@baby turtle I'm gonna take your comment at face value and try to answer it assuming it is made in good faith, even though I've seen you asking this before. There is no such thing as a 'white nation'; that's a fantasy and I'm wondering why you decided to use that phrase in the first place. I don't know where you live, but I'm assuming U.S, Britain, or perhaps Canada maybe?
The simple answer is: Why not? That is our strength. In the United States, we're a melting pot of people from various different ethnic backgrounds. Having differing perspectives and different ideas is a strength other nations don't always have so we should take advantage of it.

At around 7:45 Agad missed to mention that Qe2 Threatens Qe8+ winning the b5 pawn while still guards the b2 pawn and attacking the d5 bishop. Qf5 prevents the capture of the pawn as Bxf3+ wins the Queen. Still a consistent quality content from Agad.

Carlsen is probably the best ambassador for chess that we could ask for right now. In this era of modern social media, he stays a good man and a fiercely competitive player of the game. For good or bad, his drive to win every chess game is always 100% and I've never seen him blame an opponent for his own bad plays. Or the refs. He owns his losses and comes back stronger. The way he stays at the top of the game is the definition of classy. What a great time to be a chess fan!

Also, setting up your knight at e1 (rather than capturing with the queen, which 99% of players would intuitively prefer) so that it can support the maneuver of consecutive "queen exchange threats" together with the c3 pawn is just some of the sickest shit anyone has ever played in chess.
I do genuinely believe that neither Stockfish nor Alpha Zero would find this idea because a) the advantage he's exploiting there is probably too small for an engine to consistently calculate it over several moves and b) because Alpha never played it against itself because of a).
On another note, it was arguably foolish of Ding to go for an "equal evaluation, unequal material" endgame against Magnus in his current form. same as Anand when he went for that optimistic exchange sacrifice.

2:33 -- It's not that it's "unpleasant to play" for White, it's that it's drawing. After Bc3, Black has three 0.00-rated responses (anything else is winning for White) moves which I assume top-rated players of the Marshall are aware of: g6, Qf3, Qc1, or Re6. (IMO the position is harder to play for Black, as the situation inevitably devolves to him successfully concocting a perpetual-check to stave off defeat.)
7:38 -- a5 is suboptimal (better is Qd1, and offer to draw), and (after a5, Qe2), Qf5 is another inaccuracy, after which White's position is +1.4 as the engine predicts the loss of anther pawn soon.

Not that it was mentioned, but when Ding played a5. If instead he plays g5, that causes White all kinds of problems with the threat of g4. I saw this move immediately, so surprised Ding didn't play this move. I still can't find a good reply for White that doesn't lose, or end in a draw.

Magnus....crushes general public allcomers on chess 24....crushes GMs in his spare time...;) simply the best ever ambassador for the game...thanks for the game agad :) This game also sends a very strong message to Ding, who will probably be his next WC challenger.

On the first game of Rapid, Carlsen was playing against Wesley So, he nearly lost the game, somehow managed to scrape for a draw. As soon as the game was over, I went out from the playing hall to get some snack, there I saw Magnus stomping. He looked grimace and all angry. The world champion really hates drawing games, getting losing position against anyone. His indomitable will to win can be seen from his face.

Magnus seems to have worked through whatever funk he was in these last couple of tournaments and is back to his A-game. If he can have another funk next year and come out of it just in time for the World Chess Championship Match I think we could look forward to some actually decisive games instead of just draws.
