flickable" for mastering skills like hops, wheelies, manuals, jumps, etc and transfer the skills to the 29er. Hey, who doesn't want to expand their quiver, right!!
Great video! Plz make more, i never thought i could wheelie, will now learn how. Excellent tutorial, thx. Dream bike: Lunacycle X2.5 eMtb -J. Payson, AZ
It's better to stay seated when poppin up? Other videos say to lean over handle bars then lean straight back while pedaling, then sit down when popped up
Was I just not paying attention? It seems like you just told me to pick a good gear, pedal the bike, balance. If it’s that simple then why aren’t I wheelie-ing all the time on accident?
that's a good trick in most areas! i've noticed a lot of difference using it on skinnies and berms, and it's something i always point out to the kids in youth mountain biking lessons.

I have looked so so many tutorials but this one helped 90% more than any other one.
We like those odds!! Thanks for sharing.
Good stuff! Something that really improved my wheelie is, Keep looking ahead. Not down at your front wheel.
Yes!! This is solid advice.

Fantastic info.
My dream bike is the one I have below
"2021 Colour Plum, Specialized Status 160 Travel Mullet Enduro Mountain bike."
Thanks dude's.
The Trek Marlin with 29 inch wheels is my dream bicycle. I doughnut have one but saw someone do a wheelie video on one so I like it.
rad!!
I can but I can't even pedal when I'm up I'm soo weak 😢😢😢
What if you have to backpedal to rear brake? Is it still a bike you can wheelie on?
Another amazing tutorial ❤❤❤❤ amazing video..... Thanks a lot for the effort the three of you take sharing your knowledge and skills ❤
Ill practice everyday..😄
That's the way to be!

Crust Evasion Trail 140 be cause step thru frames are rad (and I have little legs)
Dream bike is Reeb SST coil chassis w/ 600 lb spring.
Should rear suspension be locked for praticing whellie? Or it doesn't matter?
I’d say ride it however feels comfortable to you in a regular setting!
so my bike is VERY heavy, does this make any difference?
My dream bike is a Trek Fuel Exe. I like the idea of having just a bit of assistance while still keeping it light and playful.
Specialized P3 or a Santa Cruz Jackal or an Inspired Hex.

Good teachers my dream bike is downhill mountain mtb
My dream bike is a Trek marlin 7
rad!!
Bros shoes match the bike. Stick detail right there.
Devil is in the details!! haha.
I want a trial bike
They're so much fun!!
HEY
In a way, these people are buying you, not just wheelies
As long as that means we have more homies to ride bikes with, I'm into it!

😂

Yeah, maybe you weren't paying attention because they covered a lot more than that and in a lot more detail than you're implying.
Don't act dumb.
Long hair bro only does one wheelie the entire video
Any tips to help teach kids? Say 10 year olds….
For wheelies specifically or just skills in general?
@@JoyOfBike Both I guess but wheelies too.
Why does it take 2 men to explain this? 😂😂😂😂
You're right...we should've had a third, thanks for the feedback!
@@JoyOfBike your right actually. One to adjust the seat, one to push the pedal and one to lift the bars 😂😂😂
2 different point of views and fun, entertaining conversations
