I thought I would clarify some confusion that some have in comments and elsewhere. They are mostly pakhtoun people and they have mind that of dichotomy: what that means is if you come as a friend/guest, they protect you with their bare skin and with their lives. On the other hand, if you come with weapons as an enemy trying to destroy them and/or their independence and freedom, then they don't flinch razing enemy skin alive. To me, it's a fair game. Everyone has the right to defend themselves from oppression, and all people in the world have done that. What sets them apart is they have never been defeated. The only reason Alexander survived 8 years (and other empires) among them was because Alexander/Army made a truce with tribal elders and mingled with them thru intermarriage as well. However, there have always been hard-core elements among Pakhtouns who never recognized the truce or others domination, and kept ambushing them. You saw the same in this century with British, Russians, and NATO. They tried very hard to make truce, but in the end defeated by the hard-core ones whom today we call Taliban. Same most resilient DNA in the world, humanity has ever known. Peace !

While you were in Bamyan, did you visit the site where the Taliban, destroyed the two Buddha statues? The Buddha statues had been carved into the face of a cliff, and dated back to the 6th century. One was 180 feet tall and the other was 124 feet tall. The Taliban are very proud of this achievement. You should have seen the damage the Taliban did to the Herat Citadel, before UNESCO came in and restored it. I'm sure this is an adventure for you people but portraying the Taliban as friendly and normal people, is a disservice to the average Afghan who is suffering under their control.

I looked at application for Food Stamps. Every 6 months I have to prove to them I am dirt poor by giving them almost everything about me how much money I have in banks, car payments, electric, rent, heating costs to what I spend on shoes and clothing. What man with a alive conscience will do that? It is insulting. I can not imagine a man with pride and some shame will EVER knock on welfare office. I just pray to God Almighty and choose quick death over filling out application for welfare assistance. Only drug addicts and shameless people have the determination and courage to beg for food stamps from welfare offices. Those who can not hold a job more than a few weeks top and narcotics like marijuana and booze are their moral foods. What millionaire or a poor but decent man will go to welfare office?

I thought I would clarify some confusion that some have in comments and elsewhere. One was 180 feet tall and the other was 124 feet tall. The Taliban are very proud of this achievement. You should have seen the damage the Taliban did to the Herat Citadel, before UNESCO came in and restored it. I'm sure this is an adventure for you people but portraying the Taliban as friendly and normal people, is a disservice to the average Afghan who is suffering under their control.

With no media bias. Things are clearly different from a few years ago, even a few months ago. We invaded their country for years and all we were shown was how bad they were. But all I see is how human they are. How compassionate and kind they can be and the respect they had towards these foreigners.

They are just having a laugh and joking by calling their friends a "terrorist". They don't really mean it and they don't understand the significance of how powerful the word "terrorist" is in the West.
