Hey everyone, I am aware this channel is primarily about photography. This is something different that I wanted to create sharing another hobby of mine that I am passionate about. If golf is not your thing, totally understand and feel free to skip this video. I still plan on making photography videos in the future as well, but some unrelated video topics may pop up from time to time. Cheers everyone!

Good golf is about how bad the bad shots are. I found when I switched to the single plane swing my bad shots weren't as bad. Before I would hit a fair share of fats but with single plane my misses tend to be thin but they would still go straight and with only minimal loss in distance. I am noticing some of that too in your vlog. It helps in avoiding the blowout holes. Good luck on your golf journey.

Exactly, I totally agree! My misses are still in play and I rarely fat my shots.. if anything I thin them more often then not which I've noticed is me extending my lead leg at impact. Thanks for dropping a comment!

As a golf pro in my young days I enjoy watching someone making progress. I use to play around with my swing a lot and even looked at Moe's technique which I thought was very interesting. Without looking at your swiing in great detail the one thing I noticed on your bad shots was that you were staying back on your right foot. Good luck and stick with it.

@@FlyingCameraGuy Thanks for watching! I’m jealous you were a golf pro! I wish I started at a younger age, but I’m definitely happy with the progress I’ve made over the span of a year. Hopefully next year I can shoot a couple even pars 🤞🏻 cheers 🍻

@@Milkywaymike Don't forget to work on your game around the greens, that's an area where you can save a lot of strokes.

How do you get speed in a “single plane” swing? Like in a normal swing, it seems like extending the left leg, pushing off the ground, is what gives a standard swing speed. If you don’t do that in a single plane swing, how do you get speed? Or what does it feel like?

Great question... It's a big misconception that pushing off the ground generates speed in my opinion because most of the time guys are pushing off the ground so they don't bottom out with their club due to how close they are standing near the ball in a conventional swing. A lot times them pushing off the ground is creating space. Speed is mostly generated through torso rotation, throwing your arms & shoulders, proper golf form and club face contact. Have you ever swung a club easier and the ball goes further? If you have, that's because of better contact and in the sweet spot of the club.
Here is a great example of this done by SagutoGolf (stack and tilt swing). He puts all his weight forward and just rips his shoulder and arms hitting bombs without jumping off the ground like some of these pros do. ruclips.net/video/PjOCxLWAKW4/видео.html
I just started this golf swing a year ago and my distances have been increasing month to month due to better contact and technique. I was averaging 220 carry driver and now I am averaging 240-250 carry with my driver and 75% fairway. 20% first cut and 5% a pull or slice.
Check out Christo Lamprecht who is so tall he bends down into the ball like Moe Norman and hits with a lateral movement. His height, arms, shoulders and rotation helps generate speed, He doesn't need to push off the ground for distance. ruclips.net/video/5u8UxuIdcHE/видео.html
Moe Norman was short and with the single plane swing he could hit a ball out to 300 yards (total, not carry)
Todd Graves averages 250 carry so probably around 275 total.
It really depends on the person and how much they push themselves along with their equipment. I built my driver to be an accurate 250 club with a nice smooth swing. If I wanted to chase distance I could change out the shaft and really start speed training, but I fear I would lose control and accuracy... or worse injure myself as I get older.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply, there are some things to think about. I like Saguto, although not sure if I have actually implemented anything from him. Like you say in your video, I need to start videoing my swing so I can understand what I am doing better. Still lost doing early throws and probably early extension, and watching lots of RUclips videos.

What app are you using for the shot tracer

Shot Tracer Pro... It's around $95 per year and works pretty well detecting the ball automatically. Some clips is struggles to find the ball but you can manually key where the ball goes and it will create the line.
