The location where they filmed the outside of the Grail Temple is a real place that can still be visited today. It is called Al Khazneh and is in the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. It is from the 1st century and is carved out of the sandstone face of the canyon.
The thing with the small plane attached to it was an airship. They were quite popular till a couple of disasters involving them, like the Hindenburg disaster

James Bond movies. You Only Live Twice and Thunderball are my favorites. The old movies have that perfect combination of action and humor, without a bunch of bad language.

@@seanpatton7406 oooh I forgot that one. The man makes anything he is in turn to gold. He was picked to be Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings, but he turned it down because he isn't real familiar with the charachter. I often wonder how that would have worked out, Sir Ian McKellan was such a good Gandalf, its hard to think of anyone else playing him. Even as a kid reading the books, hats pretty much how I saw Gandalf and heard his voice in my mind. Thought of another great one for the guys to watch, The Man Who Would Be King. It would be especially interesting with part of it taking place in India.
Big Tam was my favourite actoer when i was a kid. Go back further for a classic movie for the team to watch with Connery in it. Darby O'Gill and the Little People. My whole life I wondered how they done the FX in the movie, when movies after it in the 80s/90s/early 2000s doing similar, looked so much worse than a movie from 1959. Then a couple of year ago, I seen the boys from Corrider Crew talk it about it and replicate it. They said it had never been used since Darby O'Gill (first time I had ever heard anyone mention that movie since i was about 12yo, lol) movie until, Peter Jackson used the technique when filming LOTR trilogy.
Or my favourite movie of all, Rudyard Kipling's The Man Who Would Be King, with, Sean Connery, Michael Caine, Saeed Jaffrey (Billy Fish, lol) Christopher Plummer and Shakira Caine (Michael's wife). Set in India, Afghanistan, Kafiristan....no spoilers...my favourite movie, great story 👌🏻🙏🏻
I would love to see them reacting to some behind the scenes footage of how movies are made. Especially ones they have already seen. The minecart scene from last Indiana Jones would blow their minds when they see how its just dolls.
You might have to show them some videos on airships so they know what that big aeroplane thing actually was. Something about The Hindenburg disaster might be interesting as it will also tell them about why we stopped using them.
The Hindenburg just had the wrong gas inside at the time of the disaster. The reason they were stopped being used was the war, and afterwards shortsighted investors and lobbyists. Zeppelins would be still useful for transporting cargo, as well as exploration and sightseeing.
Already!? Very nice! The Last Crusade is my favorite of the Indiana Jones movies. And the Grail legend is one of the most iconic myths of Christianity. That's a great bonus, that the guys now have at least heard about it. You could also show them _The Da Vinci Code_ now. This one has another take on the Grail legend that is at least ...interesting :D Also, can you find them a flight in an airship somewhere, maybe? ;)
I have some suggestions for fun movies for our friends to watch... The Labyrinth... the one with David Bowie. And The Dark Crystal. Jim Henson puppets and Brian Froud design = awesome movies. The Dark Crystal TV series was also surprisingly really good. They did Jim and Brian good justice.
@@Trazynn I was very pleased with the Dark Crystal series. I had a lot of worries when it was announced because so many things have been re-made and were just awful. But the Dark Crystal series was so good. There was an entire history written along with the original movie, and a natural order for the creatures and the cycle of the planet, thankfully. The series drew from that and coupled with the dedication of Henson and Froud's families, it turned out awesome. Now if only such care, respect and dedication had gone into the Disney Star Wars movies, they could have actually been watchable.
I hope that they show them Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Dial of Destiny also. They may not be as good as the original trilogy, but they're still better than most movies. And it would be interesting to see how these guys react to the newer films. They don't have the same kind of nostalgia for these original films, so they wouldn't hold the new films to impossible standards. Here’s a nice fact about the movie notice when Indiana chose the wisely cup and it was the most ugly and tarnished looking one that was done on porpoise because the person who would think to choose the prettiest and fanciest cup with the most rare metals and gold and jewels is what someone with earthy desires would choose but Jesus Christ does not care for such things and that was the clue to picking the right cup
