Also I loved watching that sailing ship, Don't get me wrong watching ones with propellers that push themselves forward is cool and all but sailing ships and old-fashioned "steamboats", really do it for me.❤
I love this video. I grew up sailing, used to teach sailing, and also built sailboats at night while attending HS. That first model was/is gorgeous. I like the idea of an RC sailboat as opposed to planes, at least for me, as there is less chance of crashing, I'm pretty much all thumbs these days, but have built and flown several RC gliders. I live on an island some 30 miles to sea, on which there are about 750 named lakes. I'm thinking it might be fun to scratch build a sailboat. Thanks for sharing this video.
Thanks Doug. I'll have to give one a go sometime soon. I've never really understood the technique for going upwind and downwind. Maybe when the warm weather returns I'll get a kit and give it a go. You should do the same 😉
Aaaaahh yes the famous boating pond in Shangri-la... Its a shame but rc boating seems to be a forgotten rc hobby. That's how I got into the hobby over 50 years ago
@@EssentialRC in London to my knowledge there's Clapham Common boating pond(where I used to go) and there's another place that was featured In the film omen.... But that's it. I know that when it comes to fix wing in Europe GERMANY IS THE PLACE TO GO
Yes...and sometimes that's exactly what is needed...rather than this whoosh whoosh of fast jets backwards and forwards...but not very often. We all like a bit of speed.
If at all possible because I honestly can't find the information, would you be able to tell me how to calculate how tall a mast has to be for a 1/12 scale ship that is 70 inches long, 40 inches wide, and from the main deck 14 inches Deep?
Great video. I have a question for you all. I'm am looking to build a boat pond. what size do you feel is adequate for something like this. I am a rc car guy, looking to open a rc park that caters to all rc lovers. Not a lot of places to run boats where i am legally .Thanks.
Tell me about it! Took us a long time to discover this one and it's not big enough for fast RC boats. So many lakes and ponds in our local area but they have were all sold and fenced off many years ago. No public access. Great shame.
Buonasera.
I am all about speed but it's actually quite satisfying to watch them go slowly around and around . Thank you so much for sharing this.
I think so too. Makes a nice change. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Appreciate it.
I love it when she catches the wind. So exciting.

A relaxing day at the pond, nice!
I like how the ducks don't seem to be bothered by the boats 😂
I have a pond in front of the field where I fly (behind my house) and I just hover around them all the time and they hate it. 😂
What a classic ship it is!
Thank you for the wonderful video. Cool 👍😎😁👍
Glad you enjoyed it

Very few places to do it Brian. All the ponds and lakes around our way are inaccessible. Very sad.

Do you know anything about the rope fenders on the sailboat? I'm looking for resources to tie my own. Thanks!
No, sorry
finding a boating lake within reasonable travelling distance is my problem!

@@EssentialRC try to find one that will accept legacy IC boats like my Perkasa and vosper-thornycroft air sea rescue boat
Can you tell me the location I bought a rc titanic
Where's the planes?
Ahhh...more to RC than just planes. We do a bit of everything on this channel.
Could do with a change in thebath water !
Good Summer weather does result in lots of algae in ponds. Not a lot can be done about it I suspect.
Why is the water green? Does not look very healthy.
Don't know. Nobody was swimming in it or drinking it so I don't think any risk to health. 😆
Well, the ducks certainly don't mind what colour the water is!
