- Cagayan de Oro, Philippines 🇵🇭 - First time in Mindanao, a very different experience to the other parts I've visited in the Philippines so far, as there aren't many foreigner's wondering around here (at least in my experience). People were super nice to me, just got a little overwhelmed as I roamed around 😄 follow along as we try various street foods

A pure and raw Philippines vlog! Compliments on how you handled it all! They all looked very welcoming and warm! I was thinking, that in western countries if you film on the streets, people feel uncomfortable and ask you to stop or not show them. It is such a big contrast with how welcome you are in the Philippines, they really embrace your presence and want to show you their culture/food and lives! Its always heartwarming to see all the love you get! Standing out there on the Cogon Night Market did cost you a lot of time and some food, but I think you handled it great!

chokolate is a native chocolate in the Philippines. We really match it with puto maya and ripe mango. puto maya contains with sticky rice, ginger, a lil bit of sugar, lil bit of salt, and coconut milk. we steam it and we really serve it hot. welcome to Mindanao. I hope you enjoy your trip.

@@SimsimsamTravels yes that is what that area is called. "Painitan" is a section in a market where people can have coffee, hot chocolate, and "kakanin" like the one you ate which is "puto maya", and others like suman, puto, and bibingka. It comes from the word "init" which means "hot", so the term "painitan" means a place where one can warm up 😁

@SimsimsamTravels have you heard of Tibiao, Antique? You would love it. So much adventures there. Let me know if you will visit, I can recommend you "Calawag Mountain Resort" with the Kawa hot bath, river tubing, massage in the river and even eating in the river. Also if you love waterfalls, Tibiao has 7 waterfalls called Bugtong Bato Falls.
Panay is one of the island that I haven't visited. Thanks for the recommendations, maybe will go when I'm back in the Philippines 😊

Yeah, I liked it there. It's not a tourist place, but I disagree that there is nothing to do. I enjoyed my time there, even though it was limited. Also Bukidnon nearby, with plenty of nature and activities 😊

Hello Sam! hope you'll visit iligan city too. It's just less than 2 hours away from CDO. Iligan is called the "city of waterfalls". And hope you can go to Timoga pools and try our yummy LECHON. I live in Cebu but Iligan Lechon is still the best!

@@SimsimsamTravels for us who have tried iligan lechon? no. haha all my family and friends who tried cebu's lechon said Iligan still has the best one. Iligan's lechon is so underrated in my opinion. If you have time, visit iligan's tinago falls. The water is so refreshing and the color of the water is so enchanting ( different from kawasan)

Omg you’re in Mindanao❤ try going to Iligan City- The City of Waterfalls it’s only 1hr and half from Cagayan De Oro City. Great city for solo travelers/backpacker, prices are cheap. You’re travel would be worth it there🥰✨

Are they just some hungry kids from the street or do they think foreigners have a lot of money and they are just greedy. Apart from that, the video was really nice. You see what's amazing in the Philippines is that even children, beggars and illiterate ones (who did not go to school) can speak and understand English. But the thing is they do ask for money to anyone they see who has the capability to give them. I'm one of those who cannot help seeing the less fortunate and ending up giving them not only food but money as well most specially if I can't buy any food around.😌
I feel you, but it's always advised to not give money. You never know what they spend it on, or if they get send out to do that by their parents. Which will encourage them to always approach people, especially foreigners for money.
I'm always up to help, and will give money to programs that are helping the people in need.
there are cheaper but better inns here... wonder who booked for you and where he booked you.. that room is baad.. hehe

I noticed ,the night market has a lot of litters around,the local government should provide garbage can around.
True, they might have a system on collecting it I assume, but I'm not sure
It's not the LGU, it's the people who's not throwing their trash properly. For the information of everyone reading this, there are trash cans/ trash drums out there and also we are an eco friendly City and we don't use plastic bags out here or else you'll get fined.
Again my friend fyi explore every corner of the City not just a portion of it. We have White Water Rafting here and it's famous because of the thrill and one of the most CLEANEST RIVER in the Philippines.
