    I have atlas2. It's amazing for sample organising/randomising and pretty good for making initial beats but I don't find myself using it that much because it only stores a single sequence/pattern. When I'm working on a song with defined parts (verse, chorus etc), having to export a single pattern each time doesn't really fit my workflow (sometimes you need to tweak previous patterns to fit with your current one). I'd love to see the ability to store say 8 patterns (and ideally selectable via midi).
    What would also be great is if you (@Algonaut) added some AI around pattern selection from the browser - a "find similar" or the ability to punch in a basic kick+snare pattern (as per EZdrum) as the basis for a search. [Please and thank you]

    Great software. The possibility to swap kits, samples and sequences/lanes independently really is a workflow booster. Things I miss though:
    - with 8x8 pads the ability to sequence 64 lanes, not just 16 ;
    - enable lock/swap with 8x8 pads ;
    - multiple slots to hold different sequences
    - a search filter would be great to show only samples with certain names in the map.
    - Maybe for the far future include loops/slicing?

    Does Atlas not have a way to do "repeat" per step to do ratcheting? I was surprised to not see that as an option. I guess you could just change the specific lane to be 32 steps and manually add them. I can't imagine needing faster ratcheting than 32 steps.

    • @Algonaut
      @Algonaut  27 дней назад

      Yeah that's the way for now, adjust the step size and add them in. This also lets you fine tune the velocity too. A few people have asked for a faster way to do this though so I'll look at adding that. (it is pretty quick to change the step-size and drag the mouse though!)
      I thought no one would need faster than 32nd notes either but quite a few people messaged and asked for it. I've just released Atlas 2.5 officially which has 64th steps and 64th triplet steps.

    The sequencer took Atlas to another level. Is there midi out at all? I really would love to trigger external synth sounds with that poly rhythmic sequencer. Is there a way to store sequences? Can it be done by putting the exported midi files into a folder and accessing from the browser?

    • @mattweir8972

      Yes, in the Settings menu you can enable MIDI out to drive other drum machines or external gear. You can store sequences by hitting the Save button (top-right of Atlas) and selecting the Sequence icon at the top of the save panel. That will store it in your Browser as an Atlas Sequence file. (which has extra data like what kind of drum each channel is, polyrhythm, nudge etc). You can export to MIDI with the Export button (top-right of Sequencer) and load MIDI by drag dropping onto the Sequencer.

Instead of taking a full 16 cycles to come back in sync, it appear to sync up to step 1 again after only FOUR cycles. This seems like a bug, and I've sent a support request but haven't heard back yet. Anyone else had this problem?

    • @Algonaut
      @Algonaut  Год назад +1

      Hi, pretty sure we talked via email but just in case (and for anyone else reading). The polyrhythm in Atlas has a 'reset length' of 16 beats (4 bars). Once this length is hit all Sequence Channel playheads reset back to 0. This is great for some genres like Techno but I realise it's not really what you want for full on Prog or Ambient styles. I'm going to add a control on the UI for the 'Polyrhythm Reset Length' and make it able to be turned off completely. The hard work isn't really in that, it's in making sure all the MIDI export still works nicely etc.
