You can refine old gas by filtering it and letting it sit in a clear glass bottle until water settles then pour off gas. Mix it with new gas 50:50.

I see how excited the dogs are to go adventuring. It's good you found out about these barrels and are removing them from the forest and creek area before they begin leaking. But, shouldn't the State Geological Survey ensured these barrels were removed decades ago?

You have always been really good at explaining everything that is going on and why. I have learned all kinds of things just watching you do your thing! I am curious about something random. What knives and/or knife brands do you use and rely on? Thought i saw a buck bantam once and guessed that orange handled fixed blade you had in mountain men was possibly a benchmade. I am interested in what knives,edc you use to help survive
I have some very nice knives, but I almost always carry cheaper knives that I can afford to lose. The orange is a Mora, hard to lose and cheap to replace. Yes on the buck, that belonged to my gramps actually. As far as brands idk, most of mine are older or custom. Cant beat a nice leatherman or full tang carbon steel.
Would it be plausible or helpful if you could post some metal runner poles in the summer on commonly used patha where you know it's solid so you dont have to guess during the winter months? Something that looks maybe kind of like a stanchion but taller - those things that tell you where you're supposed to wait in line at different venues.
Set them up in a row for a couple miles and you'll save yourself some time with navigation?
Sounds like a lot of work, there is already 2x as much stuff to do in summer than there is time

Do you ever get tired of the snow, lack of light, cold, and isolation & want to return to the lower 50 and be a become a commercial airline pilot, or private sector?
I do get tired of the snow, but summer up here is glorious and wipes the winter blues away. No desire to return to the lower 48, it's too fun in Alaska. Isolation makes me appreciate people more.

Yes a small solar panel/generator and battery system for some lights, music, computer, phone, satellite internet.
