I absolutely love Ray Davis and I think Buffalo will too. He’s ultra motivated and ready to prove his value. Run Ray Run!! 🏈

Davis won’t be getting as much goaline as ppl think pne of Allen’s greatest weapons is his legs they won’t take that away in the redzone . Davis will be a serviceable player at best his pass blocking prowess is a plus but remember how good our line can be they won’t unseat cook for a few pass black reps especially if Brady wants to run his 1990 offense and throw quick release packages

Not sure how Cook yards after contact compared with other rb in league. That may be one part of what Davis can bring to the table.

@@stevemathes3136 So the question is if the Bills will use the 3rd best back in the league to help them win games, or if they will rest him up and let a lesser RB be the workhorse? That doesn't seem like much of a question. I wonder if the Bills will rest Josh Allen and let Trubisky be the QB workhorse...
Yeah, after saying it in my head, I'm still completely with @johnyaudes3062 , the question makes no sense.
The problem I see is that every year since I've been a Bills fan (going back to 1990), the fan base thinks every single RB the Bills draft will be the next incarnation of OJ Simpson. Even with Thurman Thomas was winning the MVP in 1991, I can still remember Bills fans yelling to bench Thomas and get Kenny Davis out on the field. I'm 95% confident that if Bills Mafia had podcasts in 1992, the title of at least one mid-season video would be, "Will Thurman Thomas Lose His Starting Job To Kenny Davis in 1992??"

I hope they don’t use him the way way we used Zach moss, short yrd reps are tough and bad for development if they are a majority of your reps. Davis seems to have a lot of the same skill set as cook and Johnson. If we use Davis the way we used Johnson last year things are going to be excellent. Cook still gets the most reps

I just think we used moss in a way that didn’t lead to success or building confidence, I just wanna see Davis get some of the early down reps as well to give him an opportunity to create when the defense isn’t sure it’s going to be a run attempt

I dont believe james cook will have as many carrys. I think he was well over worked. So they will cut him back so he stays fresh longer. And if ray davis impresses he will become a second favorite.

@@stevemathes3136 sorry didn't really finish my thought in the original comment. By what I've read on Davis, it wasn't exactly glowing in terms of his pass pro chops coming out, which I would assume would be very necessary for him to take a truly sizeable chunk out of Cook's workload from last year. That would enable David to seize that pivotal 3rd down role to carve out a niche right off the bat. I think that Cook's vertical explosiveness will keep him at least as the 1A, but I envision 15-18 touches a game for Cook, so Davis will probably get goal line work and maybe 5-10 touches a game when the dust settles.

@@stevemathes3136 I didn't even know him prior to them making the draft pick, so I'm just going off of the few scouting reports I read after we drafted him. Below was one of them quoted as an example. Seems like recognition was the main thread in these though, not physical ability. Cook is obviously and objectively bad at it, but that's why I mentioned it in the first place, because if Davis isn't good at it either, that naturally limits what snaps he could take in the first place.

Cook, loose hands and needs to hang onto the football better. I'm still not impressed with Cook, He had a few big games last year, thats it..plus he dropped some easy catches that would have been TD's. Cook is soft, can't block and isn't strong enough to rip off another yard when needed. IMO, Cook ain't the man.
