I listen to brother Dwayne‘s message many times and this one always cut like a knife to my heart. So many things I struggle with in the Advent movement. Victory seems to be so hard to achieve.
The key to victory over sin...powerful topic. The surrendering of the will is important in this experience. Victory over sin will not be given to anyone who doesn't want it. The lip service will not work. The heart must truly desire to be renewed. The Lord will work in us to will. He will help us to choose but He cannot choose for us. Once we say yes to Jesus the second important factor comes in.....FAITH. Without faith it is impossible to please God. The just shall live by faith. If we try to keep the law of ourselves we will fail and be discouraged. If there is anyone who can solve my sin problem and your sin problem it is Jesus our Saviour. He will work in us now to do according to His good pleasure. Because of our faith the Holy Spirit comes to our aid and give us strength to resist the devil. Our 0.001% in the experience of victory over sin is to purpose in our hearts to serve our loving Saviour in confessing and forsaking all sins then claim Christ righteousness and victory and it will be ours. We will live above sin because Jesus lives in us through the Holy Spirit and we give Him full control to do what our sinful carnal nature cannot do....keep the law. Let's meditate upon the covering of Christ. Let us claim it daily. For the sins we have committed even unknowingly our loving Saviour winks at us and covers it. If it were up to our righteousness we would not make it into heaven because we sin and don't even know it and sin will always be sin but on Christ's robe is no spot and He offers that to all who desire to begin a new life free from sin. Isaiah 57:15 KJV For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, *with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit,* to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
I was just thinking; this is a great lesson for those who are atheists. Many of them have this notion, " here are the reasons why I don't believe God exists...". You're questioning God in that time of your life reasoned like an atheist would. Mini people turn away from God over what you experienced. They turn from God over a loss in the family depression almost anything. They don't realize it is a step in our growth process.
Most people don't understand the purpose of this life. One particular purpose is to focus on everything we do in this life; and get something out of it. Most people focus on what they want and want more of it. For myself, most of the things in this life I have experienced I would rather not have. They don't bring me any kind of peace, Joy or fulfillment. I believe Philippians 4:6-9 conveys so much regarding this. Our purpose in this life is to glorify God. God's purpose for this life is to glorify Himself in His creation; which also glorifies His creation. Maranatha
I’m so sorry. I feel pain with you all needing a heart transplant. I will pray for those in the world tonight in your situation. Stay strong in the Lord. He knows what’s best for us and how to do it.
The key to victory over sin is realizing that you are not under the law (God's commandments). The power of sin is the law (commandments) and we already have the victory (1 Corinthians 15:56-57). We are not under the law (Galatians 3:24-25). God is no longer counting our sins against us (2 Corinthians 5:19). Our sins no longer separate us from God (Romans 8:35-39). You have eternal life because of your faith in Jesus Christ (1 John 5:11-13). Your Christian life will change for the better when you honestly admit that you are not keeping His commandments and never will. The commandments were given to show you your need for the grace and mercy of God. Grace and peace.
Those that are christs have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts Those that are not his wont do that Tskes death to self obedience and repentance Faith alone is dead

I read Desire of Ages in 2021, I might have annoyed my children with the number of times I exclaimed “listen to this”. It was so good.
It's hard to be humble when you are great as I am. I take that back; It’s not hard for me to be humble; I’m great at that too.
