Hello, groomers.
This is Jessie with Sharp Edges in Oklahoma.
And today I wanted to talk about oiling your shears and how important is it.
For me, oiling shears isn't about getting shears in the back area here around what we call the ride line. Sometimes that can gather dirt and just make that feel gritty, where you would do want to oil your blades, though.
And your shears is here in the pivot area to keep it from getting dusty and seized up. So what I like to do is I take a little bit there, and you can put it.
If you have the dial system like this, you can put a drop under there and then just do that.
Just work that oil in. And it's just to keep the pivot system oiled up. And the same thing, if you have the internal dial system here.
I put a little drop along the back right here and one right down in here. And then just kind of work that in to get your oil in the pivot system.
It's not so much about having it here. That's excess oil to attract dirt, but just getting it in the pivot system to. Keep moisture out of it.
And there you go.
That's oiling your shears.
